CG-NAT works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)
Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).

Static IP
A single Static IP address is available upon request for the additional monthly fee on all residential Superloop nbn plans.
Static IP $5 (inc. GST)

Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

Credit Card Surcharge
Services that are paid by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) incur a 1.0% transaction fee. You can pay by Direct Debit from your bank to avoid these fees.

      • All my 5 nest mini devices use to lose wifi within couple of days of restart. Have to restart them multiple times a week

        • But then moving to ABB was fine?

          • @pennypincha: Yes. Only diff i noticed is that in the main NBN box i used port 2 as instructed for superloop and port 1 for ABB.

  • +1

Gonna jump on this. Currently paying $80/month for 100/20 with Leaptel.

  • +1

For those in the know, what's Superloop is like against TPG? Time for a change methinks. Thanks.

    • Also keen for this. Melb based

  • +1

Does anyone know if it's possible to sign up but only activate in say March 2025? Currently has 4 months left with Tangerine.

  • Damn, it’s a great deal. I’m gonna ring them up and see what they do.

    • +2

As an existing customer do you mean?

If that's the case i'd be curious to know how you go

      • +1

Me too, currently paying $109 for 1000/50

      • +2

they told me they would offer me $105 per month LOL

        • Yikes. $4 discount, really?

I'm considering giving it a crack nonetheless and having one or more competitor prices up my sleeve to mention. I actually do feel it is time to switch from these guys, which may or may not count for anything.

          • +3

@werdplaya58: I just got off a 30 min wait to their retention team. Straight up said I'm leaving because a $20 difference for 12 months is unreasonable for existing customers (1000/50). After offering a variety of crap I didnt want or need, eventually was offered $99 for 12 months. Thats good enough to keep me with them for now. I've had no issues with their service where I live. Was paying $109.

            • +1

@IXXI: im still in my 99 per month offer period.
i said esclate it and get the complaints team to call me
              lets see what happens

              • @Wiadro: Any update, please?

                • +1

@Ulysses31: They didn’t wanna do it at all.
Gave me $99 for 12 months though.!

    Code isn't working…

  • -3

    No love for FTTN

    • nope, it has to be connected to your house. You can't have it to a mini-exchange or node

    • +4

Can you swap from nbn FTTN to FTTP?

      https://www.superloop.com/flip-to-fibre

      • +2

Awesome, my home is eligible for the upgrade. Thank you, I learned something new today. An jeez what's with the haters?

    • +1

      The deal includes FTTN…

      • The original post only mentioned 1000/50. I updated the post with other speed tiers.

  • +3

The promo code is not valid.

  • +3

Damn good price. When i was with SL before they had intermittent issues with their international transit/partners that was really annoying acessing foreign servers. Would hapoen every few months and last days to weeks (acknowledged on the unofficial discord). Moved to Leaptel and zero international issues past 15 months. But this deal $20 a month cheaper! Ugh decisions decisions

    • -1

Great price. Can Anyone confirm the reliability of SL? I'm currently with Optus and have been for 20 years only on a 100 and 40mbps paying $90 a month. Reliability is important to me.

      • +1

I was a SL customer for many years before moving to Leaptel. My only issues on SL were above, and most people would not even notice it as most of what is normal/average use is cached domestic anyway. So unless you know you have a use case that is sensitive to international transit, then it should be fine as long as your local NBN POI has headroom.

      • +1

For me I moved from superloop to leaptel because my internet would drop off alot. Alot of it was unannounced "maintenance".

      • I was on Optus for the same period and then I said enough is enough. Swapped to SL and all good.

  • +2

I'm getting "the promo code is not valid"

  • +2

Code not working at 0720 AEST

  • +1

    Code not working

    • +1

      Working now

  • Assuming code will be live a little later today? Sign up or wait to see if any other Black Friday offers come up… The ozbargainer in doesn't know!

  • +1

I'm currently paying $76/m for 50/20 which includes a $5 retention discount on the $81 plan. I don't even really need the speed bump but damn I'd love to see what they can offer me. Have been with them almost 3y now - anyone else in a similar position?

  • Does this code work for any of the other speeds to get an extra discount?

    • +1

100/20, 100/40 and 250/25. The code isn't working at the moment though.

      • Thanks! Do we know when it will become active?

        • +1

It should be today. I don't know what time.

        • +1

          It's working now.

  • Superloop also do opticomm fiber plans as well btw.

    • +2

      No deal for opticomm fiber

      • why do they never have deals for good fiber? :D

        • Apparently there is less profit in Opticomm due to the smaller market. So some ISPs don't cover Opticomm or charge more for equivalent plans.

  • +1

    Code is not working

  • mmm joined Buddy during their launch promo - no issues with them but paying $99/month.

This promo looks good - would mean $89/month. Anyone moved from ABB/Buddy to Superloop previously have any issues/insights on performance? Assuming it's gonna be relatively similar?

I'm on HFC (Acacia Ridge POI) if that helps/makes any difference.

    TIA

    • +3

Look in the comments here, someone posted a link to super loops poi, i guess you can look for your one in the list and if it never goes above 50% usage youre probably good?

      Here's the link: https://jasongi.com/superloop-cvc-graph-archive/

      • Thanks for the reply - the graphs are helpful!

        Cheers!

  • If i switch from Telstra will my Telstra modem continue to work or will i have to wait for the new modem?

    • +2

      Telstra modem/router works with Superloop.

    • +1

I'm still using my Telstra router from years ago with SL - still haven't found a reason to upgrade it!

      • I just switched but my speed is maxing at 310 average and max was 450, do you know why? im on smart modem 3

  • +2

Code appears to be live now.

