I am still waiting for my last web extension order to be tracked…

    • Same, still waiting for my shopback tracking, same $2 cashback offered on the 21 Jan 2020. Hope it eventually pops up….

      • +2

I assume you both mean the bonus $2? That should show up around 31/3 per the terms and conditions.

If you're talking about the actual purchase to get the bonus, open a case and hope for the best, most/all shops track within 7 days.

        • not aimed at the above 2, but in general, people should carefully read the T & C of these deals. Will explain it all.

Happy & OBlord… if you are not referring to the actual $2 portion of those deals and your purchase was not tracked all, then yes, most likely need to bring that up with SB.

As far as I can see, there will be 2 lots of cashbacks with these deals. The normal xx% you get back from the place of purchase & later the $2 portion.

        • +2

No it means no tracking at all and I have deleted the extension as it works even less than the other method and don't have the time to be chasing up missed tracking that they will not pay anyway with excuses .

          • @vivviv10: To each their own. I've used it about 5 times, and haven't missed out once, so its 100% working for me.

  • Just bought something from Amazon today ;(

Not yet shipped but already a pending amount on card, too late to cancel?

    • No

    • I too have pending on my card. I just cancelled my Amazon order successfully I placed just before midnight and reordered.

      • Successfully cancelled and reordered, now I have 2 pending transactions.

Hopefully Amazon doesn’t charge twice, did the same happen for you?

This is just my experience, but the last cashback I had took months and months of hounding to get it paid out. I think it was the ASOS cashback for something I purchased in October.

The item didn't show as tracked until it was available in my account. I had to send several emails and follow up because I think if I forgot about it it would have just gone away.

All in all it wasn't worth it and in the future I wouldn't use it again. I know, turn in my ozbargain membership, but I'd rather spend that time elsewhere

I don't even care if it doesn't work, I would only buy something online if I'm getting a good deal anyway so if the Cashback works it's just a nice bonus - usually it's only a couple of bucks.

It all add's up though, I've already saved about $400 in less than 12 months.

      • +1

I agree. By far the best use for cashback providers IMO are the WISH cards.

And can I just say I hate these extension and jump-through-hoop ones.

But I'm still going to do it 🤣

    • After the x transactions, I just don't really care anymore. Unless it's a big bonus.
So far I have earned $700 bonuses from Shopback and Cashrewards combined over the last 6 months. It's nice to have

Just make sure you spend $5.50 on something (before shipping) as the $5 minimum spend excludes GST. Don't know why they make it complicated for people…

    • Made that mistake once haha. Bought something $5.08 so minus GST it's below the requirement

  • Just checking, do deals like this work with taobao?

    • why wouldn't it when it's a supported store?

      • Because it has a very weird "system". unlike, say, aliexpress/ebay/amazon, the cashback is activated on individual items instead of the website. The cashback conditions also say you have to pay using some kind of pre-deposited wallet, but I've found out it works fine with normal debit/credit cards too.

That's why I just want some confirmation.

        • Ahhh makes sense. You're lucky you even have an account and have purchased stuff. I've been meaning to make an account but it's hard even with google translate.

  • Woolworths Gift Cards via https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/buy-gift-cards dont track for extension so i dont think its included? what if you buy a e card via ebay instead?

My fear with web extensions is they can track all your data

Go to a bank? Potentially it captures your login credentials. All well and good until the extension data store gets hacked and you lose more than your cb

    • +3

Yea but there's something more valuable legally which you are giving these companies and that is your data and browsing habits. With the rise of ublock and other tracker disablers. Companies can make a load of cash off your data.

    • +2

That fear is false and they pretty much just track links that you click.

You can also make your purchase straight away and then delete it all together.

    • +3

I have a browser just for cashback transactions.

    • +1

It's more sustainable and profitable selling customer browsing/shopping data than pickpocketing individual's wallet.

  • +1

Nice ! I missed out on the $2 Cashback the other day so used this one to get a Romoss 20,000 mAh battery. 3% plus the $2 made me push the "GO" button. Thanks ShopBack and OzBargain for continually saving me money!

  • When I click the extension on Amazon using Chrome it doesn't seem to activate - is anybody else seeing this?

    • Try closing all tabs, redo the whole process. Make sure ads blockers not running

  • +2

$2 to allow them to track all your website browsing history. No deal. This should be a standard click through the website promo.
Don't let them start this as a standard way of getting the extra cashback

  • Can you buy Nintendo gift cards from shops listed on shopback?

  • So I'd read on OzBargain a while back that there were issues with Shopback not paying customers cashback earnings. Is this still the case? It's pretty much why I just use CashRewards as I've never had a problem with them paying cashback at all. Is tempting to join though cos that is a super cute logo lol

    • +2

I use both and haven't had a problem getting cashback from either.

      • +4

For the record, I've had more problems with Cashrewards than with Shopback. Shopback is my preferred choice in a like-for-like basis, for now at least.

        • Thanks heaps for your replies. Might join them then. Just a question though do you think you could use both CashRewards and ShopBack browser extensions together in the same search browser? I guess so right?

          • +1

@Lucky13: Can't comment as I only use the Shopback web extension, but no harm in trying, or using one with Firefox, the other with Chrome.

  • Bought a camera case. Hopefully this tracks.

  • +1

My browser app stopped working a few times. Just keeps asking to activate. I activate then it asks again. Never goes fully green.
    (latest Chrome on a Mac)

Shopback doesn't track cashback. Manual intervention required all the time. Saying from experience.

  • +1

Giving this a go, but I'm dubious as I've had OzB ShopBack bonuses rejected in the past for reasons that are untrue and never got the bonus. Have had more luck with Cashrewards, and a better system for raising queries, great communication.

Just use this offer to pre-order a half priced pizza for $6.48 @ Pizza Hut.

    • I did the exact same as you that day, did you end up getting your $2?

  • I took up this offer last night with AliExpress. I spent about $25 in total. When I got the tracking confirmation email overnight, I see the transaction has been broken up effectively into each item I bought, none of which individually will be over $5. Will I still get this bonus?

  • I haven't still received tracking email for the purchase i made last night. Anyone else experienced this?
