Well, this was sparked off by a deal here (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84953) stating that the Good Guys will sell this for the Aussie RRP of A$399.
I noticed on the weekend that Kmart is selling a bitching mortar and pestle for $12. Its 19.5cm across, so is plenty wide, and is made of polished granite.
