If Amazon states the number of items they have in stock, then generally it's low stock, since posting a deal requires a qty of 10+
Sometimes it doesn't say, so when you go to select the qty it will show the max number they have available
Those Strangelove low calorie Pear Soda's are back in stock at half price. Plenty of stock this time though I can order 27 right now.
Quantity: 27
https://www.amazon.com.au/StrangeLove-Cloudy-Cinnamon-Lo-Cal…Be warned these are deliberately "Low sugar content" drinks with NO artificial sweeteners.
So probably a lot less sweet than you think, therefore tonnes of previous buyers probably returned the ones they didn't open. I think this is how come "Warehouse stock" keeps coming back at half price.Grocery items are not allowed to be returned to Amazon AU, it’s on their T&Cs. See here
Amazon.com.au doesn't accept returns of the following items:
- Food and grocery items
In some circumstances, these items may be eligible for a refund or a replacement (for example, if you receive the wrong item due to an Amazon AU error or if the item is faulty). Please Contact Us
I did not know that. I guess I have never tried to return any groceries.
Thanks. Still makes me think of how these drinks come back at half price and are sold by Amazon Warehouse.
From other food products I have seen, I very rarely see the "sold by Amazon Warehouse" in the seller information.Do you have any theories?
Possibly someone cancelled their order?
@nicholasv: Maybe. A lot of cancelled orders though. I think a customer would buy an average of 4 packs or so, so that would be 6 customers cancelling their order.
Still believable I guess.
Mishandled, then it's packaging torn or something
@foxmulder: Usually when something is mishandled/damaged it shows as "X Condition" as an extra optional price below like with the S&S price.
Never seen this with food items though.
I Smell Pennies has explained it best I think.
Food sold by Amazon Warehouse are 99% always near expiry hence the discount
@I Smell Pennies: Ok thank you that explains it. Batches going into near expiry.
@harshbdmmaster718: Yup! Amazon warehouse was made to clear stock and get rid of used/open box/near expiry items etc but alot of the time the item will still be brand new in box sealed. (When you buy a lot you'll eventually know how to predict the exact condition of the item depending on what the item condition says)
@I Smell Pennies: Good to know.
This might not be the right place to leave feedback on "Opened box/Used" items of a non food kind. But I have purchased a few things from AmazonWarehouse with a big discount declaring "Cosmetic damage etc on packaging and product" and every time the product arrived basically brand new. I think the only thing missing was the seal.Packaging was not damaged and product did not have a single mark on it and functioned like new. I guess they put something "worst case scenario" or 1 level worse than it actually is so customers are more likely to be happy.
@harshbdmmaster718: Yes, most of my items arrive brand new in box sealed, despite saying otherwise like what you mentioned above. Even books arrive brand new. The Amazon Warehouse sticker peels off easily too and doesn’t rip most of the packaging or book, which is good!
Imo, the warehouse is the real deal in saving money of things you may or may not need. Enjoy bargain hunting :)
@harshbdmmaster718: Most likely near Best Before date not near expiry date.
It isnt something like radiation which will expire after a certain time, its just not in the best condition after that date.
@USER DC: "It isnt something like radiation which will expire after a certain time, its just not in the best condition after that date."
Yeah I getchya.
@USER DC: Yes good clarification. Absolutely right. I just say expiry but in reality most items are just BB and edible way past the date
@I Smell Pennies: Some food items I'd just be a little more selective, for example flours and nuts which can go rancid as they near end of shelf life. Fine if you can consume all before the short BBD, but I normally pass (as I did with the cashews this morning).
@Craze: definitely :)
"Grocery items are not allowed to be returned to Amazon AU, it’s on their T&Cs. See here"
I can confirm that. I recently ordered Bundaberg ginger beer and received that awful (IMO) Mother-something "energy" drink. Claimed a return, got an instant refund with a "keep it" message.
Funny aside; I then tried to give the "Mother" stuff away. No one wanted it. Put it on Gumtree for free. Got a couple of nibbles with "Can you deliver?". FFS. I finished up emptying the 24 cans on the compost head and claiming $2.40 at the Bottle'oh.
Our family is a big fan of these Strangelove low calorie Pear Sodas. Not hugely sweet and a good accompaniment to any dinner. $5 for 4 is a no brainer.
Oh and Bezos' shrink wrapping/bubble wrapping of these would cost about 50% of that alone! Mine came today wrapped like the crown jewels were inside.
I ordered some soda's from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/713310, and they arrived with each pack double bubble wrapped as well.
A bit excessive I think, but they are loose rolling around in the Amazon box.I usually order the box of Sparkling CAPI Yuzu and the 6 packs are in their own box, inside the Amazon box without any bubble wrap. No damage whatsoever every time it has arrived.

When I went to my local grocery, I saw several types of peanuts, VK1, VK2 and VKJ on the shelf. What are the difference? Is it the size or favour?
Good qu, I couldn’t find much details on it on the internet either. My best bet it could be the different types of peanuts

I go these but I hate Pashion Fruit Drinks. Was only last year Kirks 10 packs were regularly $4.50 ($4.05 S&S) Those were good memories :(
Inflation sucks. My fav groceries are now more expensive and I have to reconsider what I buy everytime :(
Yep, they were removed from WWS/Coles price-drop earlier this year, now selling at ~$10+ at supermarkets…
Thanks, got a pack of the fruit drink for a family member who was complaining about their local supermarket not having stock at the moment.
That's actually a good price for an insulated bottle that's not Thermos branded
Yeah not bad as gifts or something haha but I've seen this one go down to around $4 every now and then so add to save for later and keep an eye on it if you're thinking of grabbing one.
Mine arrived with a huge dent at the base from the previous deal.
Can't justify paying almost double the price for another one.
@RichardL: That's no good. Did you tell Amazon?
@RichardL: If you get on Amazon chat they should either offer a replacement or full refund. Bought a few myself to give away as gifts and for mine the quality is pretty decent.
@dins: I received full refund at the time, as replacement wasn't an option due to being OOS.
@RichardL: Ah ok if you still want one you could add to cart and save for later to keep an eye on it. This most likely could drop back down to a few bucks.
Carman's Muesli Toasted Classic Fruit and Nut 1.5kg - $5.51 (61% off; EXP 22/10/22; 2 left)
Was gone as soon as I saw it lol
Yeah I added to cart but disappeared on me at checkout right after this post. I should learn to start using the "Buy Now" button. Never used it before
That was quickk
I got one :)
When these were posted in the everything else thread they were easier to get.
It was way easier a few months back when only @hamza23 and a few others on the other thread knew. But word spreads… It's harder to get now but oh well :)
Anyone know why when I Subscribe to just the replies it never notifies me, but when I do "all comments" it notifies me?
'New replies' subscription only gives you notifications for replies to your own comments (like this one). New comments is everything.
ah damn, so there's no way of subscribing to just top level comments? that's a shame.
There is not. Maybe something we can look at adding in the future as a third option, it has been mentioned previously by others. The current wording is also a bit unclear I think.
@hamza23: I think it's unclear for sure, since I'm subscribing to the OP and want new replies notified.
I would love that third option though.
@SuBw00FeR: Yeh wholeheartedly agree. When I started actively using OzB I was like "what the heck is the difference between these subscribe options" lol. Third option would be great because I am sure heaps of the 133 subscribers got notified about my annoying comment rn hahah
@nicholasv: Yep!
