    Now that's a bargain.

      HODL

    • @Grugq: buy this. Good battery saving practices can min. battery degradation & features are more than enough for 'first phone for kid going into high school next year'.

      HEAVY-users: beware 4300mAh battery…BUT can be forgiven considering many features @ $200 🤣, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15993866/redir

I did have faith: received a prior hint, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15998690/redir

      • Strange, I joined ebay+, entered BFMOTO & got this message 'Unfortunately, this code no longer works. Please continue with your order.' ?

Maybe a few only on offer, lol ?

Hold-on, OzBargain is getting massive hits & IT-system can't cope, lol.

        Watch this space.

It's likely that Motorola-AU will run another promo to move this stock, maybe slightly less discount?

        • -1

Yeah, i heard some talk about this while i was getting my haircut yesterday

          • @easternculture: If there's NO follow up promo, via logically deduction, something is wrong…the plot thickens.

FYI, NO retailers is able fund large discount such as this offer themselves. They're mostly support via Motorola-AU via rebate scheme. Retailers(Sydney Mobiles eBay) must receive something per device for services.

    • OOS it seems, managed to get one thanks OP

      • +1

Why the neg if you managed to get one?

        • Order was confirmed then "payment failed" after five minutes despite having ample funds for me at least.

  • +1

Why is this phone depreciating so quickly I wonder.

    • +29

      At $200, who cares 😂

      • who will release the code? ebay plus or the store?

      • I wish there were some phones like this when I was a student. Phones nowadays are more than enough for most of people.

    • Smallish battery, average camera.

      • +15

Battery size is compensated by the smaller screen and efficient processor. It's better than some 5000mAh phones

        • +6

          I don't know who negged, you're right.
I been using the neo now for nearly a week from the $300 eBay screw-up and it's far more efficient than the G54 I've come from and even then, the 68w charger will more than make-up the shortfall.

          • +1

@ConsumerAffairs: Yeah these neggers don't know anything and just neg away. I've read multiple reviews and battery tests on this phone and what I've said is correct.

          • +1

@ConsumerAffairs: I have the G54 and it's battery is garbage. Brand new out of the box it loses 50% by mid-afternoon for me! Anyway what i wanted to ask is how is the camera on this phone??

            • +2

@Iggemo: It's fantastic irrelevant of the price.
I was worried coming from the G54 but don't be, it's at least Galaxy S22 quality, maybe better and the telephoto is brilliant.
I wouldn't hesitate buying another one.
Unfortunate for your G54 battery though, I get 1.5 - 2 days from mine

            • +1

@Iggemo: W8 what?? I'm actually shocked by how long G54 battery lasts.. I'm streaming for like 3 hours and it does not use much of the battery. Well I do come from iPhone 13 mini which has tiny battery and probably heat issues but still, in terms of battery size I'm super happy with G54 :)

          • +2

@ConsumerAffairs: I have an Edge 30 which has mediocre battery but a fairly rapid charger (30W = 80% in ~15 mins). That's all well and good if I'm near a socket and have my power adapter with me, but when my phone is nearly dead and I'm out and about…. :(
I missed recording a lot of memories at EuroDisney, Paris and London, couldn't look any transport up, couldn't call the people I needed to meet up with. Luckily I took a power bank to just manage to keep my phone alive enough to use Wallet and my ID.
With a decent battery in the first place, you don't need such a fast charger.

The Edge 30 was marketed as Motorola's best ever camera or some such thing - what a load of baloney. It's the worst camera I've had in twelve years of owning budget - midrange smart phones.
Videos are even worse - just shocking. And it overheats quickly causing the recording to glitch every second or so too (although removing it from the protective case may help).

This sounds like a heck of a deal, and I would love to ditch my current phone, but this one seems to have the same shortcomings as the reasons I want to get rid of my current phone.

            • +1

@sam buster: The battery seems to be adequately sized for the chipset. If you are going to have a heavier than usual day of usage, keep a small power bank in your bag.

            • @sam buster: I have the Edge 40 and it's a turd too. Overheats and camera viewfinder lags like anything.

Even with factory resets and android 14 upgrade it hasn't helped. The UI doesn't work at 120fps either, other brands can get it right but scrolling is choppy and had issues with chrome scrolling for a long time too.

Sold it and got a Poco F6 and never looked back.

              • +1

@adrianhughes1998: Your Poco F6 still works in Australia??

                • @Iggemo: My Poco F3 got shutdown cos I'm on Vodafone in December last year so I sold it and had to buy the crappy Motorola.

The Poco F6 is on whitelisted IMEI, I checked XiaomiTech website, even though it's imported from AliExpress and it's the global model. Won't be shut down.

