Deals from cashback companies seem to be drying up. Been waiting to stack deals but some opportunities never came, but overall it wasn't a bad year.

The MG4 price cut… and then the 400 forum posts it triggered from new EV owners desperate to tell anyone who would listen that they got a new MG EV.
Difference is, I was one of the first 10 owners in Australia (2nd in NSW) for a brand that had never been sold in Australia, made by a relatively unknown company that a lot of people were curious about.
Compare that to the MG4, made by a company that is owned by SAIC, one of the biggest car makers in China, who have been in Australia for a decade, selling a car that has been available here for almost 2 years that they have already sold thousands of.

Mine was the Country Road shorts down from $99 to $10. Apparently was a price error - should have been $10 off instead of reduced to $10. I ordered 2 pairs and for some reason they sent 1 pair and issued a refund for the second pair but then they sent the second pair! So $200 of shorts for $10.

I'm pretty good at small bargains, as in getting a $40 top marked down to $10. I generally don't do a lot of big ticket buying. Probably the best bargain I feel I got this year was flights from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast, with 3 nights accommodation in a 4 star place for about $950 for 2 adults. The trip is coming up in a few months.
