I will be announcing the winners for January members' award later. We have been doing these monthly members awards for the past few years (2014, 2015 & 2016) to recognise and reward those who had made significant contributions on OzBargain. Winners receive prize of $100 in either gift cards or PayPal credit.

Thanks scotty and all professionals!
Many thanks Scotty and to everyone who voted for Stack. Congratulations to the other members and thanks for your contributions.
Congrats all!
The real hero is scotty organising the meet ups and handing out OzB shirts :D
appreciate all the hard work everyone puts in, thank you
Thanks Scotty, Mods, and OzB members. Ya'll know I'm not one for makin long speeches and such so I'll keep this short.
Thanks Scotty, I feel a little bit out of place with the great deal & comp posters!
February 2017
Winners for February are:
Deal of the month goes to beeawwb for posting this American Express offer — BP Spend $40 Get $10 back. Great deal however over the limit / out of stock 12 hours after posting.
Electrical & Electronics category has the most deals posted in February, and the most popular Electronics deal was Sennheiser HD451 $38 @ Officeworks posted by Spackbace. It was a price-beat to this deal at Harvey Norman. Both ended up finishing early with lots of cancellation, i.e. ozbargained.
February was also a slow month, and member who posted most deals goes to Clear who posted 41 deals with vote average +30.8, including 7 store-rep deals from GeekBuying. Clear also posted 253 comments in Feb just slip through the top 10 commenters list.
Most popular competition goes to kosh52 who posted Win $500 and 2 Gold Class Movie Tickets from Roadshow Entertainment (which is drawn today). Kosh has also posted 9 competitions in February with +13.1 votes.
Congratulations!
Great to see some fresh faces sharing the spoils. Well done to all!
Thanks scotty and the rest of the mod team, genuinely surprised!
Congrats to all the other winners too :)
Never thought I'd be a winner. Thank you :) Congrats to everyone else.
Thanks everyone for your efforts, brilliant posts. Congratulations!
Thanks for the accolade Scotty. It has been a long ambition of mine to win member of the month, can cross that one off the list of things to achieve in my lifetime.
Congratulations to all the winners for February! Well done :)
March 2017
Sorry about the late announcement — got mixed up with some other announcements earlier this month. Here are the winners:
RewardBucks as the deal poster of the month. 122 deals with +36.3 average votes, and 44 of them got onto the front page. He also posted the most popular Books & Magazines deal and Fashion & Apparel deal last month.
watson4884 for the most popular deal last month, $20 off When You Spend $50 at eBay that took 10 minutes to get onto the front page, and 15 minutes more to get +100 votes. The deal itself lasted only 4 hours but also almost crashed OzBargain with members trying to find the best ways to spend 50 bux on eBay.
headphonejack for post the most-clicked deal last month, latest Hungry Jack's Vouchers, with 37,000+ clicks from those looking for cheap fast-food. The previous HJ voucher post got 46,000+ clicks. We'll see how many would this one get before it expires.
gnv9 for being the competition queen. She posted 508 competitions (that's 16.4 comps a day!!) including comp of the month, Win $100/$5000 Prepaid EFTPOS Cards EFTPOS Australia, where 13 of OzBargainers actually won.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to the other members!
Thank you Scotty, an incredible month for the section in terms of wins so well done to all who won, was a pleasure posting.
Congrats to all the other winners!
There certainly were some great deals and comps last month.
Here's to a big April!Congrats guys/gals.
Thanks everyone - we appreciate everything you do!
