TGG website has price beat by a tenner (for pick up I guess): "Lowest monitored online price today $589 YOU WILL PAY $579"
TGG listed price is $592, not sure if its the normal price or not.

    • +45

Appliance online has free delivery, will remove your old washer for free and their courier always make the effort to deliver to your desired location, within reason.

No to TGG - they charge for their delivery service, terrible service which they just drop new fridge on your doorstep (metro Sydney). And no, they don't remove your old goods for free either.

      • +1

        Legendary service indeed!

      • +1

Yep worth going with appliances online to remove the old one and take it away

      • +4

Got AO coming today to replace my washer and went with them over the slightly cheaper TGG due to all of this.

        Great service!

    • TGG have a 12% CB today which is appealing if you can pickup yourself.

      • +1

        Won't work on price beat.

    • +1

TGG pulled this product from their website lol

  • In time for EOFY.

Any deals for heat pump dryers?

  • +5

Rated towards the bottom in Choice 78% vs top machine of 83% . Low running costs. Check out the Feb 2024 issue in your local e-library. Minor performance issues vs the top rated machines but at $589 probably not enough to justify paying $925 for the top rated Bosch

EDIT: Looks like the lower score is due to it's poor spin efficiency.

    • +1

5% difference in performance for 63% of the price.

I’d take my chances with the F&P as both are made in China.

I’d pay extra if it was the German Made 8 series. How did the 8 series score in the review?

      • All the F&P's are rated 78%.

        • Sorry I meant the Bosch 8 series

          • @JimB: WAX32K41AU 81% and recommended.

            • @neil: Scored lower than the WGA244U0AU which is half the price?

              • @JimB: Yep.

                • @neil: Keep in mind more expensive products tend to have fewer reviews, from more whingers. As you sould if you had spent more and had a gripe.

                  Compare the reviews at applaincesonline.

      • +1

        It always scores very well.

If you don't mind second hand look on FB Marketplace. I've picked up two now (one for me, one for parents) Series 8 Bosch 8kg machines - both less than 2 years old, immaculate condition for $500. Both been faultless for two years. Can't justify buying new for that.

Reason for selling is people don't want to move them into their new apartments that already have one.

        • Yeah that could work if they have the original receipt.

I once both a second hand dishwasher years ago. It didn't drain properly but of course, I couldn't test it working. I took that as a $100 life lesson and haven't purchased a used appliance ever since haha.

          • +1

@JimB: Sometimes the seller includes this which is a bonus. I'm not overly fussed though, I'm happy to take the risk and am reasonably handy to diagnose a fault if it needs a repair.

I mean in your dishwasher example if you say saved $500+ on the purchase price, the part to fix the draining issue might not be anywhere near that. Often people just throw out appliances because they don't know how to fix them. On Bosch dishwashers for example there's a tiny $20 part which stops it from filling. People just see the EXX fault code and freak out.

            • +1

@placard: Yeah good you're handy and have time.

I'm somewhat handy but too time poor to attempt to fix it.

Bought this machine maybe nine years ago, moved houses twice, never had an issue with it and still going strong!

    • +1

Same here. Moved this heavy beast twice and it works great

    • +3

Likewise - have a similar F&P washer and has taken 2 moves and not missed a beat.

Only complaint is the ability to override the child lock - the only button not secured by the child lock setting is the power button as its a physical button!

So whilst they cant start a load, they can definitely turn the bloody thing off mid-load, which is very frustrating!!!

    • Yes, same here.

    • +1

Same experience here, also bought ours 9 years ago (almost to the day), it has moved houses with us 3 times and gets used almost every day of the week these days.

Apart from needing to replace the hoses earlier this year due to worn out hose gaskets (and maybe 1-2 times a blocked drain outlet), it's handled it all like a champ.

  • Bought second-hand an identical-looking machine that is 8.5kg. Not sure how one can be rated so slightly different. How is possible for them to have that many skews or did they purposefully make it weaker?

  • An absolutely amazing company with best on ground customer service, 13/10.
If you have an issue, they fix it in 2 seconds!!!!!

    • +2

Might be more helpful if you actually told us what you're trying to say.

      • +2

Ive owned their appliances, and suffice to say, good luck when you have an issue ;)

    • Bought a Smasung TV from them and one of the most horrible service. Blackfriday deal, 2021.
Website says TV in stock, wont deliver because stock allocated to me isnt arriving in 3-4 weeks.
They blamed on samsung saying samsung not giving them stock, Appliances Online are unable to fulfill this order due to the manufacturer being unable to provide us with the stock "
They said stock here, but we are doing an inventory
Offered a Hisense inplace of a Samsung, which was declined
Everytime i got on a chat on a date said by the team, was given a different response

Miraculosly, a TV in stock arrives and the manager says "öh we had to cancel someone's order to fulfil your order"- such a big lie.

TV arrived and within a month the TV had dead pixels and escalated to Samsung who did few more drama's before upgrading the TV to one model up.

Not a great experience, had bought few other from them and service was good for other products in stock.

      • Thats no good, though I've only ever had good experiences with appliances online, I was talking about the manufacturer of the washing machine.

        • Oh this washing machine - we have been using this for last 9+yrs and has never missed a beat.

  • This this better than the similar price range LG?

I am not an expert but LG claims they have some many extra features such stream clean and inverter

    • We have a different model F&P, after previously having 2 LG machines. The difference in build quality is significant. It is genuinely a premium brand.

      • +3

As in F&P being better or LG?

