November was a big month but the two highlights were featuring in The Age / SMH and the OzBargain10 shopping event.
The article in the SMH / The Age
Did featuring in the newspaper make a statistical difference to OzBargain?
A: Not much at all from their online articles.
The Age was ranked 26th and The Sydney Morning Herald 30th in referrals in November:
26. theage.com.au 2,885 (vs 996 in October)
30. smh.com.au 2,356 (vs 1,880 in October )
Weirdly enough the OzBargain article wasn't #1 on SMH but instead this Olympics article from August generated 482 sessions for the month (OzB article: 189).
Even with the added traffic, news.com.au finished as the 19th referrer with 4,591 sessions. With just 1 link in the story about the recent flight error to Paris & Rome, news.com.au brought us a bit more traffic
Online is only 1 part of the picture. The story was featured in the print versions of the SMH & The Age + some smaller Fairfax publications around the country. There is a good portion of the population that still gets their news through the daily print media.

187 deals were posted on Nov 21 to coincide with OzBargain10 but no competition with Black Friday which had 284 deals posted on November 25. There is probably a lot to write about our first experience in hosting a shopping event, so maybe we'll go a bit more in depth in a future post.

gnv9 — posting the most competitions last month — 309. That's average 10 competitions posted each day, and most popular being Win Samsonite Lite-Shock Suitcase.
