The terms & conditions did not mention the condition requirement of the 3G phone, so I cannot answer that question. Here are the general T&Cs for a normal trade-in with Asurion but the document does not seem relevant to this offer.

So $50 for your credit card details, id details and a selfie to have to spend at JB. If you fail to send a phone or send a non-compliant phone do you only lose the $1 trade-in and not the JB bonus? Does $50 get you anything half-decent a JB HiFi?

Bit late but yes in my experience, at my store they pulled up the "recommended actions" part on their webpage stating the device must not be broken and in working order.

I'd say that part of the way they are making money is probably using government grants e.g. NT Recycling Grant - I'm in NT so was aware of this one, there's probably others in other states…

The 3g Sony Walkman w910i have is a relic. Not sure if I want to part with it tbh. It even has Walkman on the front. It’s still working well but 3g reception is pretty much non existent now.
All the coolest Taiwanese kids had 3G Sony Walkmans back in the day in high school with post paid contracts and blazing fast 3G internet

That’s incorrect. The view online link is their advertising email system. I have received this same email too because I’m signed up to their email newsletter system, just like how JB sends out their weekly catalogue promotions
