        • @JB1:

Honestly mate I've never driven a R35 GTR,out of my price range at this stage unfortunately. I did a quick google though and found a video where it appears to be doing the claimed time, don't really know what else to say. We could argue all daily over whether or not the manufacturers cheat on these tests, we just don't know.

I'm sure during testing they do these launches 100s if not 1000s of times and pick the absolute best one of the lot, like most manufacturers I'm sure. It seems most of the car reviews were getting times about 3secs so it seems within margin of error for me.

          https://youtu.be/l7hntrPeb1k

Also note it shows about a 0.1sec difference between 97kmh and 100, not the 0.3 or .4 that burnertoasty was trying to push as another one of his alternative facts lol.

        • @Burnertoasty:

Sounds very similar to your "vehicle facts" method i.e make it up. Lol

        • +1

          @brad1601:

Even Nissan dropped the 2.7sec 0-100 claim because it was always bullshit.

You'll get caught out when you overstate your performance times, just like the Mustang.

There are very few RWD cars that can break into the low 4s, hence why BMW and Merc are all going AWD to get better 0-100 times which is a sad fact.

    • +3

mustang is best car if you want to hit bystanders when leaving cars and coffee

      • I'm not a fan of yours Tony, but in this instance you're right, Mustangs love to crowd surf.

        • -1

Not hard to see why given the factory tyres are rubbish. Unless they are hot they are like driving on ice.

        • @MATTDAMON: Only soft when hot, just like a true lead foot needs 'em.

Remember cold performance doesn't matter to a Mustang driver. Once the engine is warmed up following the first 400m of tyre-smoking burn out the tyres are warmed up enough to proceed.

Anyway since when do the crowds get hit by the actual mustang- it is just the shock wave it leaves behind bowling them over.

All those vids of out of control mustangs on the net are hoaxes, btw.

    • Mustang is hideous though, close to worst looking sports car on the road just behind the WRX. Couldnt pay me to drive a Mustang, even forgetting the drivers airbag that doesnt work!

      • I guess that's a person opinion, as someone else mentioned they are outselling the 370z 30-1 so it doesn't seem like that's the majoritys opinion.

Honestly if the Z had forced induction like the old 300zx did, I'd be all over it however a 3.7L 6cyl doesn't really excite me.

        • The 370Z is an 8 year old car which is a facelift on a 350Z which is 8 years older. It's almost a 20 year old design. I'd be surprised if any suckers bought them still.

        • -1

I thought most people preferred large displacement NA engines, curious why you'd go for one with turbo?

  • looks like a good deal, i might pick up a couple on the way home

  • +1

Too old, better off 20-30k for a pre-owned if one really loves this car (manual please).

  • +1

Is this good enough to use for Uber? 2 seater ?

  • I'm more of an Undead player

    • +1

      what?

      • For the horde!

  • Now the important question is, can I pick up chicks with this car?

    • +4

And put them where? Better to buy a Nissan Navara, you can put a cow at the back.

  • What's the fuel economy on this thing?

    • 10.6 I think, though like most cars you probably need to add another 2 in real world driving

      • +1

So are you saying the advertised fuel economy is a trap?

        • Not a trap but very unlikely to achieve that figure.

  • +2

Wake me up when they relaunch the Dato 1600 (with a SR20DET in it). :)

    • +2
    • So sad that I sold mine. I had just gone back to uni, the car needed some serious work done to it, rego was due, and I was broke. I got $3.5k for it and now you don't seem to get any change from $10k for a semi-decent one that still needs work.

If Nissan actually made the 1DX concept from a few years ago I would be at the front of the line to buy one

  • +1

    BARGAIN!!! Bought 3 Roadster 6MT

    • Couldn't resist! I got 4!

  • That. Looks. Hideous.

  • Been waiting for this deal . Thanks OP !!

  • +1

    8 year old car

    • +5

      60 year old policies.

  • OP can we get a buy 1 get 1 free?

  • In all seriousness, has anyone actually bought one from seeing this deal?
I would genuinely like to know.

    • Purchase like this is a major for most people and usually involves a lot of research and planning before hand. Unless someone is already in the market for one of these, I highly doubt someone can just buy one because it's few grand cheaper.

If someone does buy it, please let us know. Lol

  • +7

Does this really constitute a deal? More like a joke post really.

    By your logic….

Here's a link to a $35,000 white gold diamond engagement ring at its normal RRP

    https://www.thomasjewellers.com.au/White-Gold-1.50Ct-Diamond…

    • Omg made me choke

    • +1

To a point. I agree. Although this is a price reduction to new current rrp. If anyone 1 month ago was planning to buy….they now know from our family at OZb that it's cheaper.

    • Seriously!!! its cheaper at Costco … lol

  • +4

    Tesla

    Gimme a Tesla

    • +1

$150k entry price for low spec 75D. Totally worth it.

      • Model 3 on its way too!

        • In 2020 if you're lucky

  • +5

    I hate this car

    Bad:
Engine sounds so grindy and argricultual
Huge blind spots get old quick if you drive everyday
Interior design and material is terrible for the price

    Good:
    Pretty fast
    Not too bad on fuel
    Road presence

    Verdict:
    Don't buy

  • Interior is so dated unfortunately and not the nicest looking insider either

  • +1

Not enough to stop people from buying 86 and Mustang.

    • 86 is a brilliant car

  • +1

Dammit and I just bought a bimmer

  • -1

245kW engine in a 2-door! Unless you are towing a boat, that's a bit silly.

