CG-NAT works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)
Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).

Static IP
A single Static IP address is available upon request for the additional monthly fee on all residential Superloop nbn plans.
Static IP $5 (inc. GST)

Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

Credit Card Surcharge
Services that are paid by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) incur a 1.0% transaction fee. You can pay by Direct Debit from your bank to avoid these fees.

                        • @mkowarkski: i already got the invoice, so annoyed. im worried if i call them and they change something then that invalidates my TCB cashback too…so i think i have to let that $5x go..

but didnt know they would just start the new service over the new one. didnt have to port out like what some people said.

  • Happy to report is the code is now working!

  • Thanks OP, placed an older

  • My $59plan 100/20 with AGL for 6months just ended. Good timing looks like $70~ is the new price for 100/20.

  • Code doesnt work for me for some reason. I'm on the opticomm network and the address is serviceable by superloop

    • This deal is only for nbn. OptiComm is a separate fibre network.

  • Think Superloops website has crashed

    • it's fine for me, but I had to use edge - firefox with adblockers stopped the address check from completing

  • I signed up for their $85pm 250/25 6mth plan 11 days ago and just tried updating to their $79pm 250/25 12mth plan on the phone. No budge from the billing team.

Shame really, we haven't even been billed yet!

    • Cancel and then sign back up again?

      • 30 day notice cancellation period.

        • +1

You can choose a date 30 days in advance for the new connection. Effectively 1 month at your $85 and then set up your new account 30 days from now at $79

          • +1

@De4lz: I just tried this and the service agent told me I wouldn't meet eligibility to be a "new customer" for the BF deal. Perhaps there is a cooling off period to become "new" again.

I also opted in for the free* modem (*free after 24 months with SL) and that would be fully charged to my account if going about it this way too.

Shattering! I would've definitely waited to sign up knowing BFCM is around the corner, but we just moved to our new address - so needed to sign up ASAP.

            • +2

@Khriso: Hi, I am existing customer and I called CC and requested the service be cancelled (30 days notice) so existing connection will be terminated on 17th Dec. Signed up for new connection on my partners name with this code applied for 1000/50 $89/month with start date of 17th Dec. Received email with contract. All good. Also, topcashback worth around $100. Good deal.

              • @kozb: Thinking of doing the same as you to get this great deal, but is anyone 100% sure SL will honour and not cancel your new signup by using their definition of a "new customer" clause, and they will say that technically they are supplying the exact same property with NBN, albeit under a different person and email address?

                • @alidli: I hear you, but lets say that I am vacating this house on 17th Dec and a new tenant is moving on the same day and coincidently they are also requesting new superloop nbn connection for the same address then technically it is indeed a new connection right. How can superloop decline or not honor this request. I believe as long as its a new person with a new email address, it should be fine.

                  • @kozb: Yeah that would most probably work to counter any push-back from SL.
Only probs I can see is we don't have anyone here with a different surname (if they do credit or person checks) so still could run into issues convincing them a new tenant/ owner has taken over the property.
Suppose I could just use a fake name if they don't do any checks.

                    • @alidli: Nah, dont stress. Just cancel and sign up under a new name on the same date. Should work.

                      • @kozb: I cancelled existing service and signed up again with different details, got the confirmation emails so all looked good, however when I logged onto the members Superloop SuperHub website the "Progress tracker" webpage shows a tick next to Order Submitted but lower down the list it's also ticked next to "Information needed. Hold or rejected. Duplicate order request", so I have a feeling they are going to cancel the new application.

Have you checked your new application's SuperHub page as be interested if yours says the same.

                        • +1

@alidli: Same status. "Information needed. Hold or rejected. Duplicate order request"

                          • @kozb: Crapsville 😮‍💨

              • @kozb: Just wondering - with Topcashback, does your Superloop account email have to match your TopCashback account email?

                • @Hamish125: I am not sure mate. In fact, my topcashback is yet to track this transaction. I thought it will done sooner but its still not tracked

                • +2

@Hamish125: I'm unsure about TCB but I know Cashrewards and Shopback it doesn't matter about matching email addresses

  • I will sign up later this month. Thanks OP. Nice to go back to Superloop I will keep churning between Aussie boardband and Superloop

  • +1

Can I sign up now for a future date somewhere in early Jan? In past I signed up using future dates and the ISP were too enthusiastic that they triggered the connection straight away.

