CG-NAT works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)
Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).

Static IP
A single Static IP address is available upon request for the additional monthly fee on all residential Superloop nbn plans.
Static IP $5 (inc. GST)

Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

Credit Card Surcharge
Services that are paid by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) incur a 1.0% transaction fee. You can pay by Direct Debit from your bank to avoid these fees.

        • Do they prorata refund? I'm in the middle of my month atm

Edit : they don't prorata so if you're lucky enough to be near the end of your billing date

    • I did the same, but logged into the portal with the new account and it now says order on hold or rejected, duplicate order request. Does yours show the same thing?

      • Yep. I assume it will show that until my old one is disconnected

    • Did you use another person to sign up? My husband signed up to SL 2 years ago with the 6 months discount so not sure if they'll cancel the order if I use his name again

  • I'm currently with Superloop under my partner's name, can I cancel it and signup under my name?

  • +1

Damn it…. i jumped on the $94 plan a few weeks ago… coulda saved myself $5 lol

  • -5

Dodo is also offering discounts for 12 months at very slightly cheaper prices:
    * 25/5 at $48.90
    * 50/20 at $63.90
    * 100/20 at $68.90
    * 250/25 at $78.90

Especially useful for those who are already with superloop

  • +1

The best thing about SL and Exetel is the boost option they offer. So the 250 plan gets you 5 days of 1000mbps.

    250/25 $79/Month for 12 Months

    • Cashback ($105)

thats $70.5 per month, not bad tbh

    • you may as well go for the 1000/50 option

      • depends on use case, dont have huge download or bandwidth needs, heck even 250 is overkill. but over the weekend it bumps up when trying out isos.

being ozbargain, ill take the $10 difference a month than feeling guilty for paying for a speed i dont need :D

    • Ehh the boost option ain't all it's cracked up to be… I find the connection very unstable when I've activated boost, this goes for both companies.

    • -1

how to get cashback? I cannot find 'button' in my Chrome, similar to Cashreward and Shopback.
      Thank you

      • TopCashBack offer

    • +1

And the 250 home superfast tier gets the free bump to 750/50 from Sept while the 1000 ultrafast isn't changing.

So that's where the value is, esp considering speed boost gets you to 1Gb five times a month.

      • The upload is changing and it will be 1000/100.

        • +1

          Yep thanks for the correction.

      • September 2025? have they released a firm timeline for when this is going to happen

  • Anyone know what they define as "new customer"? I couldn't see any definitions in the T&Cs.
I've used SL before but not at this address so unsure if that'll make me ineligible as my email address won't appear as a new customer?

    • +2

You'll be considered a new customer. I just did exactly what you described and the discounted price was fine

  • Anyone have Superloop using the TPLINK Deco M5 setup?

    • TP-Link Deco is compatible with all providers. Set your Deco's internet type to Dynamic IP.

    • Yes I’m Superloop HFC with 3 Deco M5’s and it works perfect.

  • how long does the switchover take? My plan doesn't expire till next week, do i switch over now to give it time?

    • Took me less than an hour and it's already fully switched over.

  • +1

Great deal but big issue is 30 days notice to terminate. Pain when you want to jump to a new provider when the 12 month promo expires .

    • +4

Set a reminder in 11 months time to give them their 30 days notice. I'm sure there will be a new round of Black Friday offers getting advertised

  • Thanks OP! Sorted for a year, next next BF deals!

  • Superloop are great until you have a problem.

They doubled billed me for 8 months and it was an absolute nightmare trying to get nearly $800 back. I had to go to the TIO in the end and it was finally resolved. It took hours and hours and hours of back and forth before it came to that though.

  • Just got activated.

Is it normal to have these speedtests on Superloop 1000, 50?

    Modem: Google Wifi Pro
    Over LAN: 729Mbps down | 50 up
    Over WIFI: 450Mbps down | 45 up

    • You should get around 920Mbps or more over LAN. Are you using the Google Home speedtest?

      • +1

Yeah. Speeds seem to have increased now. Both LAN/WIFI hitting more than 900Mbps

    • Are you connecting to the Google Nest WIFI Pro directly? Mine are Nest WIFI Pro 6E.

  • Is it worth getting the eero 6+ router on the 24 month contract? Or supplying my own router?