Mind you, it's also 1.5 tonnes. The Z-car has gotten fat with middle age. Would suit me if not for the kids :-)

    Interior is so dated unfortunately

    Its a retro car.

  • Thanks OP, bought 5!

  • +1

    GT-R is faster. No deal.

    • -2

no its not max speed is 110 for both

  • Better get one quick before miners start driving the prices up.

    • Where would they attach the P-plate?

  • +1

In all honesty, see if they sell. If they arent running off the lot in 3 weeks time and you want one I would be ringing every Nissan dealer in Melbourne and offering them $45K drive away.

  • why is RRP a deal? Shouldn't it belong to forum?

  • Im happy with my Mazda 3.

    • mazda 3s already cost around 35k for a nice sp25

      • Nope being a good ozbargainer I only paid 30k for SP25GT lol

  • +1

Can not believe this made the front page. Voting Negative because this is clearly 100% a case of "The deal is not the cheapest available." A quick search of carsales.com.au and one can find at least 4 brand new 370Z available for less than $49,990 DRIVE AWAY.

    • I never knew that new cars can drive 20km by themselves.

      • you should move your commen to the TIL section mate

      • +1

        That's normal pre delivery KM's…..
How does the car move anywhere without rolling?

    • +4

Voting plus because I would rather see a popular drop in RRP that doesn't quite fit the criteria than another free ebook

  • my dream car…. damn

  • Up voted to annoy the down voters

    • -2

I downvoted you to annoy upvoters who downvote the downvoter's upvotes.

  • +1

Just sticking with my 120Y and 180B

    • only Burnt orange 120Ys are true 120Ys

      • +1

Couldn't afford an original 120Y so got a mock up rebadged job. Had some Orange house paint left over from the 70's. She's lookin real good.

  • Can't believe they've kept this model running for nearly a decade.

  • +1

I prefer 350z but that's my subjective opinion no one asked for sorry

  • +2

Basic design of this car hasn't changed in over 8 years !!!, why would anyone want to pay 50k for this when they can get an early model that looks (and probably drives) exactly same for less than half that price ???

  • Pricing (MSRP*)

    Nissan 370Z NISMO
    Grade Transmission MSRP*

    NISMO 6MT $61,490
    7AT $63,990

    Nissan 370Z
    Grade Transmission MSRP*

    Coupe 6MT $49,990
    7AT $52,490

    Roadster 6MT $60,990
    7AT $63,490

  • -1

Nissan must be dreaming.. 60k for this??
This 370z is getting old & ugly..
Not sure what's happening to nissan they seem to have the ugliest cars on the road today like the Juke and new Patrol.

    • +2

Have you seen the Toyota CH-R and new Honda Civic?

  • I have thought 2 years ago I would buy Nissan GT-R. My pocket has enough to buy, but now looking for something bigger and good for investment then car is not the choice.

    • +1

My friend just bought the Nismo GT-R and new Honda NSX within a couple of months of eachother.

Cars are definitely not an investment, unless you are investing in your happiness.

      • +1

He must be the only person in Austrlia who bought an NSX.

        • He is the first one to buy. It is a white one.

Honda Australia have 2 more red ones in the country at the moment. I believe one may be getting delivered to a second buyer in Brisbane.

        • +1

@mattelinc: Seems nuts when the vastly superior Mclaren 570S is the same price.

  • +2

Can somone upload a copy of their receipt.

  • I have a theory that every OzBargainer has a Kia because of the cheap price and 7 year warranty..

    • -1

Either that, Camry (preferrably ex-fleet) or Falcon on gas.

    • My theory is that everyone here secretly owns/wants to own a flashy car but is too scared to talk about it lest they get roasted like that Westpac guy.

  • I have the Auto roadster and I love it. I paid less than the 'latest deal' 12 months ago because I spent half a day arguing for a discount and in the end they agreed just to get me out of the shop. It was also month end so I knew they would be more likely to do a deal. For Dollar v performance this car is hard to beat and it still get looks everywhere it goes.
I know not everyone can handle it, but there will still be Kias, slippers and soft sofas available for them.

    • Likewise, I got my Auto roadster in April this year. Its amazing to drive as a weekend car.

  • Rrp

  • +2

How the this no deal made it to the front page ?

    • How you learn English to type?

      • Sarcasm huh ? It was auto corrected by iPhone. Wonder where you learnt your typing skills ?

  • Upvoted even though I have no intention of buying. More of a bimmer 335/340 fanboi myself

    • friend of mine has a 335. Absolutely ripper of a car, but he's been plagued with every electrical gremlin known to man. At one stage the car was at the service centre for 3 weeks.

      • I have a 2006 320i so I get all the electrical gremlins minus the handling and speed.

        It looks nice though.

        • Nah, they get worse the faster the model can go.

Next time when you buy a VAG or a Jap car, the gremlin count and time off road will be even worse. New cars are just so way-worse, it is because of the unnatural things German management, designers and engineers do to each other to make every new model better and more desirable than before, and then what everyone else has to do to keep up. Or perhaps because the American's (who don't bother), and still can't make a push-rod chariot handle, let alone be reliable.

It's a failing of humanity, spending all its time and resources making such useless toys to avoid the fact that the world really is about to end.

    Ugly antenna on the convertible

I'd be interested in buying a manual Coupe for $40k (+ORC) but $50k seems a little too high
