  • Very nice price from a reputable dealer. I can vouch for the quality of the headphones too, I'm buying another pair for my mother.

  • nice find!

  • Nice find indeed +1 ~
    Bought one

  • Has anyone been able to get the amp for ATHm50 from amazon … It keep saying it wont ship to my address

Read a couple old thread recommending fiio 5 or fiio 7

Any advice is more than welcomed

    • I've got the fiio 5. It's a little cheap (in terms of feel) but does the job. Don't expect it to last more than a day on full blast.

Having said that, i've got the above headphones, and i don't need an amp with my mp3 player

      • Get the E7 if you need a DAC/Amp. If you're not running it out of your laptop then just the amp should be enough

    • Hey I just found that by purchasing the Brainwavz M5's here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/88062 I was able to add FiiO E6 to the cart with FedEX shipping for only $56! I was looking for some IEMs with a microphone anyway so its worked out perfect!

Thanks been waiting for a good deal on thsee. I was also keen on an amp but Amazon don't seem to post to aus. I've found noisymotel.com.au and think I might purchase an amp from there, reasonable prices and free shipping

    • i have bought from noisymotel and can vouch they had only a few days turnaround on http://www.noisymotel.com/product.asp?ProductID=286 that i bought from them, use it all the time with my m50's, definately worth the extra investment if you dont have a better than average internal sound card or worse yet you're plugging it into your laptops external headphone jack, thankfully alot of phones these days are coming with internal headphone amp's so the portable version is sort of superfluous

      • I can also vouch for the reliability of noisymotel - give them a call Billy will be extremely helpful.

Also, these headphones run quite well without an amp. If you need the extra boost a cheap amp like the Fiio E11 will do more than enough to drive these well.

  • Just put in an order for one of these. Did some research and they seem like awesome headphones for the price. Although, I'm pretty shocked that the shipping is estimated to be between Dec 28th and the 10th of Jan. Any chance of it coming before the new year ?

    • At the busiest retail time of the year? Yes. Pay for expedited shipping.

  • been waiting for these to go on sale, great find +1

  • Great price. Was about to bite the bullet as I thought they would have better sound (being full size head phones) than the triple.fi 10. But then I googled this thread below and decided to stick with my triple.fi's.

Depends on what you want I guess. Personally I can't wear earphone for long periods of time, gets very uncomfortable.

    • I can take proper earphone .. but in ear hurts my ear …

  • Great headphones, just paid about $135 for the wifes pair a week ago.

  • Had a pair of these for two years, they sound superb and are definitely a bargain at this price. Anyone wanting headphones for music that will stand up with pairs twice the price, these fit the bill perfectly. Durable, rich bass, fairly good for studio work, work well through an iPod even un-amplified. Usual cost is about $140, so this is a good bargain.

  • Has anyone got these and can compare them to HD-25s? I've had HD-25s for about a decade and am wondering whether it's worth changing to these.

*no doubt I'll buy them anyway because they're a good price

    • I have both and the HD-25s is far superior

      • Thanks, that's reason enough to keep the credit card in the wallet. :)

    • Depends on whether you want on-ear headphones or over-ear headphones

I've found that if you have large ears, the HD-25s can get slightly uncomfortable (if your ears are sensitive to heating up), and the sound quality distorts a little.

Otherwise, HD-25 sound signature has been reported to be better :)

  • really want to buy another for myself…..

  • … mods please delete

  • just ordered a pair. had to jump at this for just over $100. the average price on ebay is approx ~$160 range

  • damn.. really don't "need" another pair of headphones but price is too good to pass :)

  • Thanks very much OP - just ordered a pair for myself.

  • Are these probably the best deal around $100 for over-ear headphones?

  • BTW If you pay with 28 Degree mastercard … its 108 ~

  • Pay in USD tho

  • Just bought locally for $160 - so good deal

Good if you like a clamp on your head :p

    • I have these head phones and.. A medium sized head I guess and find them very comfy wearing them even for long (2+ hour) durations (:

Bought the M50 non-coiled version a few months back when the price was similar from Amazon. Good headphones, but they are basically collecting dust on my desk. I've gotten use to the sound stage on my ATH-A900, which sound clearer for treble and mid-tones. Granted they cost about double the price of the M50, but I heard so many good things about the M50 I just had to buy it :S

    • You hear so much good things about them because of their cost, for their price they sound better than headphones up to 4x pricier (beats???). For 115 their sound quality is awesome. I bought mine in the black friday sales for about the same price and along with the e11 amp i bought i can say its the best headphones purchase ive made (and i own something like 10 different phones/iems)

Also the AD900's cost like 3x as much the M50's and are made by the same company so you can only logically guess that their sound will get better the more you spend (excluding beats/bose).

If you really want to bring these headphones to life, get your self a portable amp (my e11 cost 45 bundled with some R1 iems). Best 45 bucks ive spent all year.

      • Where do you get ur e11 ?
        R1 items ?

Sorry i am quite new with this still ~

        • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85752 - the deal has changed a bit since then, has gone up by like 3-4 bucks, but still a great deal for the best imo iems at this price range, and ive tried quite a few. As i like bass these sound even better to me than my M2's.

You either get the mic/no mic type, and then choose your amp from the drop down menu.
Edit: the no mic one is out of stock.

    • collecting dust?!

      what a shame..

looking to make some extra do$h since its christmas time?
i'd happily undust and take them off your hands =)

  • Bought one, the reviews look pretty good.

    • Rarely is the review for these headphones negative. For around the $100 mark when it is on sale, these would be the one to get.

  • is it a close can?

    • +1

      yea they are

      • thanks

  • Surprised people didn't jump on this deal as much as I anticipated. Price went up to $124.41 excluding shipping :/

    • they've been on sale for this price many times before. I'd say every ozbargainer has one by now ;)
