Another year and another forum topic for announcing 2022's monthly awards. Every month I will be picking some contributors from the community (usually after looking at the stats), and each would be awarded with $100 prize in either PayPal fund or gift cards (via GiftPay or Prezzee).
OzBargain 2022 Monthly Members' Awards
Comments
Most entertaining deal this year (so far) has to go to this…
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/680610What an emotional roller coaster that live stream was.
needs a spot somewhere perh a new award segment
Yup I think mubd1234 definitely deserves an award — for not only discovering the "deal" but also used that as OzBargainer meet up spot. I'll add him to the list of winners.
Just based on these votes alone I'm glad you did. Well deserved :)
Please tag me if anyone found someone worthy of our monthly award.
@scotty: Always forget I can tag users now. Will do in future :)
Wow, can't believe I missed it. 😂
Why has SlavOz not received an award?
Thanks… done…
An Engineer and @SlavOz come to a bridge
SlavOz says to the engineer: Is it safe to cross the bridge?
Engineer: It is 99.97% safe to cross that bridge.
SlavOz No thanks. I'd rather swim.
woohoo!
You got something mate or shall we start a protest / thread ?
February 2022
Winners from last month:
tightarse for posting the deal of the month, Free International Delivery for Prime Members from Amazon UK & US with No Minimum Spend. It was also the quickest deal to reach +100 votes TA has also posted the second most popular deal as the Cashrewards Rep, $3 Bonus Cashback on $30 Amazon Gift Card.
dealbot for posting the most clicked deal in February, extra 30% off adidas Outlet Items. Over 24 thousand clicks from OzBargainers trying to get a new pairs of Ultra Boost or a new pair of 3-stripes track pants to complete the collection.
promopirate for posting the most popular competition last month, Win a $5, $10, $50 or $100 Woolworths Supermarket eGift Card from Lindt. Great promotion from Lindt & Woolies, but not so good execution with claiming the prizes as so many people got their claims denied.
mclarge for posting the most entered competition in February, Win an Isuzu D-MAX 4X4 X-Terrain or MU-X 4X4 LS-T from Network Ten. Almost 200 OzBargainers have registered their entries — good luck to them! mclarge has also posted 87 comps in Feb with +12.3 vote average.
Congratulations!
March 2022
Winners from last month:
grasspun for posting the deal of the month, Woolworths Chicken Kyiv Garlic $1.40 @ Woolworths. Nice half-price deal from Woolies, but +1 for the humour.
Clear for posting the most deals in March. Clear posted 99 deals with vote average of +46.4, and the most popular was Verpeak Golf Umbrella $9.95 from AZAU.
mclarge again for posting the most voted competition (Win Thermomix and Dining Pack from Broadsheet), the most entered competition (Win Samsung QLED TV + Kayo Subscription from HFC](/node/686703) and the most clicked competition (Win Hisense 4k TV and More from SBS). mclarge also posted the most competition in March — 177 comps with +10.4 vote average.
Here's the moderators' pick from last month. Hybroid for sending pizza to a fellow user that needs help. Thank you for your generosity!
Congratulations!
Congrats to the winners!
Thanks so much scotty & team. It's nice to win something for a change! A shame I didn't hit 100 deals, but 99 deals with 52 front page deals is still an impressive amount of work I think.
Cheers scotty, I thought it would get a few votes and get kicked to the forums! Just need China to invade Taiwan and Supercheap to have a snatch strap deal and I'll get April too!
Can we do another member nomination? I'd like to nominate @WookieMonster for an award as he's always so helpful with gift card related questions and always gives detailed, useful responses.
WookieMonster was moderator's choice for October 2021 award FYI 🙂
Oh great! Good to see that his efforts aren't going unnoticed. Thanks @hamza23 :)
April 2022
Winners from last month:
His_Holiness for posting the most popular deal in April, Free 12 Months Kayo Subscription. In fact some of these "free 12 months subscription" deals were amongst the most popular last month — Free 12 Months Binge Subscription, Free 12 Months Flash Subscription, etc.
Clear for posting the most deals (again). He has posted 95 deals with +50.7 average votes, most popular being $3 Bonus Cashback on $30 Choice Gift Card @ Cashrewards.
mclarge for posting the most popular & most entered competition last month, Win $50,000 from Great Southern Bank, and had posted the most competitions last month (202 with average +11.25 votes).
And the moderators' pick for April goes to Michegianni for posting the most popular PlayStation 5 deal last month, noticeably quicker than those PS5 stock Twitter accounts.
Congratulations!
Congrats to the winners!
May 2022
Winners are:
herysoe for posting the most popular deal last month, $10 Voucher from JB Hi-Fi Perks (+1542 votes). It's also the most clicked deal in May, with 53,000+ click-throughs to JB Hi-Fi's website. $10 off perks-price is now expected from all the future JB deals.
dealbot for posting the most popular freebies in May, Free BioShock: The Collection @ Epic Games (+989 votes). Together with Free Borderlands 3 (+940 votes) also from Epic Games, these are probably the best free games from Epic so far this year.
