Apple iPhone 16e 128GB $0 Upfront with TGG Mobile $99 Per Month Plan (New/Port-in Customers, in-Store Only) @ The Good Guys

60

Is it possible to use the cancellation hack? Maximum repayment voucher is $800. So the maximum you will pay is 800*(23/24) + 79 =845.667?

Good hack if you don’t want to pay the full MSRP $999.

I saw comments under S25 preorders that people managed to get their first month $79 refunded, then it’s even cheaper.

The deal is also available at JBHIFI. The purchase comes with tax invoice, so you can also use tourist tax refund scheme.

Don’t buy this for Apple intelligence, it’s sooo bad and useless on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Save your money and get ChatGPT+. Best $20USD monthly I've ever spent, has saved me a lot of time and helped with my business a lot

Make sure you buy the punctuation upgrade pack.

        • “Save your money and get ChatGPT+. It’s the best $20 USD monthly subscription I’ve ever spent. It has saved me a lot of time and greatly helped my business.”

          The key fixes:
          ✅ Added “subscription” for clarity
✅ Changed the comma to a period to fix the comma splice
✅ Made “greatly helped” more concise than “helped… a lot”

          No upgrade needed ;)

This is bad because you regularly get $1.1k GC out of $99 jb plan.

But that’s before they capped the maximum cancellation to $800? Back then, they had voucher repayment fee and plus plan cancellation fee.

    • -8

Surely you can’t use $800 to generate $1100…

If this is true, I’ll take it as my full time job…

        You must be new here

      • If you tried preordering S25 but it's out of stock, you can get a refund. In this case you used $527 to generate $1387.

All that effort and a credit check to save $50. Not worth the hassle.

    • The previous ATL was $940ish?

Just about every fortnight there are 10% off deals on gift cards or 20x reward points offers.

        • I was thinking that too. Even better if you're planning to travel overseas and get the GST back too since you've got a simple tax invoice.

      Worse than the iPhone 5C?

Let me refresh you on pricing in 2013: $739 / 16GB, $869 for the 32GB iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S started at $869. iPhone 5 was $799 when it launched a year earlier.

The $739 tag in 2013 was not "cheap" but it was made cheaply. A plastic 32 bit phone with last year's processor and features or the 5S, metal, first 64 bit iPhone, first time TouchID was used, first coprocessor etc.

Honestly think this is Apple's best attempt yet (out of 5C, XR and 16e)

Oh yeah I remember anytime I saw someone who bought a 5C that year and thinking that wasn't a great choice (albeit as iPhone 5 stock dried up, it was the 5S or the 5C). At least with the 16E I don't think it's that bad a choice for some people.

    This or the Apple Newton?

    • +1

Newton has a stylus and upgradeable storage. Get that.

I just bought iPhone 16 instead. Was using 11.

  • They want $999 for that phone and they wouldnt include 5c worth of magnets in it. No thanks Tim.

    • Do you actually use the magnets? I found it to be way too hot, and my phone already overheats regularly on cable. I'm not up for an upgrade for another two years or so, I just find the debate interesting.

      • +1

yes i use them every single day for charging, in my car, to stick my stupid myki card onto the back of my phone etc

    • It’s a bit ridiculous, but there are at least MagSafe cases available to fix the issue.

Personally, I don’t use wireless charging (the thermals can only make the battery wear out faster, particularly in a car where GPS is also active), so it’s a non-issue for me. But if I cared, if buy a MagSafe case.

    Be aware.
If someone "regret" the purchase and cancel and pay early termination fee be aware the credit check will lower your credit score. Just to be aware if gonna take out a loan in near future. Doesn't change much but def lower credit score, mine did on previous purchase. Not worth the $150 if doing that way.
