Sorry, have searched deeper and found it $632 at Amazon, : https://www.amazon.com.au/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-512GB-Black/dp/B…

My bad didn’t do a better research before posting the deal

    • UK model

      • +1

        Fair enough 👍thanks

      • +1

UK model still works fine in Australia.

    • +1

Even at $632, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5g isn't worth it. It's commonly found in 3rd world country for half the price or less, and the Note 14 Pro+ 5g Global ROM is coming soon anyway.

      • +4

Are you living in a third world country ?

      • +2

It's worth it for local warranty and if you are porting to JB hifi. You get it in hand and don't
have the risk. The 14 isn't that spectacular as an upgrade but we are talking 500 plus on AliExpress for the 13 pro plus and you'll pay gst on that so it's about 600 plus delivery so around 650ish.

As a tip, set up as Singapore initially which will enable the Esim and then switch the region to Australia if you find Esim disabled for some reason.

can this make 000 call with Volte? otherwise will be blocked by service provider isn't?

    • +5

They block them even tho they can make 000 calls .they did mine .

      • Yeah, Telstra and Optus blocked my Redmi Note 10 also, still have data and messages working

on Voda, just no calls at all. Do you think this is a settings config problem?

      • Can confirm. I have a Xiaomi phone which got blocked however I have tested 000 calls with and without a sim card installed after the 3g shutdown and Volte emergency calls works fine. We need to blame the government for introducing these messed up laws.

        • +1

Raise a complaint with the ombudsman and Telstra and other telcos will respond quickly. My Poco X4GT was initially blocked but now working as before 4/11.

    • +3

yep aldi wont work with TCL 20 Pro and yet will work with Optus.
I think the whole system is messed up.

  • +1

I believe it does. I have a friend who recently purchased the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G from Shanghai and he said no issues!

  • +1

120W charge is amazing, almost overkill

  • Surprised no one has mentioned on here that the 256 GB/ 8 GB Ram version fair bit cheaper, $170 actually.

    • that is not the pro plus

      • OOps, my bad. Too many Pro's and +++ to trick or confuse people.

Will have to compare specs to even see now what the differences are lol.

        • +1

imo the pro is better value than the pro plus - buy when aliexpress codes are live but make sure its the global "version" - not just global "rom"

          • @avtek: Yeah, not much in it except faster cpu and rom, and faster charging if using all compatible

gear (lead and charger). Not buying phones from O.S. anymore after my Redmi N10 is crippled.

          • -1

@avtek: "global"?? All I hear from @clear is to stick with China ROM (version?), and sideload google playstore if needed.

            • +1

@wisdomtooth: hmmm - its quite possible clear knows better than me - ive always just paid more for global version so i dont have to deal with china roms and sideloading or custom roms etc - depends on your skill level

            • @wisdomtooth: No, global version is better. Runs out of the box but you'll need an adapter for the included fast charger.

              • @Cheapsize: This is about the rom, not the plug:

If you happen to get one with a "global ROM" you're going to be in a world of trouble because there is none. A seller stitched ROM from another tablet with an unlocked bootloader, no updates, bad performance and no Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD. — @Clear

                • +2

@wisdomtooth: Xiaomi is different in that they release their phones globally with the same model and have global versions. However on AliExpress it's possible to get dodgy flashed global ROMs with unlocked bootloader a bit you'll typically only see it on the Android tablets.

                • +1

@wisdomtooth: you are confusing version and rom

global rom is a china rom phone where the seller (not xiaomi) opens the box and installs a global rom over the china rom

global version comes from the factory with a global rom from xiaomi

                  go for the global version

                • @wisdomtooth: Nope I am not. Theres a Chinese rom and Global Rom or global version. Purchased my phone in Singapore from the Xiaomi store and was the global version. Starts up in English as default comes with Singapore charger and the play store pre installed. If you purchase Chinese Rom it will be in Chinese by default have no play store and have Douyin and Alipay pre installed etc.

Not sure if we get an Aussie adapter or not. Probably Sing or European charger plus an adapter in the box.

paid AUD 430 via Aliexpress last month, together with a Redmi earbuds active.

    • +2

That was good, u should have posted it 🤓

    • Works on all sims in Australia?

    • 🤡

  • +1

Poco F6 off AliExpress is another option

  • +2

This has no issues with the calling situation have the model down, honestly this is overkill for the price. Id recommended the pro 5g with the Snapdragon. I'm team Xiaomi since the Mi max. Literally been using redmi note pro 13 5g since February, posting on it right now.

  • Would a nothing phone 2a be just as good comparing price and specs?

  • Best mobile phone Australia has them for $605.

  • +2

AliExpress current price around $500 plus GST with no discount. JB phone prices for Xiaomi are absolute rubbish and a typical Australian corporation gouge.

My experiences with JB/Harvey purchased Redmi phones goes like this:

Don't own a Redmi Note 13 Pro+ from JB, but do own a Redmi 13 from Harvey Norman and right now can only make calls on WIFI calling for now with my Vodafone SIM-Voda is aware of this and still sorting the probs with Xiaomi, so swapped that out for my Boost and amaysim SIM which makes calls normally and on WIFI calling flawlessly on the Redmi 13-same with my Redmi 12 from JB Hi-Fi and Redmi 13C also from Harvey Norman , which makes calls on Vodafone absolutely fine.
    ..
My Redmi 13 IMEI/TAC checked out all A-OK as did my Redmi 13C and 12.

Asked Xiaomitech for the latest on all of this, no response yet folks.