    • Depends on your needs. I have to split my network to have a guest of 2.4ghz for all my smart devices. Eero doesn't let you do that. But if you plan to stay after the discount then you can just sell it anyway

      • Just confirming you have the Eero 6 and not the Eero 6 Plus?

I am contemplating on the deal and do have devices needing 2.4Ghz only.

I read the upgraded Eero 6 Plus has Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

        https://www.amazon.com.au/Introducing-Amazon-eero-dual-band-…

        • +1

I can't remember which as I signed up last Aug, I did get one for my mum in January but never used. I just googled and it seems like you can't split it, you can just disable the 5ghz temporarily.

Since some of my devices are old and sometimes disconnects and like if I turn on and off my light bulbs, sometimes it won't reconnect on dual band.

  • thanks OP - moved from ABB for the first time to this deal.
Order completed and churned without issue within 30minutes.

  • +1

100/20 is the best value here $69 for 12 months wow!

    • For $20 more, you will get the 1000/50.
The speed difference you will experience is huge!

      • +1

No point if you don't have Gigabit Ethernet at home

        • Obviously it depends on the type of WiFi router. Some can handle that speed wirelessly

        • Depends a lot on your devices, use cases.

I get around 600-700 MB/S over Wifi. Makes a huge difference for downloading games etc.
Plus if you have more than one user sharing the speed (I have two teenager's) it also helps a lot to be on the fast plan.

          • @BlueDiesel: however if you want Gigabit then best to be on the wire. Wireless never going to cut it.

          • @BlueDiesel: Thank you for the info.
What is the model and brand of your router, please?

            • +1

@mkowarkski: We are using this one here: https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/wifi-router/arche…

I get higher WIFI speeds closer to it, but my computer is one level higher and about 5-6 meters away. So I am quite happy with the speeds I get.

We have 3 TVs, XBOX ,2 Computers, 3 Laptops and multiple other devices (google speakers, phones, security cameras) connected and never had any speed issues, even with a large number of those a running simultaneously.

              • @BlueDiesel: Great! That is a good router :)

              • @BlueDiesel: I wouldn't buy TP-Link had a smart Powerboard died just after two years and they refuse repair replace or do anything with it.

                • @neonlight: Sorry to hear that.
I have bunch of Smart devices from TP-Link, no issues.
No plan to change my router for now, unless I cannot get speed very different from 1000/50 in my upcoming plan.

                  • @mkowarkski: Yeah and my Belkin wemo still running after 7 years. TP-Link quality just not there

When I searched on the Web I'm not the only one with TP-Link gear

    • +3

      it's not $89 for 1000/50 is low

    • +5

Where can you get gigabit connection for sub $80 a month?

      • +1

Nope fair enough I completely overlooked that.

  • +2

Sigh. Gonna be hard going back to 100/20 after 12months.

    • +1

If things go as planned, it should be 500/50 as the equivalent in September 2025:

      https://www.nbnco.com.au/corporate-information/media-centre/…

      • Have not seen any free upgrade or a matrix table to suggest what you would get after free upgrade

        • These are the main upgrades:

          100/20 -> 500/50
          250/25 -> 750/50
          1000/50 -> 1000/100

          • @scix: Right when they would do that? If that's the case it might be better to stay at the cheapest possible 100/20 plan and not upgrade at all since you get 500 anyway

            • @neonlight: September 2025. But there might be delays again, and it's not necessarily the case that the retail price will be the same (but I expect they will be, even if not for all retailers).

              • @scix: Right would ISP actually upgrade with this matrix for free though. It seems not entirely possible.

I for sure don't have Gigabit network at home 250-500 is Max with my AC router. I'm not upgrading my Asus AiMesh network to Wifi 6

Even replacing with TP-Link Deco X50 is not really worth it

I wonder why they not upgrading 50/20 and 20/5 plans

    • I gotta ask. What are you using your net connection for? I can’t seem to really go above needing 50/20. Trying to figure out whether I should be upgrading.

    • You'll be in sync with black friday so hopefully there's better deals

  • Has anyone had a FTTP upgrade done where there is concrete at the front of the house that prevents open trenching? Tech came to house and said he would need to cut up my exposed aggregate footpath but won’t reinstate it back to original state. Anyone have a similar issue?