Phalaxis for posting the most entered competition in May, Win a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700K x ASUS Custom PC from Intel. More than 300 OzBargainers marked themselves as entrants to win this gaming PC, which is surprisingly more than those trying to win a Toyota Yaris Cross.
Twix for being the most helpful power user who edits hundreds of posts each month, every single month.
Congratulations!
Thank you scotty, moocher and the mods. Congrats to herysoe, dealbot and Phalaxis!
June 2022
Winners are:
dealbot for posting the most popular non-rep deal last month, Free Wolfenstein: The New Order @ Epic Games. dealbot's second most popular deal last month was also about free games - Free Mass Effect Legend Edition + Others @ Prime Gaming. Don't forget to claim that later today! dealbot posted 30 deals last month with vote average of +251. The most voted deal in June 2022 was posted by TA, the CR-rep, on 12% Amazon cashback.
Neoika for posting the most clicked deal last month, 2 HOYTS Unrestricted E-Vouchers for $25 with NSW Discover Voucher. 45,000+ clicks from people doing last minute conversion of their Discover vouchers. However it appears that HOYTS ended the promo early as NSW Government updated terms and conditions that Discover voucher can no longer redeem cinema tickets, i.e. ozbargained.
Katie2014 for posting the most popular competition last month, Win a La Marzocco Linea Mini Domestic Espresso Machine + Coffee from Dimattina Coffee. Turning out trying to win an expresso machine is more popular than trying to win LG TVs (the next 2 most popular comps). Katie2014 has posted 10 competitions in June with vote average of +21.2.
Mods recommended WookieMonster for great tips on gift cards and tested out the gift cards at his own cost "for the good of enriching the knowledge of OzBargainers". 👍
Congratulations!
July 2022
Winners for last month:
tightarse for posting the most popular deal last month — as a rep (Amazon AU 14% Cashback from Cashrewards) and as a non-rep ($5 Credit on $75 Amazon Gift Card Purchase). TA posted 3 deals last month, and the 3rd has also reached top 10 last month (Pizza Hut 100% Cashback).
Tarapara for posting the most clicked deal last month — Selected Limited Edition Oodie $40 Delivered @ The Oodie. I'm surprised how popular those $40 oodies are, as the deal got 40,000+ click-throughs.
bargainsgrabber for posting the most deals last month getting 30+ votes. 38 out of 45 deals posted have reached OzBargain front page with 30+ votes, most popular being this ShopBack offer.
mclarge for posting the most popular competition last month — Win a Harvey Norman Gift Card Worth $10,000 from SBS. It got the most votes (+104), most clicked-through (6,000+) and most OzBargainers registered as entered (500+ entrants). Again, I'm surprised how popular HN gift card is, consider how much ozbargainers despise hardly normal.
Congratulations!
August 2022
Last month's winners:
MiaSanMia for posting the most popular deals in August — Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 on SBS. Lots of footy fan here on OzBargain — and the deal won't start until late November.
thriftee for posting the most clicked deals in August — Free Large Pizza at Pizza Hut. Still a very popular deal, but somehow it got worse and worse (compared to 2021 and 2020), as the execution on the Pizza Hut leaves much to be desired.
Phalaxis for posting the most entered competition, Win $25,000 Cash from Nine Entertainment, and the most voted competition, Win a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander from Network Ten. Phalaxis has also posted 186 competitions in August.
HamBoi69 for posting the most deals in August. He has posted 57 deals with +31.4 average votes, the highest voted being Whittaker's Chocolate Blocks 250g $4.50 @ Amazon AU.
Congratulations!
Thanks, Scotty and team OzBargain! Congratulations to all the other winners!
September 2022
Last month's winners are:
arkosh for posting the most voted deal last month, Sign up to Disney+ & Earn 4000 Bonus Flybuys Points @ Flybuys. Profit + a month of Disney! Now finger crossed that Flybuys will give out the points on time.
lawyerz for posting this deal that got the same number of votes as the most popular one (although some votes were gained in October). Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program: 25% Rebate on $40 Min Spend. Lots of votes for a deal that's only applicable to the Victorians.
ciab for posting the trending deal, Free New Qld Drivers Licence for Optus Data Breach Customers, that took just 6 minutes & 42 seconds to gain +30 votes. Pretty fast votes for a deal that's only applicable to the Queenslanders.
bargainsgrabber for posting the most number of trending deals (deals that reach +30 votes). He has posted 36 deals in September, and 31 deals got more than 30 votes with vote average of +129.8. Most popular being Quilton 3-Ply 180-Sheet Toilet Tissue 45 Pack $21 from Amazon.
