      yes, part of android support seems to be the soc used, instruction set, features, etc. it’s not quite like an intel PC and windows where win 10 used to run on 5,6,7,8,9,10 gen chips. When a new soc comes out and they stop making phones with old ones, the updates and support starts to lag, I think it’s because the SDK comes form the SOC manufacture and there is little value developing new SDK for a new version of android if sales of the old SOC have dropped. Apple are different as they control the SOC and the SDK, motorola. oppo, xiaomi don’t , they depend on mediatek or qualcomm for SDK when a new version of android comes out.

      Eh once I discovered the qudelix 5k, a USB C/BT DAC, it sounds so much better than any 3.5mm smartphone jack.

      Funnily enough the qudelix 5k retails for ~$200, so as much as this phone! Ofc there are cheaper DACs, with the Apple one being shockingly good for the price ($15).

    This seems like a great publicity stunt to get a truckload of new ebay plus members. Put a decent phone for a couple hundred bucks and make it only ebay plus members who can buy it. Chances are 99% of people wont get it anyway as there isn't enough stock. Whether they sign up for free trial, one month or one year… Either way ebay wins.

    This would be a good starter phone for my teenager. But I'm not going to be fast enough to get one. I'm sure someone has a bunch of people refreshing to get the code and buys them in bulk to resell at 300 or more.
    If I can't get this one, I'm not sure what other phone would be good to start with a 14yo.

        Nah, my kid is quite good with being responsible for his tech.
        He's had a tough year this year. He's earned it..

        A few weeks ago, he got beaten up by a bunch of bullies at a local skatepark and he couldn't call me for help.
        It was an eye opener. He needs a phone. He also has to make photos of his school projects, so a cheap smart phone is what he needs. Not a dumb phone….

      It might not work that way. Product could be reset so your cart could be empty when its recoded for the new deal. Although nothing could change, being fine with it in your cart and you could just have to enter the code and thats it. Who knows how ebay is handling this listing.

      After considering all the reviews I've watched and online specs comparison between the s20fe 5G (snapdragon 865 variant) and this, I ultimately held myself back even though I was already in the last steps of the checkout process xD … in the hope that someone else would genuinely benefit from getting this deal.

      I just can't believe the s20FE is still pulling its weight after all these years against some of these newer release handsets. Just a shame they've removed the SD cards on current FE iterations.
