This tablet from Lenovo has been very popular previously due to offering high end specs at a lower price than its competitors and now it's back. This tablet is easily one of the best for gaming, media consumption and general use. The 8GB/256GB version with UFS 4.0 storage is available for US$244.39 (~A$393.92).

Compared to the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 the main improvements include the newer and faster flagship MediaTek Dimensity 8300 CPU that blows the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 out of the water making it far more suitable for gaming, a brighter 12.7" 600 nits display (was 400 nits), more future Android updates (currently ships with Android 14), 45W fast charging (was 20W), the option of 12GB RAM and Bluetooth 5.3.

Other features include ZUI 16 (Android 14, updates until 2028), 12.7" 144Hz 2944x1840 LCD display with 600nits brightness, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 10200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C 3.2 port with 4K@60Hz video out and pogo pins for a keyboard.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

      Awesome! Thanks for the tag!

    • Thanks for remembering us @clear! But was looking to get the 12/256gb version…

      • +3

Ah sorry. This listing from the same store has it for US$284.20 after codes.

        • +1

Oh no need to be sorry mate, really appreciate you remembering me :) I will check that out cheers!
EDIT: Thanks but think i will wait this out since it works out to be around $490 with a pen, still waiting for the previous deal at around $408 aud (with case+protector+pen) for the 12/256gb model….still bummed that I got refunded by the seller (very dodgy)

        • Curious on your professional opinion - is this a good price for the 12GB+256GB? I guess curious if $150ish difference is normal or if it's more a case that the 8GB is on sale currently and 12GB isn't

          • +1

@Benjamin7711: I haven't paid much attention to that model and it seems according to homersyd that it's usually cheaper.

            • +1

@Clear: Thanks! Ended up yolo-ing the upgraded model - figured about $60 for the extra ram and $40-odd for storage was justifiable… plus the '1 left' badge worked a charm lol

  • Custom os supported yet?

    • +1

I can't see a reason to go to a custom ROM if there was one. Especially if you care about Widevine L1 for media streaming, as bootloader unlocking will screw that up.

    • +2

yes, we've managed to unlock the bootloader by patching the lk partition
there aren't any custom-built roms atm but GSI is pretty good on this device
i run lineage 21 GSI rom. it breaks fingerprint and perhaps a few other features, but at least i can keep apps running in the background. for someone running syncthing and tailscale it was piss annoying having zui kill everything
but yeah as clear has stated, if you care about widevine l1 don't do it

  • +2

Great deal, is this one of the Lenovo tablets that you can use as a second monitor for windows?

    • I have one and yes you can do this.

      • How does it do it - just USB or does it have HDMI? If so, can it also be a monitor for PS4 or switch?

  • +1

12.7 is too big for gaming.
Any potential deals on Y700 older versions?

    • +4

Yeah I'm seeing what I can do.

      • Interested as well

  • Would 12gb version be worth it for about $100 more?

    • I got the 12gb version since I like to multitask, depends on your use case really. But $450 for 12gb 256gb is still super good value compared to competition.

    • +1

I only got the 12GB version because I use mine for art and illustration among other things (can't afford an equivalent iPad Pro) as more RAM means I can work with more layers and more images at once.

  • Thinking heavily about getting this for watching TV in bed.

I've been going back and forth on which tablet appeals to me more.

But I do think that for this cheap its hard to go wrong…

    • If that's your goal might suggest a projector lol, much cheaper and more enjoyable. I have both and i never use the tablet. Jst my 2cent. Ofc you can use the tablet for other tasks. Gl

      • What projector have you used?

    • Fore arm work out.

    • +1

      Don't. ……. watch TV in bed .

  • +1

Looks great but Dolby atmos in a tablet is laughable.

    • and in stock you can't even disable it on speaker

  • Any recommendations on cases for this?

    • +2

There's so many to choose from. The basic silicon TPU cases are dirt cheap and plenty of folio cases around too.

    • +1

Last post deleted for shortened URL. I've been happy with mine if you like the folio style that stands it up but it's adds a bit of weight.
Mine was from HJR Tablet Case Store "Smart Case For Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 inch 2025 Folding Flip Stand With Auto Sleep"

  • Both codes not working anymore.

    • Can confirm ^

  • the pen for 2023 was expensive and hard to find: for 2025?

    • I am looking for a good stylus too.
Trued the reslly cheap one $5 and its not good but i felt this tablet will benefit a lot with a pen.

  • Hi @Clear

Both codes mentioned have been used up and it doesn’t seem to meet the minimum criteria spend for AUCD30. By any chance would it be possible to get another code?

    Thank you very much!

    • getting the same thing

      • AUCD20

  • Try the code AUCD30

    • Hi Clear
I’m getting the following message applying the code, any suggestions? Thanks

“Your order amount, after discounts and excluding shipping fees, doesn't reach the minimum spend requirement for this coupon code. Once you reach the minimum spend requirement, you can reapply this coupon code.“

      • Sorry wrong code. Use AUCD20

        • Thanks Clear all works now!

