I got this for free when they gave existing DiRT 3 owners on Steam a free upgrade to the Complete Edition some time ago. It's a great game.
That explains why I have it already then.
Was that something to do with removing GFWL?
Yes it's because of the move to Steamworks. Every body who already owned DiRT 3 on Steam at April 2nd last year got a free upgrade to the Complete Edition.
"As a thank you for your patience over this last year we’ll be upgrading everybody who owns DiRT 3 to the DiRT 3 Complete Edition, which will include all of our DLC for no extra cost.
If you currently have the GFWL version of DiRT 3 in your Steam Library you will shortly have access to the DiRT 3 Complete Edition which will appear in your list of owned games. To play it simply select it from your library and click install. (If you are checking just after I post this give it a while to filter through)"

So peoples who already owned the original DiRT 3 on Steam should check and chances are the Complete Edition may already be in their game library.
The current Humble Unreal Engine Bundle is also ace. Don't bother with the top tier one, but for US $4 odd the rest is great.

This reminded me that I have this game.. So I went to play it, but it's lost all my progress (thanks, Games for Windows Live!). Can't be bothered to start over :( Oh well, it's still a great game, just unfortunate that it's GFWL.
GFWL has been removed from this version. It's just Steamworks-based now.
Edit: Saves are not cross compatibile with the old version of the game, so you'll need to start a new one.
Ah, it appears I also have the "Complete Edition" - I had the two confused. The original Dirt 3 used GFWL, I guess I'll start over on the complete edition :)

Maybe they are hoping to convert people to dirt rally customers if they discover they like the rally genre.
Dirt 3 and dirt rally are not much alike though. Dirt 3 has more similarities with Forza Horizon 3 than Dirt Rally.
Is dirt rally open world or something?
@Gravy: No, just arcade vs simulation, and dirt 3 has lots of different vehicle types and game modes.
Encourages people to link their Steam account (since you need to have it linked for this). They're after stats my guess is, to see what people have in their library so they can optimise their deals.

@angre: Login to Steam. On the 'Games' tab on the top, select 'Activate a product key'. 'Next', 'I agree', key in your game key, 'Next', and you're done. Enjoy!
