Yes!!! Missed out by seconds on the HN link. Edit: Thanks OP and the OG OP I can't believe ozbargainers made officeworks Price match what is now a non existent price point :P

      SHHHHH

    • They cancelled my order.

  • +1

    good headphones?

    • +1

pretty decent going by the reviews. Its bass heavy like most lower ends.

    • good price :)

  • Awesome thanks

  • +1

Thanks, just ordered them for click and collect.

  • Thanks! Ordered for click and collect.

  • +2

Don't think I'd use these much but ordered them. Thinking of bringing these on plane trips to use instead of my ultimate ears (in-ear which are not that comfortable for long periods) or the awful headsets the airlines provide. Cheers op!

  • Thank you! I missed the HN deal, was going to go in person after work. Went click and collect this time round so I wouldn't miss out.

  • +5

I tried to resist buying another pair of headphones I don't really need for the whole day, but relented when upvotes cracks 200 in the original
HN deal, and bought one from OW!

    Damn! Damn! Damn!

  • Thanks! I looked at this months ago and wasn't sure. For this price I don't need to be sure! Ordered + click and collect.

  • Couldn't resist grabbing a pair at this price. Thanks folks!

  • +12

The reviews at Amazon.co.uk and elsewhere aren't encouraging.

  • Thanks, just ordered. I ordered through Harvey Norman this morning, but I'm fully expecting them to cancel my order. Ordered click and collect and 8:30 am, didn't get order confirmation until 11:30 am - well after the store was showing as out of stock.

    • i spoke to HN this morning and they said they'd be transferring stock from other stores to honour orders from their store

    • +1

Ordered online from HN at 09:30 (pick-up Balgowlah, Sydney). Hadn't received a 'ready for pick up' email by 15:30, so I went in and they said they had been too busy to process the orders. The staff member went out the back and grabbed them for me. Crappy service but that's to be expected from HN.

      • Had they set your online order aside, or did they still have stock?

        • They had set the online orders aside but hadn't bothered notifying anyone.

        • i got a call stating my click and collect would be cancelled, i reckon either the staff were too busy to set one aside straight away, resulting in walk in customers buying them all or a staff member realised it was a good deal and kept it for himself. Definitely didn't offer to source one from another store.

    • I got "ready to pickup" email from HN this afternoon.

  • +4

Ugh, brilliant deal, but do I want them? Do I need them? cries self to sleep

    • +2

Did you end up getting them?

I'm the same as you but resisted. I have better pairs and I wouldn't have used these anyway.

      • I have not yet purchased them… yet…

    • +12

RESIST. If you don't absolutely need them there's no point. Not spending anything at all still better than buying something with hard earned cash that you don't need regardless of how high the savings are.

      • I appreciate this. You are a lovely person.

… But I have been wanting new headphones for a few months now… but I like to do proper research so I'm not sure if these are the right ones… but I would have gone for sennheiser…

        ahhhh RESIST!

        • +2

Resistance is futile. Just get it.

Based on what you've just said, I think you wanted it anyway. You don't have enough time for proper research. Deal ends tonight.

        • @lostn: I had just come to terms with my decision not to get them!

        • +2

Resist. Don't let FOMO dictate your purchasing decisions. These arent that great anyways so you arent missing out. Up your budget and get one really good set that will last for years.

        • @Third_Gear: That will cost significantly more though, since these are already $99 at RRP. Something better than this would cost $200+ unless some crazy special at Amazon france/germany happens.

        • +1

          @jjjaar:

Looking at other people's comments and Amazon, sound quality is pretty meh, as is comfort, so worth holding off a bit imo.

On the other hand, they're cheap and if you don't like them, can resell without a huge loss (although I'd expect a lot of people would be doing the same).

        • +2

@lostn: I bought a $200 set over ten years ago. Still going strong. Others who bought cheap crap keep churning through the same garbage. RRP is irrelevant. Ignore it always.

Do what you want but for the last two years I've stopped wasting money on deals like this. Less clutter and more money in the bank.

  • Any one who already got their hands on one are these any good? As in not just in terms of value at this price but the sound quality in general.

    • +2

I got some this afternoon… Reasonable sound quality. There is plenty (and if anything a bit much) of bass. Quite strong mids and almost hushed tops on some songs. Reasonable noise cancellation for a cheap pair of headphones, but the cable is a bit shorter than I expected. Pretty good for $38 I think.

      • +1

Cheers mate just reasonable doesn't cut it for me haha so might give it a pass.

      • +1

The cable is only 1.2m but the clue is where they say its for portable devices, so made for wearing with device in your hand or lap.

Nearly bought it, but cord just too short

        • Can't an extension cable be used? Or does this change the sound quality? Serious question, as I need a pr of headphones for watching tv after others are asleep.

        • +5

@Hen: It may affect 0.01% of the signal or something, but seriously, no one is honestly going to notice the difference a 2m or 3m extension cable may make. Any cheap (eBay) audio cable will do the trick too, you don't need an overpriced branded cable.

        • @aarcana: thanks so much aarcana

      • I plussed your comment for your review of the sound but really you shouldn't be using the term 'noise cancelling' when these aren't noise cancelling headphones, from what I could see they are just noise isolating, there's no active circuitry

        • +1

Can't anything that produces sound be noise cancelling? "What's that love? Hang on, Ima start the lawnmower. Nope can't hear you."

        • +1

@muncan: That'd be noise drowning rather than cancelling.