April 2017
Here are the list of winners from last month:
RewardBucks for posting the 2nd most popular deal last month, 20% off Tech at Participating Stores @ eBay. Most popular one went to another eBay deal posted by JSQUARED, who is a staff member at OzBargain. That deal took 12 minutes and 20 seconds to get onto the OzBargain front page and received +618/-13 votes. RewardBucks also posted the most deals last month (42 deals with +61.6 average votes), and 23 of them got onto the front page.
chumlee for posting the most clicked deal last month, 50% off @ New Balance that received almost 30,000 clicks, and is the most popular deal in the Sports Category. I almost bought a pair of Fresh Foam 1080, hesitated, and by the time I came back it's all sold out…
gnv9 for again being the queen of competitions. Win Samsung Galaxy S8 from Harvey Norman was the most popular comp with +51 votes and 158 entries. She also posted 348 competitions in April.
altomic for being a top-rated commenter last month, who was amongst the top 10 most commented users, and with the best voting average (364 comments, average +2.48 votes, 15 +5 votes and 52 +15 votes).
Congratulations!
Congrats.
congrats
hesitated, and by the time I came back it's all sold out…
Should be the motto of ozbargain
What happened to the monthly stats. Always find them amusing
They do take quite a bit of time & effort to produce, and this month is a bit more "busy".
I'll see what I can do to help Neil to automate as much as possible.
Maybe consider a reduced (easier to produce) monthly report, and more elaborate quarterly reports? I enjoy the monthly reports too, but some stats would be more meaningful/impressive if recorded on a quarterly basis, while others loose their value if not reported timely.
Perhaps a page with some "running statistics", e.g. "most posts during last 30 days", "most comments during last 30 days".
May 2017
Here are the winners from last month:
vinc who got the deal of the month, MX Player Pro for $0.20 on Android. That's 20c Google Reward credit well spent.
easternculture for posting the most deals last month. 48 deals & +33.15 average votes, 14 of them got onto the OzBargain front page. Most popular being Kogan Mobile 5GB Plan for $205.58/12 Months.
Timbo94 for posting the most popular competition last month, Win a Nintendo Switch Pack from Harvey Norman. With 143 users registered as "entered", any OzBargainer actually the prize?
Finally, the ever so incredible gnv9 who shared 321 competitions last month with +6.69 vote average and 7,978 entries between them.
Congratulations!
Thank you for the very kind words Scotty (which I'm not deserving of), it's certainly delightful seeing the section grow. Well done Timbo and congratulations vinc and EC!
Thanks to all of you guys!
Congrats to other ppl who won the prizes!
What a fabulous month!
June 2017
Winners from last month:
irecu for posting $10 off $50 Spend at eBay deal, which came 2nd last month. Deal of the month went to tightarse's amaysim cashback offer but rep-posts don't get awarded. June has certainly been a very busy month for eBay deals — 7 out of 10 top deals were from eBay, 10 quickest deals rising to front page were all eBay deals.
While tightarse didn't get awarded for the deal of the month, he also won the competition of the month (yes 2 gold badges in a row). Win 1 of 200 Allen's Confectionery Medium Bags from Nestle is actually the most voted competition so far with +534 votes, although it's more like a freebie (when it was first posted) than a competition. Congratulations to those who "won" (i.e. actually received the bag of confectionery).
nocure for posting the most deals. He has posted 68 with +37.65 vote average, most popular being Pic's Really Good Peanut Butter $3.75 @ Coles.
Belgarath for his generosity towards another OzBargainer, when he spontaneously gave $50 to someone in an unfortunate circumstance and sparked a chain reaction from other generous OzBargainers.
Congratulations!
Congrats winners!
July 2017
Here are the winners from last month:
brawndo for posting the deal of the month, Qantas FF 2000 Points for Updating Personal Details. No brainer bargain, and having 2FA is good for security anyway. Too bad it only lasted 2 days before Qantas removed the link.
tightarse for dominating the OzBargain home page with popular deals, especially those eBay ones. TA posted 39 deals with +179 average. 6 of his deals reached +100 within an hour.
gnv9 for posting the competition of the month, Win LG 55" TV & Family Guy DVD from Jack Link's and 407 other comps averaging +6.48 votes (that's 13.16 comp a day!)
doweyy is the moderators' pick this month for his helpful comments and posted the top deals for both Education and Electrical/Electronics category.
Congratulations!
Congrats to the winners!
Well done to the winners for July :)
August 2017
Here are the winners from this month.
