Excellent deal, can we also offset the price further by using the trade-in bonus?

    • +2

Terms on the carousel says no

      • My gut tells me you can as you’re getting 2 vouchers: one is the trade in credit and the other one is a coupon

Iirc one coupon has to be used against the same model that you requested the trade in offer (I believe this could be referred to as trade in coupon), but the other one is just a JB voucher code

  • Ive been off Telstra for less then 30 days, if i get a prepaid sim new number and sign up for this would i be eligible?

    • Just sign up with a brand new number to get the phone?

    • +4

You can just get a new number from Telstra directly when you sign up in JB.

    • Get a brand new number from JB , you're cancelling anyway

      • In the "old" days you could kindly ask telstra to port your "old" number over now to replace the new one but I believe this is either hit or miss now or no longer possible? So will end up with a new number…

  • Damit, Just signed new contract with JB yesterday 99/m, 1100 gc..

    • +1

Isn't it better value to use that GC on the outright purchase of the phone with the trade-in deal?

      • You can't buy this phone outright for $1100 from JB so I would say no.

      • I don't think so, from this deal, it can be seen 1700Gc

  • How is the value $766.59 calculated. Just wanted to understand if I cancel after 6 months is it the same value ? If that is the case, cancelling immediately will be the best option.

  • +1

How much is the cancellation fee for 512GB model?

    • +2

same as the 128gb model but you're paying the difference between the 128 and 512gb model. So about $1362.15 I believe

  • +7

Waiting for the half price pixel 8 pro deal

  • Isn't the voucher repayment fee in this instance, calculated on (23/24)*$1700: $1629.17? Given the voucher is $1700?

  • " If you cancel or move to a lower cost/different plan then you must pay a Voucher Repayment Fee to Telstra pro-rated against the remaining months of your plan’s minimum term. This offer is not available in conjunction with …"

      Buddy, here ya go!
Max voucher repayment fee is $800

      • +1

So $1196 total outlay for the 256GB model. Decent deal

    • Does this invalidate this deal?

As confirmed in the last JB Telstra deal, the cancellation would be $766.59 + $147 Google Pixel 9 Pro XL + $99 for the first month fee = $1012.59 for the newly launched Pixel phone!

    300GB a month for 24 months, $2523 including a phone that cost $850 probably.

    • Not sure how anyone thinks this is good value? Stuck on a 2 year contract too.

      • This is a pretty good deal considering many other carriers charge more than $99 a month for 300GB with no phone.

Or wait, this is 300GB a month right? Not 300GB for 24 months.

        • I think Felix is like 40 bucks a month for unlimited data if I’m not wrong.

  • Is the phone itself unlocked?

    • Yes

    • Of course, phones on contracts have always been unlocked. Only cheap prepaid handsets are locked.

Still rocking my Pixel 6. Its so tempting but I shouldn't haha

    • Same boat with pixel 6 pro, complained battery life earlier this year and got a replacement under warranty from Google.

      • Hey @FutureTech

Did you have to show them the amount of charge cycles / proof of battery drain? Also, did they charge you for the replacement?

      • Did you have to send in the old one?

    • Pixel 6 Pro here. Battery is still good, camera is great, has a Spigen case on it so no scratches or damage. Hold on to it!

    • Trust me, you don't need it.

  • Y'all got anymore of them Harvey Norman deals?

  • 6.8" ok that is close to my Mi Max size…. So tempting.

    • +1

wait what? Is the Pixel 9 Pro XL gonna be larger than the Pixel 6/7/8 Pro?? I might have to upgrade just for that even though I don't like camera visor change - but slightly more screen real estate is indeed tempting!

      • +1

Mate, size does matter. Don't want no folding/flip BS from the 90s. It's all about the huge chunk of glass real estate in my pocket.

        6.8-inch (171 mm) Super Actua display1 (LTPO)

      • and the screen is flat!

        • +2

You had me at flat screen! One of the worst thing on my s23 ultra is the curve!

  • +1

Can we order this now in store? Or wait till 22nd august?

  • I'm confused. I'm on a pixel 7 pro and the 300gb plan ($99) which is out in October. What do I do ?

    • +1

      wait till October.

      • +1

        Thank you :)

        • That was easy. And more concise than asking chatGPT too!!

  • Fool me once, shame on you,
Fool me twice, shame on me.

please share your experience… don't want to be fooled too.

Y'all know if I can port in as a new customer from Boost? (smth smth same network, not a new customer)

  • this or samsung galaxy s24 ultra?

    • Yeah I'm starting to get bored of the pixels and looking at Samsung because they always have newer exciting features

      • +2

And that's the reason I prefer Pixels, I don't want the gimmicky features and bloatware. 😉

  • What's the rule when porting out and back again? Porting out for a few days or?

  • +2

6.2 here says you need to repay 23/24 of the voucher?

    https://www.telstra.com.au/content/dam/tcom/personal/consume…

Can anyone confirm they’ve been able to recently cancel for 800 maximum after receiving a higher voucher?

    • Interesting as 6.3 states that you need to repay pro rata value of the voucher if you decided to leave early. That would negate the benefit

      • +1

I’ve shared 2 links above to help

  • +1

So when can I walk into a store and do this?

When will they have the phones in store?

  • +1

JB Website states that "The $1100 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card will replace the value of the Voucher stated in the Critical Information Summary" so would this mean that 1700 would replace the $800 in this case?

    • That's how I read it.
So 23/24 pro rata $1700 voucher repayment.

So $1629 is the cancellation fee according to the terms.

      • there's also a maximum cancellation clause which caps it. so not quite $1629

  • +1

Can it be a new number for an existing customer

    • Yes, that works

  • +5

Can anyone TLDR steps for this?

    1. Sign up for a new phone (Google Pixel 9 Pro XL 128GB $147) and a new number on the 24-Month 300GB $99 Monthly Plan
    2. Cancel the contract?
    3. Pay $766.59 + $147 Google Pixel 9 Pro XL + $99 for the first month fee?
    4. Enjoy a new phone for under $1,000?
    • +1

That's what I want to know, if that is correct

      • Me too

    • also how to cancel, through jbhifi or through telstra

      • Both way works - either JB Mobile app or Telstra

    • No,

      1. Sign up for a new phone (Google Pixel 9 Pro XL 128GB $147) and a new number on the 24-Month 300GB $99 Monthly Plan
      2. Pay $147 Google Pixel 9 Pro XL + $99 for the first month fee.
      3. Cancel the contract?
      4. Pay $766.59
      5. Enjoy a new phone for just over $1,000?
  • I don't see this on jbhifi website ?

    • The second banner on their home page

  • When can we signup for this ?

  • And where is this phone assembled? 😉

    • …relevance? 🤔

      • +1

Indian manufactured iphone 15 have had much higher fault rates

        • Alright, that's a fair case.

        • Source?

Unless you mean the parts have a higher rejection rate? In which case, it shouldn't affect you as the end customer as they won't make it past QC.

    • Probably majority in India, few in China

$2549 for the top model. When the hell did the Pixels stop being good value for money? From memory the top models were under $1000 not so long ago.

More than 10x the price of my $250 Moto G84 and with significantly less features. Insane.

    • +1

*hardware features. the pixel kills the G84 software-wise?

    • google phones stopped being good value once they dropped the nexus line imo

    • +1

What kind of features does G84 have over Pixel 9? Chop Chop Flash Light?

    • From memory the top models were under $1000 not so long ago

Yes it's expensive but this is a stretch. Show me where an absolute top of the line Pixel was <$1000 on launch.

I'd also argue that looking at the top spec is a poor measure of value.