    • They can mount the fibre on a wall or fence line. Would that work in your case?

      • Are you talking about the box the put on the side of your house ? They said all fibre needs to go underground in a 40mm conduit? Said it won’t fit in old existing 20mm copper conduit.

        • +2

They might choose to run the fibre along the wall or fence line to get the fibre to the side of your home. This way they don't need to break concrete.

Ideally the fibre should be underground. nbn specs say 20mm telecommunications conduit is all you need. I don't know why they are saying 40mm.

    • +1

My area is served by an areal cable so there was no need for any digging.

  • +2

Anyones connection taking a long time? I ordered around 10:45am nsw time this morning and not connected

I am still connected to Aussie BB 1000mbps

Edit- not sure someone negged this, any time I ever ask a question on here i seem to get negged, only asking as most people have said it has taken under 45 minutes to switch

    • They might have activated on another port, check another UNI-D port on NBN connection box.

      • +1

Just got on livechat and while on there it went active

Got Cgnat turned off and did an ookla speedtest

        939mbps Down
        47mbps Up

  • Perfect timing my leaptel service is about to come off its 1 year contract! Used Topcashback for the $105 cashback, anyone know if the black friday code voids it? Got the email saying its tracking.

    • The code is listed so should be fine

    • @david6509 Does Leaptel have a notice period/did you have to notify them or did you just sign up with SL and let them do their thing?

      • +1

        they don't

        • @deathjr Thanks death!

      • +3

yep just signed up via superloop. Recieved an email from leaptel saying they recieved a request to port. Was all up and running with superloop in less than an hour. Super easy move.

        • same for me. I was able to get off CGNAT as well via a quick live chat

          • @deathjr: @deathjr just realised I've been on CGNAT this whole time with Leaptel, so I guess it's not prevented me from doing anything.

Is there any benefit in me bothering to try and get it turned off with SL or not since I've had it on this whole time anyway.

            • +3

@Devil: I have various apps that rely on p2p connections and I work with video games so I need cgnat off. If you haven't had any issues, then don't worry about it.

    • Wow where is this Cashback from? Got link?

  • +1

    Currently with them.
They are great, except their 30-day notice policy for the cancellation…

  • +1

Just chatted with Superloop live chat about getting this discount and this was the response.

“ Black Friday offers are exclusively for new customers. Unfortunately, it cannot be applied by canceling and re-ordering an existing service.“

    • I got the same thing. Maybe calling is better luck? But apparently everyone's doing the same thing and the queue is insane.

I signed up just yesterday also and they wouldn't do it.

Although I have used them before but it was for a new house, so I changed address and got a new customer ID and everything.

      • What's the definition of a new customer, is it you can't re-sign using an active account you've used previously or is there a 12mth Min period you must have been gone for, or similar?

        • Probably not an active account - but I signed up using the same details it just had my username as my old login (my email) + a couple of extra letters (so I think I'd qualify as a new customer. From a business standpoint they get new customers its better 'performance' so a new account wouldn't be the case.

As for if you're churning then I'd assume a 6-12 month period in between cancelling and signing up again.

  • Also was able to opt out of CGNAT per earlier comments, via the live chat.
Took all of 5minutes wait and was actioned instantly.

    • did this cost extra?

      • same asked through chat - actioned immediately.

        agent gave 2 options
        dynamic IP - free
        static ip - $5/month

      • no extra to disable and use dynamic IP.
        same as per @spikiii

  • tried to cancel my Optus 100/20 plan they offered me $64 for 12 months. I couldn't decide last Friday then today I had a chat with them again to try to get the $64 plan. But the new CS can't give me $64 for 12 months, they gave me $69 for 6 month plus first month free. I need to change to other provider in 6 month time.

  • +1

Signed up and was connected within the hour. Haven't had to change any settings on the modem or anything, also didn't notice any downtime. Thanks OP.

  • Signed up, got switched over within 20 mins, all sorted. Very happy with the speed.

  • mmmm leaptel or superloop ?

    • +1

speed with Superloop has been good for me. If prcie is low for you, jump onto SL.

      • ta. Because I've always been on Tangerine, if I join Superloop does it cancel Tangerine automatically or do I have to deal with them too.