  • How is this pad for drawing?

  • Is this CN or Global rom?

    • +4

CN which is what you want. Google Play, Widevine L1 and OTA updates.

      • Yeah cheers for the response! Snapped up the 12gb version when I realized the CN rom is actually superior for future updates.

(Note for readers: The 12GB version is available from the same store but in a different listing.)

  • Is the Dimensity 8300 decent for gaming. From comparisons, it looks like it has the power of an A14 bionic (Iphone 12).

    • +1

Yeah it's definitely up there for performance/gaming and on par with the A14. It's ranked 18th and sits just below the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 and Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.

  • any luck on finding a tcl nxtpaper 14 on discount?

    • It doesn't seem to be sold on AliExpress.

      • yeah thank you i also just had a look - HN had a discount but its expired, i was waiting to see if it popped up elsewhere to not buy at HN :/

  • What are the main use cases for these tablets over the usual iPads and Samsung tablets? Are these “hackable” ie can crack Samsung / Google play store etc and tinker in that domain?

    • +1

It's a cheaper alternative with good specs to a more expensive Samsung tablet. Google Play works exactly the same on this than it would on a Samsung.

      • Sounds about right, cheers

Why is this so much cheaper?? Seems like the same item.

    • ah. No google.

      • +7

Nope not that - they all have Google. You've found a scam listing.

        New! Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7

Buzzwords before brands first are often a red flag, as it's done to bypass the automatic scam detection. Notice there's no Lenovo mentioned?

        US $131.03

Why is it sooooo low compared others?

That's extremely low feedback for a store and it's only been open since mid-January. Feedback shows a lot of complaints about the store being a scam.

        • legend. Thanks for the clarification.

I bought the one that you listed.

          Thanks mate.

  • +1

Is this the equivalent Lenovo Tab Pro 12.7" 3K 256GB Tablet from jb-hifi ? the specs seem similar

    • +2

      Yes

    • +1

      Much better in every way

    • Way worse performance and screen over the one listed in this thread.. not even playing the same sport!

  • Is the OS in English? Thanks.

    • +1

      It supports English and Chinese.

  • I have the 11.2 2022 version, pretty good. Sad they didn't keep the 11 inch form factor, I think that's the ideal size.

    • I think they made I larger because 11inch is a bit too small as a secondary monitor for a laptop

      • It's fairly difficult to make a generic android tablet into a secondary monitor. Usually need software which may or may not work, might need cables, might be laggy as, definitely isn't cross platform most of the time. The tablet usb c cannot function like a display output, I believe there's only a single tablet on the market that can do that.

Better off just getting a portable external monitor.

For reference, I found only Duet to be a cross compatible external monitor app for windows, linux and mac. But it has a monthly sub so I just bought an Arzopa 16inch 16:10 external monitor instead.

        • this one is able to due dual monitor (i assume it's done through lenovo software), but they clearly show it in their promo video

    • Non pro is 11". Pro is 12.7"

  • Its the deal still live for US$215.79

    • +1

      Nope out of stock

  • I got the 256gb 8 gb ram version few months ago. Would recommend 256gb over 128gb as the 256gb has better storage speed.
Really dont need 12 gb extra for my use case.

  • I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between 2 options with same specs. 8gb, 256gb but one listing costs more.

    • Same. Had asked seller, waitinf for reply

      • They replied to me but I don't think they understood the question.

  • Will this version allow multiple accounts? The 2023 version sadly doesn't. Thinking of having a guest login or seperate account for the kids

    • Would like to know the same too

  • I am on the listing now. What is the differences between Standard Limited and Standard? There is a $8 difference.

    • +2

      Price.

  • Thank you OP! managed to grab one at last!

  • +1

does this have the paper-like matte screen like the Au version sold at lenovo, jbhifi and OW

    Thanks

    • From the customer review photos on Aliexpress, it looks like it has a glossy screen.

    • You can get an anti glare screen with this tablet, but not from this seller.

      • Do you have link from another seller?

        • +1

They're much more expensive. Close to USD300

        • +1

Check AliExpress and look for AG in photo. Tablet price is above $530

  • The only thing I'm not sure about is software updates

    • Updates until 2028.

  • Keen on the 12/256, is there a deal on that one at the moment?

    • No AliExpress sales running currently.

  • +1

    HI Clear
Firstly thank you for posting this - I bought one early- waiting for delivery
Presume loading netflix etc is ok on this?
    thanks

  • How do you get it all in English?

I keep getting popups and have no idea what they say

    • same issue here

  • +1

Did everyone else get a US pin adaptor with their tablet? What a waste sending a US pin adaptor for a USB power adaptor that is US pin as well.

    • Nah I got the AU adaptor.

    • Yeah.. Same thing.. First I thought how nice they are for sending me Aus adapter

  • Does anyone know how to disable Chinese language completely. Keyboard shows English letters but it doesn't type anything
