  • I wonder why they don't list the higher-end ES850NB; it would be nice.

  • I wonder how this would compare to the Mobvoi Tickasa that I've got, or to the Aldi special buy that's just coming out.

    • Reverse image search on that aldi will tell you the model and i bet u 100 bucks you can order it from alix cheaper

  • Advanced Noise Cancellation Technology
active or passive that is the question

    • +1

Advanced aka having your ears covered by the foam cups lol

  • I purchased the W820NB plus version for $55 thinking the noise cancellation will perform poorly for the price. Surprisingly the active noise cancellation works really well. Used it on a flight and i would say it was able to cut out 90% of the engine noise.

When I put them on you can hear the one way air valve releasing the air from inside the earpads as you push against them. This creates an airtight seal for the noise cancellation to work correctly.

Battery life is around 12 hrs with noise cancellation on.

The only dislikes I found is the size of the earpads. It's on the smaller size, so if you got big ears it may not fit over them and you need a really tight seal for the noise cancellation to work effectively.

Highly recommend the w820nb plus, it's 59 on Amazon. And if you don't like them you can always return it.

    • plus model's all new internals from what i've read

I bought mine for $75 and I'm happy with it. Install wavelet and be presently surprised

      • Did not know about wavelet. Going to give it a try as the built in app eq is too basic. Thanks

    • How about when using on noisy office environment, on ms team calls? Will the other person hear your voice only and clearly?

      • No idea, I don't use it for ms teams. I bought it for long haul flights and for $55 it was worth every $.

I got these Edifiers and for the price perfect! Not sure of the difference:

    WH700NB: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CGTL9GFD - Now $50.

    Found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ7e1OhOhJI

    • Seems 700 is newer, bt 5.30

  • How can Edifier afford to support Hi Res for under $50, but Bose can't for $250 on their Quiet Comfort?

Then again, is there any point having hi res audio on a sub-$50 pair of BT ANC headphones?

    • Its called greed.
      Same as iphone vs xiaomi

Probably not. Also not much benefit on Bose headphones either.

The way the sound profile is configured on these type of headphones is always v shaped. You're not going go hear the improvements "hi res" codecs bring.

On a pair of Bose headphones you are paying for the R and D that went into the noise cancellation.

Edifier than turns around and just copies their design and sell it for $50 and still make money.