Tasmaniac

Congratulations!
Well done to the winners of August!!
August 2017
Here are the winners for members' award last month:
first in line who posted the deal of the month, Free Gym Towel from Cetaphil. It was so popular that Cetaphil has to email us to pull the post down. Not sure how many people actually will receive the towel though.
nocure who again posted the most deals last month — 68 deals & average +48.8 votes, 34 of them got onto the front page, and the most popular being 10% off eBay with $75+ spend.
gnv9 who not only posted the most popular competition of the month, Win a Bauhn Entertainment System from Aldi, but has again overwhelmed us with the number of competitions she shared with the OzBargain community (342 comps with average +6.7 votes).
Spackbace for his contribution has power user, who has done 240 edits on 226 posts last month.
Congratulations!
Thanks scotty, very unexpected! :)
Congrats to all the other winners :)
A very pleasant surprise as I wasn't here as much last month, much appreciated Scotty.
Congratulations nocure and Spackbace (thank you both for your continuous efforts) and well done first in line, wonderful post :)
Congrats to the winners.
Thanks, wasn't aware of this competition. What a plesant surprise
September 2017
These OzBargain members are awarded for their contribution last month:
Thespottedcow for posting the deal of the month as well as the most voted deal so far, eBay 18% off Site Wide that also almost killed OzBargain. Right now it had +2,551 votes, 27,343 click throughs and almost 1,000 comments. It got to the OzBargain front home in 4 minutes 50 seconds, and reached +100 votes in less than 13 minutes. The record would be difficult to beat. 20% off eBay site-wide perhaps?
gnv9 won again for her contribution to the competitions, including the most clicked comp. She also posted 422 competitions last month (7 were in the top 10). gnv9 also happened to post the 2nd most voted deal last month. Thanks for the cheese!
nocure for posting the most number of deals in September. He posted 53 of them with +60.1 vote average, most popular being ½ Price Connoisseur Ice Cream Tubs 1L $5 @ Woolworths.
Willy Orwontee for posting a useful comment. Many popular comments are often up-voted because others agree with humorous remarks, but many aren't actually helpful. Willy Orwontee posted this useful comment sharing the search link for the eBay selected-store sale and was 3rd most voted comment last month (behind this and this). Yup. Do vote the comments that you agree/disagree with, but please also up-vote those comments that are actually useful/helpful.
Congratulations!
gnv and nocure are smashing these awards, congrats to all!
Wow thanks!
That is not fair, willy's link had several missing stores. BlazinPast deserves credit because he was the person who provided the correct link again showing useful comments are not upvoted. Willy's comment should've been removed so people didn't use the wrong link.
He might not be the one with the most correct link but (1) the first one to come up with something that might be useful for other OzBargainers (2) actually got his comment voted up.
thanks Scotty + OzB
October 2017
It has been a busy month last month packed with many good deals. Some fun stats when comparing to Oct 2016 (inb4 neil's monthly stats post):
- 24% more traffic than last October.
- Mobile has 8.1% more traffic than desktop in Oct 2017, whereas desktop has 10.2% more than mobile in Oct 2016.
- Android is the dominant mobile OS at 50.5% (was 47.3% last year). On the other hand iOS dropped from 50.8% in 2016 to 48.8% this year.
- iPhone is still the most popular mobile device, whereas the top 5 Android devices for browsing OzBargain are all Samsung's (S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8+ & S5). Whereas last year we had S5, S7 Edge, S7, Nexus 6P & S6.
