    Match $174.50 at Digidirect.

Note: This phone has issues with some telcos.

You'd think it would be ok if an Aus store is selling it.

Edit - Oh yeah I read some of the reviews. Wow that's bad!!! Surely that's against Aus Consumer Law.

      GSM Arena.

        the reviews are lol

and what a surprise jb hifi are gaslighting people who are doing a return

    • Presumably will be all telcos next week once they consolidate their lists

      • Care to share more? I currently have a workaround in place for my phone to work. What's this consolidation?

        • My understanding of the legislation is that come end of December all the telcos must be aligned on a single consolidated list.

Doesn't need to necessarily be a whitelist or a blacklist. But seems reasonable to assume they will go with the most conservative (Optus) to be safe…

          • @Balthraka: Do you have a link to this source? Very problematic if true

@shxhshzhz: s63 of the legislation includes a note which says:
"For example, if a carrier becomes aware that a mobile phone attempting to access the carrier’s mobile network is not configured to be able to access the emergency call service on either that carrier’s mobile network, or, if the carrier’s own mobile network is unavailable, another mobile network, it must notify any carriage service providers who are using the carrier’s mobile network, of that fact."

ss64-70 all have the same wording that the phone must work on the carriers network AND on all other carriers networks (which makes sense since E000 works by falling back to any available network to ensure you can get through).

s69 gives 35 days after 2 November to action the blocking of phones that don't comply.

I read of all that together to suggest that early January, the telcos will need to have aligned to not be in breach.

              • @Balthraka: I see my previous comments have been downvoted. Hopefully those downvoters will come in and provide their legal reasoning…

Workaround? I have been unable to find a way to make my redmi work after they blacklisted it… just wnat to use my phone when i have network (idont care if i have no band 28).

  • Doesn't work on Amaysim nor Coles (Optus).

    • Yes it does my phone works on Cole's it's this model .

      • No it doesn't my phone doesn't work on Coles it's this model .

        • Wow ok I don't understand that ,thats very strange apologies .

So Jbhifi still sell the phone not meeting Australia 4G standard? If it’s not working on my network, can I return it to Jbhifi?

    • They'll say it's not the phones fault but the network provider, which is BS.

Don't buy it. It's not even a great phone at $199.

Fyi my daughter has this phone also & connected with telstra working ok because Telstra had cut off her redmi note 10 pro that has band 28 etc but still got disconnected .

  • My Redmi 13 pro 5g is working fine and recently ported to Amaysim.

    • Im tossing up between the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Samsung A55 for the kids. Whats your thoughts on the Note so far?

      • +2

I won't touch Samsung again, after 2 years they drop the speed to the stage that u can't use your phone, I had really good experience with Redmi Note

  • Works flawlessly with my Voda SIM-yet my Redmi 13 can only make Voda calls on Wifi calling b even though the TAC/IMEI isn't affected but Voda and Xiaomi have yet to sort out all the whitelist issues.
