            • @BradH13: Ditto. Saving a couple of cents of interest on my mortgage by paying over time, so works out for me 😅

  • When does this deal expire?

    • +1

When the pre-orders end i.e. 21st August as phone will be released on 22nd.

    • According to JB website, offers end 21 Aug, 2024
Probably something similar might appear again when the non-XL pro is available

  • +1

Thanks OP just signed up for this deal today and actually walked out with the $350 gift card in hand. Selling the Girlfriend's iPhone 13 pro max and upgrading her to this. Ultimately works out to be $1012 - $750 for the iPhone -sale on marketplace - $350 for the gift card. Basically ends up being we swapped a phone for a free phone and $88 gift card, not bad.

    • How's the girlfriend gonna feel about going from Apple to Android?

      • She's had Android before so shouldn't take too long for her to get used to, she's mainly excited because side by side the screen is so much better, camera is hard to tell because the screen being so much better the camera will seem much better quality. Meanwhile there's me with my Moto G54 because I break phones all the time and this has been slid off a desk at supersonic speeds and not a paint chip crack or scratch in sight on it 😂 this new Pixel design also has a more iPhone feel to it in hand now definitely more premium feeling than the 7/8 pro

Spoke to the guys at JB and they're claiming I will have to pay back the $1700 voucher fee upon cancellation 😵‍💫

    • +3

This has been discussed in all previous 10 pages in detail, so lets not go there again 😅
JB App shows $800 cancellation fee under plan details.

      • Haha cheers mate. I've signed up anyways prior to reading your comment. The JB guys threw me a little when they said I had to pay the $1700.

        • +1

Ask them to show you the maximum voucher repayment fee in the critical information doc. It's because their base promo is $800, not $1700.

Just went and signed up in store.

  • Is there anyone else that’s still have the order stuck at “in progress”?

Just getting a bit impatient already and the JB people at Canberra CBD were refusing to listen what the technician at the JB team via Telstra has to say (they asked me to tell them to reprocess the order but JB refused)

    • +4

It's saddening to see the person who posted the deal getting the raw end of the deal :-(

3 visits to the same store and 1 phone call to Telstra and still not resolved

At this rate I should have just hopped onto the Gerry’s deal and suck the $350 pre order bonus and for contributing to Gerry

    • Mine was stuck in progress for 24 hours.

I contacted JB online support, Telstra online support. No progress.

The store manager contacted support and that made a difference.

Did you transfer your number or did you opt for a new sim?

My gut feeling is that they have a massive backlog somewhere.

      • I opted for a new sim

I’ve really hit a road here, not so sure what to do now

I just don’t want to go back to the same store as they’ll see me as a frustrated customer. I’ve been extremely patient with them already

        • I can understand that it is stressful.

Telstra chat told me that they will not do anything until after 5 business days.

You can also get onto jb chat and ask to speak to a supervisor. It is all about you coming across as a 'pain in the pain' when you talk to them so that they will resolve the issue. Good luck.

          • @vegemite2008: Thanks - I have disputed the transaction via NAB for them to investigate. Hopefully this might move things faster since there’s a chargeback to Telstra

        • Don’t worry. Sooner or later it will be resolved. Nevertheless, I am sure your deal is guaranteed. Don’t stress.

Hopefully they will bring back the same deal for the new Iphone 16 will be keen

  • -1

Does anyone know if I can return the phone and change to another phone?

    • forgot to mention, from 9 to xl

      • You already have the phone?
You'd have to ask the store.

  • -3

Nice - Pixel 9 is far better than iPhone 16

  • Mine order is also showing in progress. Ordered yesterday and still no update.

  • For those stuck in progress, did you pay for the phone yet? Mine is still stuck since yesterday but I was able to get the voucher and pay for the phone at the time of sign up. Seems like I could just pick up the phone regardless of status?

    • +1

Yeah, that should be the way to go for those who have their Plan stuck in progress.

      • My local JB refused to give me the voucher for the phone until the order turns to completed

As of today, it is still in progress lol

        • Mine bypassed the system by getting my new phone number (from the mobile plan status screen) and entering it into another screen which allowed them to generate the voucher.