There will be a bit of changes in terms of prize from this month. We are not able to give out prizes in PayPal anymore. Not because of whatever censorship issue that our member has raised, but we simply can't add money into our PayPal account — an issue that has been ongoing for a month, and still unresolved after many phone calls and messages. The support person on the phone always said that they can't see anything wrong with our account, or the issue will resolve itself in a few days — but adding money is still blocked a whole month later.
So for now, we will be giving prizes in GiftPay Flexi gift cards only, which can be redeemed to gift cards from 100+ different brands.
But there's more! To combat the inflation and ever rising interest rates, we will also increase the prizes to $150 each in gift cards.
Congratulations to all the winners!
Congrats to the winners!
50% rise to keep up with inflation
Well done winners
October 2022
Last month's winners are:
T-man for posting the most voted deal last month, Join IHG One Rewards Club and Get Diamond Status. It's rare that travel deals get so many votes. The "deal" came and was gone in less than 24 hours. Hopefully those who need it all managed to get their status upgraded.
HamBoi69 for posting the most deals in October. He has posted 81 deals averaging +56 votes. His most popular deal last month was $35 cashback on Boost $170 12 Month SIM at Cashrewards.
Smalot11 for posting the most voted & most entered competition last month, Win $23,400 in Cash and an Entertainment Pack from Aussie Broadband. No need to be an AussieBB customer to participate, and winners get free broadband + other bills paid. Good luck!
Phalaxis for dominating the competition posting again last month. He has posted 205 comps averaging +15.8 votes, and the most voted being Win an Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and Cygnett Prize Pack from Cygnett.
Congratulations to all the winners! Same as last month, I'll be sending $150 gift cards from GiftPay to each of the winners.
Cheers guys! And congrats to everyone else! Almost 1 year……
Oh nice. That was unexpected, thanks :) Congrats to the other winners!
Thanks Scotty! Congrats to all especially Phalaxis for posting so many great comps!

Wow, I didn't even know this was a thing. Thank you Scotty, really appreciated!
Wow!! Thanks for award!! Love the OzB community!! Congrats to all the winners :D

December 2022
Last thing to wrap up 2022. Here are the winners:
Fooah for posting the most popular non-rep deal in December, Free Death Stranding @ Epic Games and now everyone can experience being a courier on demand. 25 deals from Epic were posted in December, and 2nd & 3rd most popular were Free Fallout: Classic Collection & Encased and Free LEGO Builder's Journey.
ChatGPT for posting the most deals in December. 68 deals were posted with average votes +31.55, most popular being Crucial BX500 2.5" SATA SSD 1TB $85, 2TB $169 Delivered @ Amazon AU. He has only changed the username to ChatGPT earlier this week and I'm not sure whether it's now an AI bot doing the posting. But let's assume that he's still eligible for the members' award in December…
Here's another bot winning the prize. dealbot for posting the most clicked deal in December, 15% off Ultimate Gift Cards @ Coles. It's also dealbot's most popular deal last month. dealbot has posted 46 deals with vote average of +278.41. 13 of those deals where from Epic Games, and 10 from ShopBack.
9999fine for posting the most popular competition in December, Win $50,000 Cash from Great Southern Bank. +74 votes & 339 registered entrants. Great Southern Bank / CUA seem to be running those $50k giveaway at least twice a year (Apr 2022, Dec 2021, Jul 2021). Did someone actually win the prize?
Congratulations!
Thank you Scotty and congrats to the other winners. We're actually having our first child in the next week or two so this is a welcome extra bonus!
January 2022
Winners for the first month of 2022 are:
TeddyBear for posting the 3rd most popular deal in January, Star Wars: Fallen Order, World War Z: Aftermath, Total War: Warhammer, Two Point Hospital, WRC 7, etc @ Prime Gaming. Great list of games, and the monthly free Amazon Prime Games just makes the Prime membership even more worthwhile. We chose not to award the top 2 most popular deals, as #1 was political & controversial, and the "donation" amount kept on changing after deal went live, and #2 was posted by a store rep.
xenb for posting the fastest voted deal in January, Panbio COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test, 4-Test Kit $55.95 @ Amazon AU. It managed to get to +100 votes within 13 minutes and 44 seconds. Interesting quite a few fast rising deals were RAT kit last month, showing how much in demand they are.
save50 for posting the most deals in January — 51 deals with vote average of +26.4, most popular being Men's Proactive Multi Vitamin Tablets 60 $1 at MyDeal.
Phalaxis for posting the most entered competition in January, Win a NZXT Starter Pro PC from NZXT ANZ — yes, winning a gaming PC again, where almost 300 OzBargainers has put themselves in the draw. Phalaxis has also posted the most competitions last month — 130 comps with average votes of +14.5.
Recommended from the community, mubd1234 for posting this AusPost vending machine deal where you not only able to get 10x $1.1 0 stamps for $2.50, you can also meet up with OzBargain stamp collectors in an Alexandria car park. Thanks for the live streaming and all the entertainment.
Congratulations!