        • F&P better

          • @Make it so: Do you mean Haier (Fisher & Paykel) is better than LG?

            • @utsc: You can't compare like that. They may have a common owner, but different brands can have different standards. Just like Lexus is an elite brand of Toyota, Technics was a high-end branch of Panasonic, and Westinghouse is a cheaper sub brand of Electrolux.
Our second LG was more expensive than the first, but the pump failed after less than 7 years. The F&P feels much more solid, and everything about it seems more thought out.

  • Does anyone have any positive or negative comments about Beko washing machines? Their 5 year manufacture warranty is very appealing for similar pricing.

    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/beko-bfl7510w-75…

    • +1

We have one and it gets flogged. At least 3 loads a day, often 4 or 5.

Still going very well after 5 and a half years.

But, water sometimes leaks out of the detergent tray with a heavy load and this has gradually caused the metal at the front of the machine to rust. Works fine but doesn't look great. Never had this issue with any other machine.

      • +1

Exactly the same with my Beko washing machine - it's rusting next to the detergent tray. Must be a design flaw.

        • Any feedback on warranty? Have your reached out to Beko about the leaking issue? Their 5 year warranty should surely cover something like that (they have 10 year warranty just for the motor).

          • +1

@npnp: I bought it second hand so don't have a receipt to claim warranty. I've had it for about 4 years so definitely it's out of warranty. I noticed the rust only recently, so my guess it'll last exactly 5 years without rust showing up.

          • +1

@npnp: I tried and got fobbed off with some nonsense about maybe you aren't cleaning the machine often enough. Kind of got too busy and forgot about it. Also over 5 years is pretty good compared to previous machines we've had.

Seeing that others have had similar experiences is interesting. Would love to know if anyone has had warranty success with this issue.

      • +6

Who the hell is doing 3 loads a day everyday, let alone 4 or 5? lol

        You need a 14kg machine.

        • +1

Kids, two dogs, two cats, sports gear, school uniforms and a wife who likes everything to be really clean!

          Towels, so many towels!

          • @Brianqpr: Get a 2nd washer, if you can. Life changing.

      • Same with my Smeg washer that’s made by Beko.

    • +1

We’ve had the 8.5kg version of this one for 4 years - perfect so far. Does nearly one load a day so hasn’t been babied.

  • +1

Have this exact model for almost 5 years and it has never missed a beat. Also very quiet to the point that I often need to check if I've actually pressed the start button

  • We're struggling with laundry space and would love a dryer to speed up drying process during winter - any recommendations or experience to share on a 2 in 1 washer/dryer?

    • +5

2 in 1 washer/dryers are, how to I put this nicely? Absolute shite.

      Don't do it.

      • Damn! And I thought that in 2024 there'd be improvements made to the shiteness of 2 in 1 systems

        • They are very compromised.

If you don't have room for a dryer and have a room with a split air cond, you're better off drying in there.

Fan on high speed blowing directly onto it with the temp set at 20 deg.

      • +1

        I agree, don't do it!

      • I only have a sample size of one to work with, but a rental house we stayed in had a 2 in 1. Washing was okay, but drying was absolutely hopeless. Clothes were still damp after 1.5 hours of "drying".

        • I don't think I can find people who like these machines, even with a sample size of one.

  • +1

Just an FYI, we had this years ago, the drive belt broke 2 times and there was a plastic house which held the motor and the plastic melted as well. I don't recommend their dryers…. Surprisingly their washing machine is still going, had it for 10 years. The dryer broke after 2 years. Warranty ran out just before. The cost of replacing the belt was $350 4years ago. Now it would cost more.

  • Can you buy this now and have it delivered later on like in August?

    • +1

Yes you can set delivery date at the end of an order.

    Picked up a Aeg 8000 series 10kg for $900

    • Where from?

      Who negged you?

      • From stan cash in Victoria

        • Was that a seconds or similar?

Can't even see any AEG products online

          • @JimB: This was a brand new, category B product. Never used, just out of box. I went in person and they had 2 in stock. So most likely not on the website.

  • +2

I have a 8.5kg version of this (with steam option). Its a premium quality product. Super quiet - you wont hear it spin at 1400rpm - its so silent. Anyone looking for a new machine or upgrade - this is a must buy. Make sure you use powdered detergent on front load and run it on high temperature most of the time if you want to avoid Spider Arm corrosion issues.

  • +1

F&P now owned by HAIER (China). Their models are identical but the Haier equivalent is cheaper. Only the stickers are different.

Spend extra for a direct drive motor which will last twice as long.

    • Are you suggesting a different washer is better? This one seems to have a direct drive motor. "Powered by SmartDrive technology, this washing machine combines the benefits of smart electronics and a direct drive motor to achieve a gentle, quiet wash that senses the load to deliver better fabric care."

    • +2

F&P have been owned by Haier since 2012, not exactly news and not sure why it's even worth mentioning given they are still designed in NZ and made in Thailand (for the most part).

  • Front loader = crusty hard towels

    • +4

Is it just me I kinda prefer dry rigid towels, just feels more crisp/dry and clean

      • lol I've never known anyone who doesn't like a soft towel.

    • wdym, just turn down the spin cycle….

      • Spin has no effect, it's because the towels don't soak completely (underwater) and the fibre's don't separate properly.

    • What are you doing with those towels 🤔😄

  • I thought this was some sort of Mandalorian special

  • awesome deal, lowest price on this washing machine
    ordered one, thanks!

Also looking for a fridge and microwave? Any good deals? thanks