        • @muncan: just watching out for those that might think they are getting a pair of 38 dollar noise cancelling sennheisers

    • +1

I got some from the Harvey Norman deal. They are light and comfortable on my head (big head), but I have only worn them for a short period. I'm no audiophile, but I find the sound a bit muddy compared to my Xiaomi Piston IIs that I wore immediately prior to trying these. Still happy with them for the price, good at blocking outside noise.

  • Thanks to Ozbargain I have more headsets than both my hands can count which will probably last until my kids grown up.

I will listen to my lullaby music with me new headsets.

Online order (pick-up) with Harvey Norman at 8:30 am, order confirmation at 11:30 am, followed by nothing.

Online order (pick-up) with Officeworks at 4:21 pm, order confirmation at 4:21 pm, ready for collection at 4:25 pm.

    • +2

Yep, Officeworks is so much better at service and, most importantly, they don't have the annoying salespeople. I hate how at Harvey Norman the salespeople are obviously trying to score the highest KPI for how many shoppers they can chase out of the store with the same dud open ended questions.

      • +4

When it's busy it's the opposite. You want to speak to a sales person to get something from the cabinet but can't. Everyone's with a customer, and these customers know nothing and ask a bunch of questions taking up 20 mins of salesman's time. All you want is to pay for something quick but have to wait.

That's what I hate about shopping at HN. If you're going to do it, you have to click and collect or go on a weekday.

        • +1

I had the opposite experience today in HN! I walked into the computer/electronics area hoping to grab what I wanted from the shelf and run. I look up and there are 4 sales people charging at me as if to say "I want the comission"

        • +1

@j05h: Who gets commission if you click and collect?

      • +1

No commission for officeworks salespeople. HN are the "squeeze every last cent out" approach. OW is all about volume

  • +1

My HN order was cancelled by them so I came here to place an order from OW. Fingers crossed it's going to be successful!

  • +6

Look, didn't need them but boy did I buy them. Thanks!

  • Anyone know if you can plug them into the audio jack on a PC?

    • +48

I know I can. Depends how strong you are.

  • Thanks OP, got 2 with free next day delivery

  • +15

Looks away while clicking the confirm order button……SIGH I HATE OZBARGAIN SOMETIMES, BUT THANKS OP!!!!!!

  • +1

    It's a sickness - more headphones… sheesh…

  • +7

added to cart, almost purchased…. then realized i didn't need them…
thought this site was meant to save me money not try and make me spend more

    • +13

      You do need them…

    • I purchased one even though I got MX50X, QC35 LOL. This one might be for casual purpose or even a great gift mate!!! You do need them!

      • Would they be any good just to listen to some music whilst studying and block out other noises?

    • +7

Ozbargain helping promote Jobs and growth

      • +2

        particularly, … in China.

    • +9

I added to cart, almost purchased… realised I didn't need them
Then a few mins later realised I could still use them

      And bought.

      • hahahaha

  • +1

Just missed out on HN deal! I think I might just bite the bullet

  • -1

EDIT: My mistake, no charge on Click and Collect

    • +4

Mine didn't charge extra for click n collect

      • Free click and collect in Braddon, Canberra. The site says 8-19 days delivery.

  • +4

My mistake: I misread the invoice. No charge for Click and collect

  • Bought. Figured it would be better to leave these at work instead of the HD 598's.

I will miss their comfort and SQ, though.

    • +1

If I had a set of 598's I wouldn't be taking them out of the house ;)

    • +1

LOL same the HD 650s are coming home the HD 451 stay at work

  • +1

    (Collect in 8 - 19 Business days)

    :(

  • It's on back order.
Hope they don't cancel and charge me $6 for a realm of paper :(

  • +3

These can go on my PC and I'll move the RS170's to the lounge room - because no one can enunciate on TV anymore and I need headphones so I can hear the talking - but also not wake the neighbourhood in the action scenes.

    • I need headphones so I can hear the talking - but also not wake the neighbourhood in the action scenes.

Yes, clearly you need it for "action" movies, if ya know what I'm sayin ;) wink wink, nudge nudge

      • +1

Nah, the neighbours can hear that. No ragrets!

  • +5

I've been testing them for the last 30 minutes with my Galaxy S6 and ThinkPad laptop and they're frustratingly quiet. I'll be returning mine.

    • Thank you. I was about to buy these and then I saw your comment.

      • +1

Glad to help. They're fine for movies but for music the peak volume isn't loud enough.

  • +1

I've lost count of how many 'headphones' or 'earphones' I've tried. Just one more wouldn't hurt - Been waiting for a good headphone deal till now. Cheers!

  • +2

I'm sure I'll find a use for these by the time 8 - 19 days elapses.

  • +3

nah, I'll wait for a better headphones. So far the one I'm using is still pretty damn good.

    Cheers.

    • so what brand headphones are you using? I like Wicked Audio Reverb but the problem is it looks bulky…

  • +1

I'm able to score this headphone at OW this morning and they did price match from HN, ended up paying only $36.10 as OW wasn't aware about this bargain price at that time.

    • -2

oh good for you! you saved $1.90 - woopie doo! the ozbargain spirit lives haha

      • -3

Well, he/she was reimbursed $1.90 for the buggering around and time wasted doing the price match. probably 10 mins. ie $12/hr. Less than minimum wage.

  • thanks OP, got one

  • Thank you, got a pair

  • Why do I get the feeling there's a 'Headphones/Earphone' sale almost everywhere I look?? should I buy the Blueant Pump or this one?

  • Anyone know how these compare to some Logitech Ultimate Ears (UE) 6000's?
Mine are ~3yrs old and starting to show a bit of wear.

    Thanks.
