    Got it, thank you!

    What a stellar offer! Thanks!

    • +3

Amex offers like this are few and far between these days.

  • What gift cards can you purchase at OW?

Although excluded in the T&Cs realistically there's no way AMEX will know if the charge includes a GC purchase…

    • My question also… Would be great if they sell Coles Myer gift cards but I cant remember???

      • +9

        They do :)

        • Awesome thanks!

        • +2

And we can get cashback from amex buying them? Also the coles gift card will work fro buying stuffs on officeworks (later), right? (But in store)

        • Is it in store only? Can’t see it on the gift cards listed for purchase on the officeworks website.

        • I just bought one yesterday using the Commonwealth bank deal.

    • +5

Why did that comment get negged? Isn't it a legitimate Q? Or are people negging because they are saying that OW will be tracking GC purchases to enforce the exclusion?

      • yep probably this is one of the hush hush in ozb

      • Because they don’t like to see this loophole closed. 🤭

      • Lol

  • +1

I know it says excludes gift card purchases…..but, anyone tempted to think it’ll work buying a Gc?

    • 100%

      • +7

Are you going to buy gift cards? Can you do us a favour and report back when you get the cash back please?

        • i think @easternculture have bought in the past / will buy again this time so i think it works

        • I just bought two ultimate GC yesterday. I got offer used email today. Hopefully, the credit will show up soon

    • +10

"Limited to the first 25,000 Cards to save the offer."

If you can save it to your card, then you are in the first 25,000..

  • Thanks OP Need to buy the kick stationery for next year this is a great saving

  • +3

Not on my Qantas ultimate 😭

    • +2

Seems better to have a free Amex card.

      • +1

Not on my free AMEX card!

      • +1

Got it on my free Amex card and my wife got it on her Qantas Ultimate. We also then got it on the supplementary cards we have on each accounts, so four lots in total.

    • +1

      Weird

      It’s on mine …

    • Same.. damn.

  • +4

    Targeted. Not on my explorer

  • +10

Not on my amex platinum. What a joke, i get plenty of frankly crappy wine, hotel and car hire deals otherwise been a while since there has been a good offer.

    • I also never get on platinum

      • +1

        Platinum got it haha

        • Got it on my Centurion but not on my Discovery.

    • Same like wtf.

    • Got it on mine hmm must be random

    • not on mine either

    • got on mine

  • -2

Cheers. Got it on 8 cards.

Time to stock up on coles myer gift cards/amazon GCs.

Lucky i didnt buy the recent 10% off amazon gift cards

    • Huh can buy giftcards??? Online or in store?

      • Instore :)

Also noticed they have an officeworks branded $500 prepaid via with $8 fee.

        • does the store allow you to split payment on multiple card?

          • -2

@SnoozeAndLose: Yeah they should. Never had an issue before

          • @SnoozeAndLose: It is at the discretion of the staff member.

I usually find staff are happy to do split payments, but there were two separate occasions where two Officeworks staff members flat-out refused my request to do split payments when purchasing a gift card.

        • Getting the $500 prepaid visa would make most sense? Then use $500 prepaid to buy discounted gift cards after

          • +2

@lilkid28: You could get the $1000 Officeworks (Activ) Visa gift card if you are particularly keen, as that one only has a $9.95 purchase fee. (The packaging says the purchase fee is $9.95, anyway.)

            • +3

@WookieMonster: Wow this would be the best value/return. Using 7x Amex cards to pay. About $800 out of pocket for about $1000, netting about 20% off cash.

            • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks Wookie. Have you seen this denomination in store? Also curious if we will get 5x flybuys points with Onepass

              • +1

@magster: I saw this denomination in-store last week.

I have no idea whether you earn the OnePass bonus points when purchasing a gift card in-store.

                • @WookieMonster: Hi WookieMonster, do you know if the Vanilla Visa/Master Gift Card can be used for purchasing a gift card in Officeworks? Thanks.

                  • @nned2say: This is against Officeworks’ gift card policy:

Gift Cards, e-Gift Cards and buy now pay later, including AfterPay and Zip Pay, cannot be used to purchase any Gift Cards - including Officeworks branded Gift Cards, Partner Gift Cards, Visa, Mastercard or EFTPOS Gift Cards.

I have no idea whether Officeworks’ checkouts automatically blocks Vanilla Mastercard/Visa gift cards as a payment method for gift cards, as I have never tried this before.

If the staff member asks you to show the card you want to use (or tried to use) as a payment method, you may run into problems.

Keep in mind that Officeworks has a very similar POS system to the ones used at Coles and Kmart. Those will ask for your signature if you swipe a Vanilla Visa gift card and opt for a signature verification when asked for a PIN, which means if you try to use a Vanilla Visa gift card at Officeworks and opt for signature verification, you probably will be asked to provide a signature. During the verification process, the staff member serving you may ask you to show the card you just swiped to see the signature on the back, which may cause problems.

            • @WookieMonster: anyone had experience using the Officeworks (Activ) Visa gift cards? Does it work with any merchant who accepts visa or only officeworks?

            • @WookieMonster: I think there were discussions in the past where some prepaid Visa cards are more tamper prone than others. Are these ones the good ones?

              • +3

@clx: It is honestly hard to tell. There were reports at the start of this year of Activ Visa gift cards sold at Woolworths being tampered similar to how some Vanilla/Coles Mastercard gift cards and Vanilla Visa gift cards have been tampered, so it is safe to say there are no "good ones".

I would like to think that scammers are not targeting Officeworks, because it would have a relatively low volume of gift card sales when compared with Coles, Woolworths, ALDI or BIG W, but you can never be too sure…

            • +4

@WookieMonster: I just bought the $1000 this morning. They only charged a $9.00 activation fee so saved an extra $0.95! Totalled $1009 and then I added a $111 Ultimate Everyone card to round it out to an even $1120. No issues splitting the payment across 8 cards with the staff member I had. Pretty tidy redemption offer.

              • @daanish: How did you get a $111 gift card?

                • +3

@tlai: Officeworks sells a variable load ($50 - $500) Ultimate Everyone card. You could also substitute with any of the Him/Her or Coles Group and Myer gift cards. Basically any kind of variable card that doesn't add an additional activation fee.

              • @daanish: Well played sir - I am going to try it this week hopefully there is stock!

    • +5

      Got it on 8 cards

      Nice flex ;)

    • +1

Do they sell Coles/Myer gift cards in store only? They only appear to have Myer ones online. I don't see any Coles

      • Yeah same, nothing online?

      • +4

Officeworks sells Coles Group & Myer gift cards, but they only sell them in-store.

        • +1

          Thanks yea just got one

          • @gimme: @wookiemonster
            @gimme
What denomination are for the coles gc?

            • @CyberMurning: Coles Group & Myer gift cards sold at Officeworks are only available in a variable load denomination.

I cannot remember whether the minimum load value is $5 or $10, but the maximum load value is $500.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Ah perfect ill try 300 with split 2 cards tomorrow. If cant split then 2x 140 is fine too

              • +2

@WookieMonster: I've never seen a fixed value Coles Myer card in modern times. The minimum load is $5.

            • +1

@CyberMurning: Anything you want. Not sure if there's a max but of course i went for 140

      • +1

Officeworks Castle Hill store did not have any Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards. They said they don't sell them anymore because they are not part of the Coles Group anymore.

    • Why wouldn't you buy at every opportunity? :-) Coles Myer cards is practically guaranteed to be used up in time.

      • Correct. If you are in nsw you can top up opal with that too

  • +1

Any idea what is the maximum amount that can be loaded onto the Coles myer group gift card?

From memory, I think it is $500. Not sure though.