Alright. Here are the winners for last month's members award:
nathanial for posting the deal of the month, Free Kogan Mobile Extra Large Prepaid Voucher Code. Yes, "Free" and "lots of data" always work on OzBargain — and it does not matter whether it's Kogan-branded Vodafone network that does not even use band28 at the moment.
morphio for posting the 2nd most popular deal last month, Free Domino's Traditional Pizza for Signing up to Microsoft Rewards, which actually happens to be the most clicked deal in October at almost 50,000 clicks. Yup, "Free" "Pizza" — what else would an OzBargainer want?!
gnv9 for posting the competition of the month, Win a Nintendo Switch from UNIQLO. Not only posted the most popular competition, gnv9 has also posted 421 competitions last month, increased her comp-posting tally to 5,020 at the end of October. Most certainly deserving to win this comp.
ldstr for posting the useful & popular comment of the month. There are many useful comments left by our community members although not many of them get voted up to this level of popularity. Thanks for the contribution!
Congratulations!
Congratulations nathanial, morphio and ldstr :)
Heartfelt thanks to the few good people I've come to know in the section (without whom I wouldn't have come this far), the regulars who take time to vote each month and of course, scotty and mods for the acknowledgement.
Always good to see fresh names getting MoTM. Congrats!
Congrats all, all worthy winners :)
Wow I did not know my post would be so popular! I'm glad many people have scored free pizza because of it.
Congrats to everyone and keep up the good work!
November 2017
We are finally at the last month of the year, and these are the winners from November:
easternculture for posting the deal of the month, $100 cashback on $400 spend at Harvey Norman with AmEx. EC also posted 46 deals last month with +62.5 vote average.
save50 for posting the most deals last month. save50 has joined OzBargain for just over a year, and has posted 55 deals in November with +14 vote average.
gnv9 for posting the competition of the month, Win an Audi A1 Sportback from Allianz. Any OzBargainer won a car? gnv9 has also won almost every month this year from the number of competitions she has posted. For November she has posted 439 comps with +9.4 vote average.
Baysew and Spackbace for helping out as power users last month, editing 200+ deals each. November has been the busiest month so far this year — 3,726 deals published, 206 on the day of Click Frenzy, 234 on the eve of Black Friday and 389 deals posted on the Black Friday itself. Thanks to the moderation team and power users to quickly review & edit deals when they got posted during those busy periods.
Congratulations to all!
Thanks Scotty and the mod team :)
Congrats to the other winners too!
December 2017
These are the winners from December:
sasto who posted the deal of the month, eBay 10% off Boxing Day Sale (that had a late start and early finish). Nevertheless it was still the biggest deal of the month spawning 80+ related deals.
gnv9 stays undefeated as the competition queen on OzBargain, posting the most popular comp of the month, Win 1 of 3 Sennheiser Prize Packs from Qantas, and 377 other competitions she shared with average +9.86 votes.
nocure for posting the most deals in December 2017 (50) and getting the most deals on the OzBargain front page (38). Most popular being 20% off Tech stores at eBay getting +471 votes.
As the last award for 2017, I thought we shall award the most contributed new user in 2017, and that prize goes to pfaftle. praftle signed up to OzBargain on 17 February 2017, and over the 10 and half months posted 1139 competitions and 2,826 comments, became a Power User on 8 August and edited 501 times.
Congratulations!
Thank you so much Scotty & OzB :D
Congrats to the other winners!! :D
Much appreciated as always scotty :)
Special thank you to pfaftle :D Not many know about the work you've put in (esp the last few months) and no doubt the section has been better for it. Well deserved.. I was absolutely thrilled to see this.
Thank you!!!
January 2017
Winners for the first month of 2017 are:
forumninja for posting the most popular deal last month, AmEx Statement Credit for Dan Murphy's Online. It's the 2nd deal-of-the-month in a row for ninja (and it was an Amex deal as well last month).
nocure for posting the most deals in January. 55 deals were posted averaging +57.8 votes, and 37 of them got onto the home page.
gnv9 for sharing all the competition posts. She posted 404 competitions last month with +6.8 votes average, including the most popular comp, Win a $100 JB Hi-Fi Voucher from STACK (answers included!) Anyone won?
Baysew as moderators' nomination for his dedication as power user. Baysew has made many edits to deals and forum posts over the years to correct spelling mistakes, clarifying the title, fixing bad Markdown syntax, etc. Thanks for the hard work.
Congratulations!