          • @padman: You’re lucky because they’re technically not allowed to hand the voucher to you until your order has been finalised by Telstra

            Legally I mean lol

        • When mine was taking a long time to tick over from inprogress the JB guy said he could allow me to pay for the phone outright, so that the preorder could go through and then refund me the money once the Telstra order went through. I opted to just wait and mine was fixed after a long while but maybe you could go that angle…

Another idea for yours taking so long, maybe you've been flagged for getting so many numbers. Maybe you can't go through the automated system and someone needs to manually review that you're not a dealer or someone who is burning numbers. "Nah mate, just making use of these sick deals"

    • That's a great excuse to cancel the plan and retain the phone

  • How long is the sign up process at JB took? I plan to go there after work today

    • It will take around 20 mins

    • If you already have a Telstra account, it takes only a few minutes to add a new plan.

  • Do i cancel the plan today after it being active on JB Mobile app from last evening ?

Do ull suggest i wait for the phone & GC after which i cancel plan through the JB Mobile App?

    New to JB plan :)

    • +2

Better use the plan/data for a month since you already paid for it and cancel a few days before the end of 1 month.

  • Possible to order from jb and pick up at a different jb store instead. Planned to sign up jb near my work and tomorrow can be pick up near my home instead.

    • +2

Yes. Someone earlier in this post successfully did that. You probably just need to let them know you want to collect the phone from your preferred store

    • Yep, I was planning on doing this then got the Telstra sign up delay. Now I have to go back to the same store tomorrow to finish the order, once the telstra sign up has finished, rather than just pick up at a more local store.

  • Anybody knows if the devices are available on stores as display models at JB?

    • still waiting for that sms from JB Hi-fi

    • +1

Yes, YMMV depending on the store but my store had a 9 Pro XL and a Fold. Only the 9 Pro XL was on display but the Fold was 'out the back' and if I had wanted to see it they would have gone and got it.

  • Is 128gb storage enough? Trying to decide if it's worth going up to 256gb. Use Youtube music and will be using it for photos and video etc. Don't really play games on the phone

    • +3

If you don't have kids then it should be enough lol

    • I ordered 128GB. I have 100GB available on my Google one drive and I don't store music on my phone, so seems to be sufficient for normal use. I just stream music using YouTube premium.

    • +1

My old Pixel 6 is only 128gb and its driving me insane! Upgraded to the Pro XL 256gb with this JB offer in an effort to ease my storage pain!

  • Last day deal jumper chiming in. Hopefully be able to pick it up this weekend.

  • I ordered the 512 XL, painfully slow process at JB even though I was a Telstra customer.
After 40 minutes they took the $497 price difference and advised due to volume of preorders they weren't able to finalise the order on the system but it all should come through today.

  • Anybody tried or checked with the stores who already had the phones in stock if the phones would be made available for collection today?

    • +2

Strictly no early release they told me.

      • Sad. I've seen people on whirlpool getting their phones delivered today.

  • I am on boost. If i port to optus prepaid and sign in for this deal will that work. Or system will deduct. I did this long back not sure if i can do still. Anyone tried?

    • Should work, but better get the plan on a new number if you plan to cancel it. If not, still you can jump on the chat and request to move the plan to your existing number.

      • I don't have plan to cancel. I want to keep my old number.
Post sign in,will they allow us to move the plan to new number? do i have to pay the cancellation fee.

        • In past I subscribed a similar offer on a new number and later on moved the plan to my existing number.

          • @OZBsince2018: Did you wait any specific period or changed immediately?
I can port my boost to other network now and wait for 30 days. And then call/chat Telstra to move my new number to my existing number. will this work?

            • @lasiafjmc: If you take this plan on a new number, then you need to have your existing number as a Telstra prepaid SIM, so that you can then request Telstra rep to move your plan from new number to existing number and it will then be converted from prepaid to this $99 plan.

    • wont work as sim must be off telstra’s end for 30 days at least, you would need new sim to cancel.

  • Anyone have taken 2 phones with this offer ? I have taken but planning to take for my wife as well, but she is not working so I guess need to take in my name. But unsure if I can take 2 services at once.

    • It's up to the credit check gods.

      • Hmmm .. But where the credit check actually happens. Is it inbuilt in software? Because when I took he just took my details and gave me the plan.

        • +1

It's on Telstra website. They take your details and ask for your income. Pretty basic credit check I would say.

        • +1

they have database regarding your credit history already. They may ask you a couple of questions as in employment, address etc. so they could update your details in their system should there is any changes they're not aware of.

          They = credit reporting bodies.

    • I don’t see a reason why can’t you have multiple plans. Better go and check.
I had an existing Telstra month to month plan under my name, and was still able to get another plan under this offer.

      • Yes planning to go and check today evening. Was in dilemma until now if it's actually required, but being such a great deal why not 😀

  • Can I do the same for Samsung Flip 6?