    • Good question. That may also work for current customers!

    • +3

I tried on the order form, can't set future activation date past 18/12.

    • Hmm, I'll sign up on 7th Dec then for it to start on 7th Jan, unless then pull the deal out before that, but I'll take my chances

  • -2

On they website is 1000/50 - $89/Month for 6 Months NEW CUSTOMER only. Even when you apply the code. Has they change from 12 month to 6 month?

    • How about try put in the code and see for yourself.

      Answer is yes.

  • Nevermind, the reciept show 12months.

  • +2

Super easy to transfer across, been waiting on a sweet deal like this for ages. Signed up today at 9am ported out from telstra by 10am

  • Worked for me but took awhile for my address to show up, seems to be having server issues…

  • +1

Is this deal address or name specific? I am already with them. Wouldmitmwork if I'm cancelled and my Mrs signed up with this deal?

    • +1

I cancelled my service this morning and have signed it back up in my partners name. So far so good. Got welcome email and code worked etc. Also another $105 cashback through Top Cashback.

      • +1

Are you just planning to pay the additional month involved with cancelling?

Or did you just put cancel date a month away and the new start date at that same date?

I’m planning to do something similar

      • I did the same but when I logged into the portal, it says my application has been put on hold. Does yours show the same thing?

        • Yes. Stating duplicate request. Most likely because service is still active on same network at same address.

  • Live chat 47 minutes really testing me :(

Got my email wrong 3 times and sent my welcome email to the wrong email, and apparently can't resend it

I am with ABB currently 1000mbps and they are saying they can just take over, I assumed I had to cancel ABB first

  • im with swoop, will my plan just cancel when it switches to this one? i don't see anywhere on the swoop website where i can cancel. do they do a pro rata and only charge me for the days i used?

    • How can you cancel the service? a) You can ask us to cancel the service by calling us. Your call will be considered notice to cancel the service. b) You may also be able to cancel the service by electing to have an equivalent service to the service supplied by another carrier or carriage service provider (including, by churning). That carrier or carriage service provider will inform us that you have elected to have the relevant service supplied by them or have churned to them and we will cancel the service immediately.

Can't see any mention of pro rata refund

  • +1

That was quick. Ordered 1 hour ago, already connected at gigabit speeds

  • +4

$105 cashback through Top Cash back as well..

    • -2

      not with coupon.

      • +5

Code is listed on the TCB app

  • +1

Bah … hate these new client deals. Good price but there is a catch. Just be aware that you have give 30 days notice when you want to cancel this one! They make you call and jump hoops to cancel.

    • +3

I cancel today (18 Nov), and I sign up with a new account and select start date as 18 Dec.
Also there is top cashback of $105.

  • +1

It's really only attractive for the higher speed plans. I churned from Superloop to Moose a few weeks ago after my 6 month discount ran out at Superloop, and my experience at Moose has been exactly the same, not a single issue but a little bit cheaper…..$65.80 for 100/20.

Speed during peak hours has also been excellent at Moose.

    https://www.speedtest.net/result/16966439947

    https://moosemobile.com.au/nbn/

However, I'm now tempted to go back to this 1000/50 plan at Superloop….decisions…decisions…

  • +2

Just signed up online. Took 50mins to switch over from ABB. All back up and running.

  • Do these deals come around from time to time? I pay the same for More NBN for the 1000/50 plan but it expires in March.

  • Do you have to cancel your service with your current provider once you sign up?

    • +1

I don't think so, but you might be charged 30 days after you are migrated depending on your provider. AFAIK

  • +2

    nice. time to churn

  • +1

Called the SL retention team just last week and the "best deal", after I gave up and asked them to cancel, was 250/25 for $89, for 12 months.

I wish the 30 day notice was illegal so I could easily move without having to call them, and then come back.

    • sounds like this 30day notice to exit from SL is a bit cumbersome for people who want to churn semi-regularly when deals come up :(

Do you have to call them or just initiated through a customer portal of some sort?

      • +2

You have to call. Chat people don't do cancellations.

      • +2

I call them and canceled today (18 Nov), and I signed up with a new account and select start date as 18 Dec.
Also there is topcashback of $105.

