  • Cheers @Coops1

made me check my card ✅️

  • Didn’t get it on my Platinum with a high spend. Got it on a dormant Platinum Card.

  • +1

Got it on 15 cards, not bad :D

  • Do these offers work if you pay by amex on Google Wallet?

    • +1

      Yeah

      • -1

        Amex chat said no…..

  • I got this on a dozen cards.

    • Yeah right

I got it on 420 cards bud

      • +1

        Username checks out

      • Yes I'll be making 4 x $420 purchases.

  • Got on my centurion. Thanks op

      Nice flex

If you don't get the email you can check on this link https://global.americanexpress.com/offers/eligible Hopefully it's consistent for everyone…..

    • I guess I'm too late to the game - checked both website and app, nothing.

  • Literally "got 10" of this offer (on a total of 10 cards).

They are going to regret targeting us professionals - Gerry from across the street did warn them.

    • so if i apply a supplementary card for my mrs that card will have separate login (meaning we need to log in and log out separately) and probably the same offer ?

      • +1

        This is the way.

        • +2

damn…. applying now — one for each gfs but i will keep them on drawer no way i give it to them haha

          • +2

@CyberMurning: Just a note, some of the good offers are only on the primary card, the professionals got lucky on this one 😀.

            • @Coops1: if can get like $1000 giftcard with 20pct off like this, buy laptop and then stack with TRS when going overseas (from the full price of item) wowww

              • +1

@CyberMurning: Also, its a maximum of 4 supplementary cards per most consumer cards. Some have 2 or more different card types, thus 5 on each. And dont let anybody tell you they have one in the cats name!

    • What cards do you have? Are they all under the same login? I'm trying to wrap my brain around this (so that I can do it in the future)

      • +1

You can apply for up to four supplementary cards (at no cost) per credit card and register each for online access separately.

  • Will they match gift card offer?

  • Do these offers work if you pay via Amex through paypal?

    • From my experience no, I missed a couple of credits when they ran the Vogue Fashion Night offer, with a couple of purchases from Myer and paid via PayPal. The T&Cs also mention that it excludes payment via third party establishments or payment processors.

    • +1

no. * Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.

    • +1

I asked similar question re using via Google Wallet (previous page) and was told yes (in here). On chat at Amex said no.

So I used physical cards to be certain.

      • +1

From own experience, paying thru apple pay was eligible for all past cashback offers on amex. You'd think Google wallet is the same.

      • Google wallet and Apple Pay are completely different to PayPal.

  • Do they accept split payment on GCs? If so it may be best to put 420 on one card and split across 3 AmEx (if you have the offer on multiple). Would also be good if possible as the OW website annoyingly only accepts 1 GC for a purchase (can split only 1 GC with a credit card to pay as well)

      • why not just buy 6x $150 cards, if you have 6 offers on different amex ?
OW website annoyingly only accepts 1 GC for a purchase —> what !!!!! thats a bad website

        • thoughts on best GC to get?

        • +1

He may be referring to the Officeworks branded gift card which has a variable load limit of $500.

    • +2

To CyberMurning and whoever the neg voter is, the reason I am asking about splitting payment for a single gift card (rather than buying multiple gift cards with only $140 on each) is because it offers two key advantages:

      1. It can benefit the buyer as I mentioned that the Officeworks website only accepts a single gift card plus a credit card to pay for orders, if you can stack 3 offers into 1 $420 gift card it makes paying for a higher value item later on much easier if using the website (e.g. to stack with Cashrewards etc. cashbacks) as more of the order can be covered by that single $420 gift card compared to using only a $140 GC. Also it is way easier to keep track of 1 gift card rather than 3 (especially if you're one of those high rollers stating that they got the offer on 10s of AmEx cards)

      2. It leaves more gift card stock on the shelves for other Ozbargainers to purchase (as rather than every person buying multiple $140 gift cards you can roll 3 card offers into a single $420 gift card)

Anyway, I went to two stores today and can report that the payment splitting policy appears highly variable. At one store the cashier and manager stated that the policy did not allow payment of one $420 gift card across 3 cards, whilst at another the cashier split one $420 gift card across 3 card payments with no issue. Really seems to depend on who you get

    thanks, got it on 26

    • +2

If you're going to come up with a number at least make sure it is divisible by five.

      • -2

pffff, why would I, Platinum, Reserve, Edge, Wife's Edge, Wife's Gold, plus Qantas Business.

      • Six per account is also possible.

  • Would not let me purchase more than 5 per day. Have to go back another time :(

  • +2

Wow very nice of AMEX this time, got it on supp cards as well.

  • Got 5 incl. sup.

  • Makes Google TV Streamer $117 (not incl. cashback) - pretty good!

  • +2

Thanks OP. Nice Christmas present from Amex; finally a decent deal on all primary and supplementary cards.

    • +3

      Its been a while.

  • Anyone purchase gc at Officeworks and get the email that it's been tracked?

    • +1

Email? I got $15 back from Amex re: Pelago yesterday - never had an email about tracking, the money just arrived after a couple of days.

      • It's been that long since I used a amex offer.. They used to send you emails for successful purchase for shop small etc

        • More miss than hit…..4 out of 5 offers, no email

        • +2

yes those emails were a nice 'achievement unlocked' moment

  • No luck on Amex platinum…and wanted to buy something from Officeworks…

  • +1

I got this on my free Amex explorer card but not on my main card. I have used my main Amex card at Officeworks recently so I believe it is targeted to accounts that don't have a purchase history there.

In general I get a lot better offers on my free card because I use it less.

  • I buy quite a lot of stuff at Officeworks so not targeted again! I can’t remember when I last used an Amex offer as all I get is crap deals that I have no interest in purchasing. Need new tyres so a Mycar offer would be nice.

  • Thx op got it

  • +4

Just received the following confirmation e-mail after making a gift card purchase this morning:

Thank you for using your Officeworks Amex Offer

  • Do you guys think it will work with Apple GCs purchased online?

  • i read somewhere that to puchase using ow giftcard, can only be done at the store not online. Is this correct?

    • Incorrect. I ordered a low-in-stock item online from another store using the OW gift cards purchased at my local.

The issue is you can only use one gift card per online order and the OW has a variable load maximum of $500.

This results in the optimal purchase amount being $420 per card, via split payment of $140 three times, to retain a ~21.4% return.

  • Has anyone tried getting gift cards delivered using onepass?
My only worry is how would I go about a refund if they don't work.

  • Does an Officeworks C&C for GCs get 5x flybuys with Onepass?

  • Has anyone ever returned their purchases after receiving their AmEx rebate? And whether AmEx reversed the rebate? Thanks.

    • They've always clawed back the rebate for online purchases.
