@yewman: Tip of the iceberg and there's multiple instances, not just this. He's been telling others for a long time before his group what they can and can't post on OzBargain, as well as what stores they can post for. It's not up to him.
Plus if he's advertising his group here then he can't stop anyone from sharing deals from there either. OzBargain request but not require credit to be given. I can see that BG does infact give credit 😉

So dealbot makes the rules for OzBargain? No he doesn't. My point proven. OzBargain allows deals to be reposted sunshine and credit should always be given.
@yewman: I’ve always credit his deals on BAM whenever I repost it on OzBargain. However, he has been quietly trash talking people, such as calling me a leech while I haven’t engaged with dealbot since the blocking by him as seen in the 2 screenshots above
I joined OzBargain only to be allowed the freedom to post whatever I feel like and the benefits it give to the community. I didn’t realise it comes with hurdles as well as impolite replies from an individual on what can and cannot be posted on here

And, in case you don't know "leech" is common internet slang for a downloader who doesnt upload
You just need to check his post history to see that he's sharing deals that he's found himself and the few that are reposts are being given credit as required.
If anything it makes me want to post them more. Starts from last year when I got a message asking me to not post EGS freebies. Cheers

The fact the Chinese are trying to buy unreal is potentially an issue, but you didn't mention that.
Funny how those complaining about Epics exclusives never ever complain that Steam has always done the same thing. The difference is that Epic gives devs the lions share of the profit whereas Valve take half which is why game devs CHOOSE to go exclusive on Epic.
Neither do you mention how Valve relied on microtransactions in their games to help get them where they are and now do it with the literally BILLIONS of dollars they make each year from skins etc instead. They have the passive income to be able to provide a better service, yet despite all the money they make, they don't do anything near what Epic does, giving away games at least every week for years. They had to be taken to the high courts repeatedly just to give people basic cosumer rights.

Yes steam has more features, but at the end of the day we just want to play games. If that works then thats all that matters. Everything else can slowly be developed
Epic don't care about gamer culture, only long term profitability by poaching from the Steam base. No reviews, no achievements, no mods, no trading cards, and so on.

I'd stick with the free version.
I haven't looked into it much but I heard there are many quality of life improvements, and some parts can be quite a slog in the original version. But iirc there were reviews who said that those slog moments really made a difference once you got past them and had a bigger emotional impact. So… Get the original if you want more emotions and director's cut if you want more convenience I guess? I haven't played it yet but that's what I recall reading.

I plan to buy upgrade. I've had this game on my wishlist but at its retail or sale price wasn't enough to bite. With EPIC giving it away for free I feel chuffed enough to spend the $9 to upgrade.

Good on Epic for this freebie but I don't think this is a game I will play, too much running around places, too boring for me.
Cool music by Low Roar (RIP Ryan) and decent voice acting in this game. It's just the gameplay is soooo boring and is pretty much a courier, walking sim. It may be enough for some to keep them at it for the story.

One of the best games I've ever played, perhaps the best. The atmosphere of being (mostly) alone in a huge and dangerous apocalyptic world is amazing. It's not all about fighting and shooting.
Agreed its funny seeing all the kids say walking Sim and boring that they picked it up for 5 mins then put it down
is pretty sad, as once you get into it and the post apocalyptic feels it's really a fantastic game

Damn that's good. Already played and finished it on PS4 and it's too long for me to replay it, but anyone who hasn't ought to give it a go. It's divisive - it won't be for everyone and I can completely understand why some people didn't like it, but I loved it.

LOL you're probably right. If you can finish this game with a Gold ranking, then you are qualified to be an Aust Post postman, where you will be dealing with crazy drivers on the road, wild dogs and abusive home recipients in real life.

A quick search shows that in late 2021 they had 64 million active monthly users. I'd say it's working fine.
Yep, 64 million users like me that get their free games from Epic and buy their games at Steam.
Epic has been so generous with so many free games so I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 from them earlier this year.