    • +1

Yep code is now working 🤠

    • Yep it is working

  • code working

  • +1

Thats great deal, even with the ongoing price $109/m
its $41 cheaper than Telstra ($150)
both are retailers of NBN, how can the price be that much of difference…..

    • IT'S TELSTRA

  • Currently with Exetel, which are being integrated into superloop, does anyone happen to know if my loyalty bonus would carry over in this deal?

  • Code is live peoples

  • +24

The BLACK-FRIDAY code is also listed by Top Cashback so you can get up to $105 extra cashback.

    • Thanks for the heads up! Saw your comment right after I signed up. Had to re-sign up with a different email address. Now on the phone to try and cancel my first one.

    • Nice bonus! Do we know how long the TCB offer is available? I couldn’t see any expiry dates.

  • My Leaptel promo offer ends 15/1/25, thanks OP!

  • The code is working now.

  • Sorry SpinTel. It was short and sweet. I tried to price match Superloop before I left last time, but they stick.
Locked in for this now for 12 mths at least

  • +1

Does currently not using Superloop mean 'new user' even if I've been with them before at the same address?

    From their terms:
    10. Returning customers, who have previously been
with Superloop and already received a six (6)
month discount promotion, will not be eligible for
    a new promotion.

  • How painful/painless is the churn process on HFC? What sort of downtime to expect?

  • +1

    I'm getting 100/50 with leaptel for $89.95.

This is slightly tempting… But I moved from superloop to leaptel because I kept getting maintenance outages from superloop. Alot of it was unannounced, whereas leaptel has just worked and maintenance has all been announced in advance and at night.

    • +1

how long were the outages with SL?

      • Sometimes hours at a time. Or constant on and off for hours.

  • TPG is likely to price beat this deal as Superloop is one of the eligible providers.
    https://www.tpg.com.au/price-beat

    • +2

Be careful, it says advertised price on TPG this requires a voucher. It wouldn't surprise me if they only matched the normal price pre voucher.

      • Why be careful, just try!

        • +2

Because you have to sign up first and submit form within 7 days by then you've missed the black friday SL sale and hate life

  • -2

    The code BLACK-FRIDAY works!

    100/20 Mbps for just $69/month
    100/40 Mbps for $73/month
    250/25 Mbps for $79/month
    1 Gig/50 Mbps for $89/month

for the first 12 months, with a $0 Amazon modem.

    • +3

eero 6+ router is only $0 if you stay for 24 months.

A FREE* eero 6+ ($20 shipping) including eero Secure, is available to all Superloop residential nbn customers. You can only get one free* router per service, and must be connected via FTTP, FTTC, or HFC technology. To qualify your service must remain active for 24-months, however, if you cancel your service before your 24-months is up you’ll be charged a one-off clawback fee of $7/mth (inc. GST) based on the number of months remaining. So, if you cancel 6-months into your 24-month commitment the amount owed will be based off the remaining 18-months. Check out our Terms & Conditions here

      • +1

Also - for a 2 storey/large house, the one modem is probably not sufficient, need to add $170 for an additional modem unit.

  • +2

Nice, I've been paying $95 for 100/20 with AussieBB but about time I try other providers to see if the premium actually meant anything.

  • +1

Ok, I was looking at reviews.

    Aussie has 4.5/5, Leaptel 4.6/5.

    Superloop has 3.1/5.

People experiencing dropouts and slow speed at times. The modem is apparently really bad. Very poor customer support as well.

These were people on FTTP plans including the 1000/50 plan. I was tempted to get it, but I'll probably just stick with Aussie maybe look at Leaptel.

    • +1

SL customer service before my service was activated recently was the worst I've ever experienced .

      Service has been okay though.

  • Any chance Leaptel would take a leap and do something like this?

    • Leaptel Black Friday pricing is the same as what's already offered.

    • +4

I'm chatting to Leaptel now and they said that they don't price match.

      • +1

        Bugger! Thanks for trying.

  • That's very annoying that, with 30 days notice to cancel rule, those current customes cannot benefit from such good discounts :|

    • +2

You can choose the start date when you sign up, so cancel your provider now, ask when your last payment covers till and make this start from then.

      • Yes, already done that.
        Thanks

        • Did you use a person that's never signed up with SL before? I'm currently on SL but my husband signed up like 2 years ago. Not sure if they'll cancel the deal based on that even if I use a new email

          • @MeesusEff: yes, for me, my partner never signed up (totally new).
I think two years should be considered as a new customer.
You can try; if conditions don't meet, they will decline.

            • @mkowarkski: Are you going to churn to another provider first?

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15971748/redir

              • +1

                @MeesusEff: @MeesusEff, No I didn't churn to another provider.
We signed up with my partner's name. I told them I am a new renter coming to the house. I don't know who has been in the property and I don't know which provider they have :D
They checked and said the current provider in the property is Superloop; I said, that is interesting :D They said don't worry, we will connect you on the day.

Churn to another provider is not needed.

                • @mkowarkski: lol! Did they already do the check for you (guessing you signed up for a later start date), I was thinking of going to Launtel the day before

                  • @MeesusEff: Our new plan starts on the same day as the older one ends.
                    Superloop will manage the connection.
If any issues, I will call them on the day to connect.

                    • @mkowarkski: Did yours already start? I set my date to activate on the 30th but they activated it at 11pm last night, so I'm doubly annoyed that I just lost almost 2/3 of my previous plan and lose a day by 1 hour lol

                      • @MeesusEff: LOL
No, they haven't yet activated. It is planned they activate on 18 Dec.

They should not charge you for that 2/3 of plan. You need to call them :D
