Not really. Cards issued by American Express Australia are also participating.

    • It's funny though with the other BingLee promo I used my AMEX issued AMEX (The Qantas Discovery card) and it worked and I got my $30 CR back.

  • Hi can i ask, how do you get to know about these offers? When I go to http://www1.amexnetwork.com it doesn't seem to show the Rebel deal straight away, I have to click on your link.

    • i saw it on their facebook page

      • Rebel or Amex?

  • +1

Dang! Just bought $52 goggles yesterday from Rebel, and now looking for the receipt ~~~~

  • There's an item i want and its $49.99. If i include delivery, will that be valid?

  • Just note this condition:

Participation is limited to the first 5,000 Cardmembers who register (“Registered Cardmember”).

  • Not sure if i will get the $25 statement credit but i did successfully register with my amex issued card.

  • I was wondering am I the first 5,000 Cardmembers who register.
There is already 3073 clicks right now…
I successfully register with my AE card and got a email saying Thank you for registering the offer,…..

    • Yep… if it says this
"Now that you have registered, to be eligible for the $25 credit back on your Card you must spend $50 or more in a single transaction on your registered Card at Rebel by no later than 9 December 2012. Statement credits are generally issued within 5 business days of an eligible transaction."
      …then Happy Shopping :)
Clicks are just people that viewed the offer, it does not reflect the number of people who have taken it up. Loads of people don't even have Amex cards but still want to have a squizz to see what they are missing out on… offers like this are essentially a marketing tool that benefit those in the know :) Hooray for Ozbargain!

Shirley, you must be joking. You enter your details which takes about 30 seconds. Then you either spend or you don't. If you happen to spend $50 on Amex there you get $25 back, without doing another thing.

Please tell us us how this could possibly be any easier!

      • +1

PeeDee's right…I had to stop scrolling and reading for a moment to move my cursor to the link, click it and enter my details in the three or so fields. It was easier than typing this reply and took an entire thirty seconds and only for $25?!

  • How do you know if your one of the first 5000 people?

    • "@ HB01…How do you know if your one of the first 5000 people?"

you get an email from them confirming pretty well straight away

      • I found this misleading. Was there really an email sent out to confirm?

When I registered the web site response was that I had registered successfully. But I did not receive an email at that time.

I made a purchase of a gift card which I received on Tuesday and the charge appeared on my account on Tuesday. On Thursday 2.03am I received an email from Amex:

Congratulations! You have completed all qualifying transactions on your
        registered Card ending in xxxxx.

Your $25 statement credit for spending $50 or more at Rebel will be issued to your registered Card account. Statement credits are generally issued within 5 business days upon completion of your eligible transaction.

  • Awesome deal! I'm going to buy $50 worth of energy gels and save them for the next byo Slurpee container day…

  • Good deal for anyone needing something at Rebels.

  • Anything good to buy for around $50? Everything seems rather overpriced…

    • Everything seems rather overpriced

I thought Rebel can do price match.

  • It should work at Rebel's outlet store, like the ones in harbourtown, vic. right ?

  • +2

there is an additional 20% store-wide at rebel sport harbourtown Melbourne to save more !!!

  • Good price for a Wilson Blade 98 BLX tennis racquet - $104 after cashback.

    http://www.rebelsport.com.au/eng/product/wilson-blade-98-blx…

Bought one today after registering my AMEX card. It is apparently a very popular and well reviewed racquet for intermediate+ players, only on sale because the model is being superceded soon.

  • If you guys want to use two AMEX cards for a single item, are gift cards the only way? I assume a single virtual gift card with two top-ups could work (2x$50)?

  • went to rebel twice - couldn't find anything that i liked. any good deals?

  • are virtual gift cards emailed and available for use immediately?

  • I'm a student, any chance of getting an AmEx card?

    • Talk to your bank.

  • WOo got 3x$25 credit back on my 3 amex's!

  • Can anybody please confirm buying a gift card and receiving the cash-back successfully?
    Thanks

    • +1

Yep, worked for me with the Gift Card (twice, a bank issued + direct issued card); in fact, given that the wife wanted to buy something (that was less than 50) it worked out better, as we then used one of the gift cards for that item.

    • +1

I bought a gift card and I've received the email from Amex saying I will receive the credit.

      • 28 Nov 2012 REBEL SPORT LTD BANKSTOWN AU 25.00 CR

Interesting that Rebel Sport are issuing the credit and not Amex.

  • I've registered my amex, brought something at rebel but still got charged normal price on the receipt… When and how do I get the credit? (Item was $60)

    • You should get an email, and then a $25 debit applied to your credit account in the next day or 2.

      • It's a $25 credit to your account (not debit).

        • Thanks, I was never very good at accounting… You get the money back is the idea :P

      • Ok thanks for clearing that up

  • i would suggest get rebel to price match first. check out a mart sport…same stock same sales. think they are owned by rebel

  • For how long are the wish cards valid?

    • 1 year

  • Just had my email to say $25 credit on the way for me

    THANKS To
    Undercut

  • Forgot all about this. The offer said its valid til the 9th. Does that include the 9th?

    • nvm, read the terms and condition, its valid til: 23:59 (AEDT) on 9
      December 2012.

  • I ordered two items but only received one. The invoice lists both, but the second item is "0" under "Quantity Shipped" - I presume they're out of stock. Problem is, only the first item was charged ($29.99), which means I haven't actually spent $50. What now? Do I ask Rebel or Amex?

  • Those turds at rebel took so long to process my order and finally charged my amex yesterday so I guess i won't be getting the $25. And I didn't even want speedos, only bought it because the $25 was so enticing. FUUUUUUUU

    • +2

at least you can fight crime more stylishly now!

    • Yeah, they haven't processed mine yet either. I wouldn't have bought from there otherwise. I've sent them an email, but they said it could take a week for a reply. I'll probably contact Amex network as well. I'm not settling for no refund…

      • Which email address did you use?

        • I sent it though my american express account, there doesn't seem to be a specific email for amex network.

  • what about this one from the deals ?
    [email protected]

    • Tried replying to that first and got this "This message is automatically generated. We are unable to respond to account
inquiries sent in reply to this e-mail. To contact your Card issuer by phone
with any questions, please call the number on the back of your Card."

  • How frustrating… My order was stuck as an 'open order' so wasn't charged and won't be shipped, due to a 'glitch in the system' So looks like I missed out on the offer.

The thing that makes this more frustrating, and somewhat suspicious is I tried to buy in-store the day before and my amex kept being declined for no reason ($0.00 balance) even when I went back 20 mins later. Hence why I decided to just do it online.

    • well i got the cards but even i had a problem swiping my amex at rebel sports.. the gal at teh couter tried 2-3 times and i eas entering the pin.. then she said try signatures and it worked…

      • mmm… I should have suggested that, my girl wasn't that switched on.

I've sent a complaint email to rebel regarding their service. Hoping for a $25 gift card, but I don't like my luck given the shite service so far.

      • Do AMEX cards support pins?

        • I believe the Bank issued ones do ( maybe just check with your bank)
I may or may not have an amex issued one…and if i did it would not have a PIN ;)

        • I've got a Qantas Amex card, which I believe is just Amex issued and it has a pin. You had me worried there, but there is a "YOUR PIN" section of my online account.

        • Ahhh ok. Mine is by ANZ, and whenever I use it, the terminal automatically displays "Signature required". I should see if I can get a pin set up.
