Another year of meetups are done with our 17th birthday well and truly celebrated.
Breakdown from Scotty:
29 events across Australia.
- 12 in NSW, 6 in VIC, 3 in QLD, 3 in ACT, 2 in SA, 2 in WA and 1 in NT. TAS missed out (again).
678 checked-in sessions from 565 ozbargainers + 11 "guests" (family, kids, SO that did not have an OzBargain account).
- Highest checked in was the Fortress event in Melbourne with 94 ozbargainers attending.
- Fewest was the Newcastle meetup with the 3 amigos.
One ozbargainer attended 13 meetup events, and 10 ozbargainers have attended 5 or more events this year (all from NSW).
- I was one of the 10, went to 5 of the meetups (Chatswood, Epping, Mascot, Parramatta & Surry Hills). "because of work" :)
Total cost for all the events came down to $21,995.49 which is around $31.92 per person (registered check-ins + guests). Thanks to all the organisers for trying to keep the cost under budget!
- Still had 2 events went over budget slightly.
- Cheapest event — Ippudo @ Chatswood ($17.21pp). 2nd cheapest event — Penang Cuisine @ Epping ($20.60pp). I went to both and both were great meetups. Kudos to @ihbh & @dust for finding us good bargains.
- Quite a few events were right on the dot at $35pp. Maybe these are the real winners?

- Snackback, gave away gift cards at 8am daily in November to those who were quick enough to claim. Got to wonder what the point is as a marketing campaign to just give out gift cards daily to I'm guessing mostly OzBargainers? Not that we're complaining.
- Black Friday was another huge shopping event. In 2022, 1279 deals we posted. This year 1297 deals were posted. Traffic numbers went from 11.8m pageviews to 12.5m. I Smell Pennies for posting the most voted deal in November 2023, eBay Plus $9.99 for 1 Year. ISP has posted 12 deals with vote average of +265.
BargainsGrabber for posting the most voted deals during the Black Friday / Cyber Monday shopping season. 50% off Pirelli Tyres @ mycar Tyre & Auto surprisingly became the most popular deal during BFCM, and even during the meetup I've heard people buying tyres on Black Friday. It has also been OzBargain's busiest Black Friday so far with 3.34m recorded page views that rendered the site almost unusable.
cooni for posting the quickest trending deal Free $5 Woolworths eGift Card @ SnackBack App, which took 6 minutes and 28 seconds to get +30 votes, and the deal was marked as expired after less than 10 minutes.
shaneb for posting the most voted competition, Win Ryobi Tool Packs from Ryobi, posted on the last day of November. He has posted 31 competitions in November with vote average of +13.2.