Planning to take both Pixel and Flip

    • Only if they have the same offer for the Flip. Which they don't now.

      • I can still see the banner but they aren't offering extra vouchers.

        1600$ off 1799$
        so I guess basically paying 199$ + 99$ upfront.

  • Reading people are receiving their orders today. Wonder if JB will play ball and release early

    • Only 1 way to find out.
I called JBhifi store and they said "No" then hung up on me.

    • Might be the pre-orders made directly from Google.

    • I got a no too after visit the store, he mentioned they got stock but they can't release today.

  • Bit of a mixed bag of direct Google orders and Optus online orders.

    • They posted them yesterday, I think. So some people in metro area could get them delivered today.
Pick up isn't available intil tomorrow.

  • Anyone in Adelaide successfully completed and pick theirs up?

  • +1

Just signed up at Elizabeth St store in Melb CBD…..took around 5 mins all up…

They have the P9PXL (both 128GB & 256GB) in black in stock so can pick up tomorrow along with GC otherwise will need to wait till next week for all other colours….

Sales rep confirmed ETC is $800….

  • +7

Finally I got an update on the number that I called to the JB activation team.

In essence, JB (profanity) stuffed up my order. I asked for a new number but rather they did as a port in and there’s no number entered

Now I have to wait for another update for my cancellation. Profanity stuffed you JB - no updates to your own customer

To add to this, I can’t sign up to another order until the current gets completed/canceled

    • I overheard the sales rep mentioned the Telstra portal has been playing up and there was an outage late yesterday arvo…..

Also just to be clear, I opted for a new number so no porting was required…

      • Nope - mine should’ve been activated within 24-48 hours, but took more than a week just so that I can reach to the correct team (and still stuck as “in progress” to this day)

JB mobile sales team had completely put through a port in order (when I requested it instead as a new number), and since there’s no current number filled, this has been stacked ever since. The incident ticket I raised had made progress but the JB activation team said I have to wait and not put through any new order

JB should have at least informed me on this but rather I had to waste time and effort - if there’s a way to make a complain to that store I would

Because of their mistake, now my dad won’t have a new phone for Father’s Day/Christmas present

        • Oh I didn't read your full comment and thought it's all resolved.

Probably they should still be able to give you same offer later as well given its fault from their end …

          • +1

@Yogi555: I just don’t even want to step foot at the store ever again after I have submitted a formal complaint

In essence from what I learnt - if the store process the order correctly then you’re good; if not then you’re in for a ride

        • You can submit a complaint to the particular store:

          https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/requests/new

Click the drop down and select store compliments and complaints.

Took them about a week to respond, though, for my earbuds.

        • Did you walk away with a full active sim though? just leave it 'in process' for ever and use the sim indefinitely haha

          • @OnlyFans: I haven’t checked, will test it out later tonight

          • @OnlyFans: Doesn’t work, inserted the sim into my spare iPhone. Page doesn’t load at all, only half way through

        • that is sad , I went to the store today and ordered 2 under my name (went with my wife and the guy said u can have two under your name, I said ok). The second order he put in completed within few minutes but the first order did not. He said come back tomorrow . My first order is still in progress. He did put a new number (not a port in ) so I guess telstra has a weird system

    • yeh i opted for the new number too and also got stuck with the activation about 30mins….he then mentioned the usual that it may take 48hrs tada tada…after I walked out it finally came though my email &SMS and the staff call me back in to do the gift card thing. All sorted.

Tomorrow will be pick it up first thing.

    • Did you call Telstra or JB?

      • Telstra couldn’t help as it’s not their system. They transferred me to a JB specialist team within Telstra

        • @BargainsGrabber

Hope this gets all sorted man.

They definitely should be putting this offer through after tonight since they screwed up. Hope you get some sort of compensation for all this trouble.

I missed out unfortunately on the regular 9 $0 upfront as I couldn't make it in after work this arvo but hoping the 9 pro (non-xl) has something similar so will probably jump on that. Was looking at the regular 9 for family member as the xl was too big.

Loving these deals. Didn't know about them before the 7pro came out. Had been buying all outright before that.

  • If I order it on the website it comes to over $1800..Do you just cancel it to get the money back from the plan? Do you have to call them or go in store? Or would it be easier to go to JB HiFi and show them?

    • In-store only deal
You need to have your Telstra plan activated before they can issue you the $1700 voucher for the phone

Speaking of which, if one couldn't make it to the store by COB today I guess it's gone deal then?

    • This deal is only available in-store.

  • So, what do you all reckon, will we be able to pick up our orders tomorrow?