  • 40 min wait time to speak to retention lol

    • Let us know how it goes, if they offer the same prices, or just a modem and fixed line or mobile plan combo.

    • Let me know how you go, I just got off the phone with the retention team. They wouldn't apply the deal :(

  • If I select DD, does that mean the service won’t be active until the payment is processed or what?

    • +2

No. I also selected DD and was activated almost immediately.

      • +1

        Thanks for your reply 🙏

  • -2

hey peeps. code working now. just tried it. black-friday

  • After 40 mins waiting to speak to retention team, the best they can give is $79 for 100/20.
They didnt budge even when I mentioned that other provider can give $68.5 (moose). So, I am cancelling it, and will get my partner to subscribe for this promo.

  • +1

Switched from Tangerine which took all of 45 minutes. CGNAT disabled (via live chat). Thanks OP!

  • +1

Just off the phone with Superloop because my benefit period expires next month, they were able to offer me 1000/50 at $99 per mth for 12 months ($10 worse off than if you are new customer). Since moving to Leaptel would have costed the same, I took the deal… saving me the pain of transferring and did not have to serve the 30 days notice.

    • Same here but I forgot to ask if the new 12 month plan arrangement will carry over my free CGNAT opt-out or If will have to pay the $5pm.

      • I always have CGNAT Opt out for free so given the same connection (but different speed), I'd say nothing will change.

I can find out tomorrow when I do my Tracert test but I am confident it will remain CGNAT opted out.

        • Well I requested a delayed reconnection and it seems the retention team forgot to add it..damn can't wait for the queue again. Leaptel then it is.

    • Same. My 6mths just ran out so secured the $99 for 12 months.

    • Just got off the phone from retention team and they refused to offer me 1000/50 for $99. Best they would offer was $5 off for the next 6 months once my existing $15 monthly credit runs out :( So $94 a month for 250/50

  • Thanks OP - just lodged an order for FTTN 100/40 as still waiting for FTTB at home.

  • Just signed up
How long will it take to activate? Do I need to call Aussie Broadband to cancel my existing service?
    How do I disable CGNAT?

    • +2

No need to call ABB or your previous provider.
Mine switched under 1 hour but a friend is still waiting.

      • Currently with Leaptel but never done a churn before on FTTP as only upgraded from FTTN about a year ago.
So when ordering a connection this takes the place of the Leaptel port (?) on the NTD automatically? Or do you have to nominate one of the ports?

        • +1

Superloop takes over the port Leaptel is on. It's not always the case though as some providers put their service on a new port or let you nominate a port. When a provider gets put on a new port you have to cancel the previous provider.

  • +1

    Do they supply a landline?

  • OP, not sure if you have seen by there is also a Top cashback deal for the 1000/50 deal of $105 cashback.

Can't share the link without a referral link atm

  • I guess this is only for NBN. I am on OptiComm and the code is not working for me.

    • Same, Im looking for an Opticomm dean since Uniti has increased the price

    • The code worked for me when I ordered on my iphone but wouldn’t work when I tried ordering on the PC.

  • Nice, thanks OP. Changed from ABB on 1000/50.
Took less than an hour to change over and should save me 360 for the first 12 month (paid 119 on Abb).
Speed seems to be the same at ~ 600MBS - over Wifi on my PC. Will check cable once get some time later.

  • Is a "new customer" a customer that has not been with them for at least 6 months?

    • +4

just try it. We moved from Superloop in September, and back again now at the coupon price

      • Thanks, did you use the same email as your previous join up?

  • +1

    $105 cashback with TCB

  • Thanks OP, was already with Superloop, spent over 45 minutes on hold to be told they couldn't upgrade the plan, so told them to cancel and have now signed up as new customer. Frustrating process that they can't make it easy for exisiting customers.

    • question. - so you cancel over the phone to give them the 30 days notice? then sign up as a new customer to start roughly 30 days from now? or start new plan 'as new customer' now too?

      • +2

Cancel over phone and give the 30 days notice. I then signed up as new to start the day before the cancellation happens

        • thanks for the confirmation

        • That's very smart! Wished I knew this before taking up their offer of $99 (instead of $84.95) earlier this morning.

          • +1

@burningrage: They also offered me that, which i found disappointing that new customers are treated better than existing.