                  • @adrianhughes1998: Plenty of people have phones with TAC on that whitelist and they still got shut down, it's very arbitrary. Glad to hear yours from AliE is working tho! Are you on Telstra, Optus or Voda?

                    • @Iggemo: I've heard about phones on the whitelist but it seems that folks that bought after December last year seem to be ok, which seems to be the case with me.

Government are not handling this whole thing very well at all, whether it be imported phones or rural areas or whatever

                • @Iggemo: My F5 works perfectly on Boost

        • 100%

Had to get a new phone (Thanks telstra - yeha im still salty)

Last one was a 5000battery, this one is much better battery wise.
I'm guessing not just new, but yeah primarily the screen adaptability and the more efficient processor.

        • Apology: I've seen this a few times in technology paid-ads & don't pass the smell test: I'm calling out GsmArena review, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15993866/redir, https://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_edge_50_neo-review-2754p3.…

      • No expendable storage as a mod range. But for $200, what is expendable storage? Lol

        • +1

I'd prefer the storage in my phone not be expendable but as far as expandable storage goes, my last phone had 256gb and SD card slot but never needed it, phone was only ever half full but guess depends what you want to load it up with…

          • +1

@bamzero: I personally can not fill up a 128g phone, for some 1T is not much.

          • @bamzero: Preferences & practices ?
I'm testing downloading movie torrents (some 4K 5Gb+ files) on my phone & transfer-out onto my HD daily ? 128Gb is more than enough.

      • +11

        Come on, it's a $200 phone, it's EXCELLENT BATTERY , EXCELLENT CAMERA.

        • +2

its people like him that make phone companies not want to engage in the budget market… $200 and they expect all the bells and whistles.

      • 4300mAh battery: light users are fine & good battery saving practices can min. battery degradation & hence extend life, https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-808-how-to-prolong-…

        'average camera': sure Samsung/iPhone/Pixel delivers but @ $200 ?

    • Because OZ bargain got hold of it !

    • -2

becoz these are used/returned units. behold the crappy seal and scuffed/chipped edge when u get it

      • How do you know this?

      • Maybe Motorola-AU wants to increase market share ? They've being doing this since 2022, see their 50% clearance prices via OzBargain posts & Edge-20 models.

  • I'm guessing eBay plus will be required?

    • Hands down on your shoulder, it will be!

    • Successful order, invoice received :)

  • Is it only for eBay plus or everyone?

    • +1

      Plus

  • -2

Oosh, gonna try my luck and cancel my $318 buy! My bet is you'll be lucky to snag one!

    • +14

It will sell out instantly , I'd keep what you got.

    • -1

Unless you really need the money, it's a bad gamble.

    • I wouldn't gamble with it… gonna be OOS within 2 mins

      • +1

        30 seconds

      • +2

I proccesed an order 21 seconds after the deal went live, was OOS.

Honestly,it's why ozbargain sucks sometimes, the deals are great.

But ur just gonna get ozbargained lol 22k ppl where on the ebay page

      • if only you'd been able to truly guess the scope of the shetshow xD

  • This will set out quicker than the Roborock.

    • +4

What's it setting out to do?

  • Wow

  • Wow,someone's dream come true

  • +2

Amazing. Should be able to do 2 votes for a desk this good.

    • +4

So much for such a small desk :P

    • I had to get a new desk because my old one couldn't connect to 4g.

  • To OP, you better not post a killer A55 deal in next couple of days. my partner just opened the one from last deal. Lol

    • Don't worry, its' not possible with Samsung. The A55 at 36% off is the best they usually get.

      • What a relief. LOL

        • For an A5X series, it's a good price.

  • Yikes. That's a deal

  • +8

Hold. Will be $150 by cyber Monday

    • +18

I'll buy 2 and tape then together to form a foldable with 24gb ram and 512 storage

      • Engineered!

  • +1

Bought last week at $300, just received today and already opened box. Should have waited!

    • +8

I learned that we should keep everything bought before BF sealed until cyber Monday or at least after BF.

    • +1

Would "refund with old receipts" works with mobile phones?
Some seller record the IMEI of what they sell.

      • +2

Yes, at least officeworks record IMEI.

    • +2

It will sell out , for $100 more I'd be happy

    • Buy this one, then return it to the store you bought the one for $300 from and get a refund?

      • +3

I bought from mobile citi, it comes with a shipping slip having the IMEI printed..

    • I don't think much stock

    • -1

You buy this one and return box unopened

  • In before it all goes to hell. We can't have nice things, somehow the collective of us will ruin this. 😂

  • +2

Sydney mobiles is one of the most popular and reputable stores on Ozbargain

  • -1

Wow. I just bought a second hand G54 for $140. I'll hand in my badge now :(
