  • Just to compare which one has a better deal, the 4000 points on a $257 card, or $250 card without a purchase fee.

    • +3

For extra $7 you get 4000 points

It's only Monday and all of these are gone at my local.

  • Inception is still alive.

    • It is not "still" alive, it has been resurrected instead.

      • care to share more details?

    • can you plz share more details? pay coles mastercard with coles mastercard like before?

  • +1

On this previous deal it was menitoned that these cards no longer work at Australia Post.
I used the online version last year to pay my council rates at Post Bill Pay and also directly via council website.

I'm hoping at least one of those options will work, anyone have any experience?

  • Lately lots of places we can’t use this card anymore like i used to pay my daughter’s school fee, but its been 2 time it was declined.

  • +1

Can you purchase the 5 gift cards per fly buys account in one transaction or do you need to purchase them seperate transaction to get the bonus?

    • +1

I have received the points doing it in one transaction.

      • Thanks, good to know!

    • +2

Based on past sales, if you buy max 3 cards in 1 tx, you will get the bonus on the next day. Otherwise there is going to be a delay of another 1-2 days. For 250 cards I would just do 3+2 as it seems junior TMs don't have the authority to sell above $1000 in 1 tx at serviced checkouts and will need to get manager approval.

  • Had a good run this morning and I was able to get 3 lots with family members

  • Points don't show explicitly on the receipt and takes a bit to show up in the app right?

    • +1

Correct. Usually the afternoon of the next day.

      • Thanks!

    • Usually it will show up around 4:30pm next day but previous promo was delayed by one extra day, so it could take 2 days

  • Tried checking balance and it says A system error has occurred! Please try later! Anyone else?

    • +1

Last time it only works in incognito mode, try that

      • Thanks, worked!

  • +2

    empty shelf as expected.

    • I spoke to my local store, the lady said they have boxes of these cards, but there is an oversupply.
No wonder there is a 4k bonus on these.

Happy to say I was able to get 10 of these across 2 accounts with no effort.

  • +1

Thans OP, i got 10 of these from local coles at Epping NSW.

  • -3

thanks op, outer east vic had heaps. bought 25 with 5 different cards.

    • Nice you got 25, I got 10, but now i am confused how/where to use it without having to pay anymore card surcharge….. LoL

      • i have council rates for my principal property and two IP. thats enough to cover the whole lot lol

        • Same i have several council rates and Landtax but they attracted a further 0.5% card rate. In your opinion, Is it still ok to use this?

          • @CodeXD: If it is successful you also need to pay 0.5% surcharge?

            • @BTSARMY: I checked the receipt of my previous payment in March 2024 and there was no surcharge.

              • @CodeXD: Which council is it. I am in NSW and it has 0.5% if paying with Visa, MasterCard

                • @BTSARMY: ACT rates

EDIT: I put in $200 and it went through, not sure why the $250 didn't work but the receipt I got does not have any card surcharge.

                  • @CodeXD: ok great. Maybe you need to wait for 24hours after purchase?
I just loaded mine to NFC and it was ok.

                    • @BTSARMY: I googled the error and it sounds like I may have just typo'ed something when I originally entered the card details. My bad, thanks for your help.

                • @BTSARMY: Auspost billpay app - via Paypal, no surcharge. VIC

  • Previous posts to this offer had a website address to check the balance….anyone know that address please? Can never access it on the address given on the card….GRRR

  • Empty shelf at Coles Burwood Westfield. They don’t even have the ads displayed on the shelf.

Does anyone know if this card can be used to purchase a Your Pick Gift Card on the Everyday Rewards app?

    • +2

It should not work on the Everyday Rewards app, because:

      • The Everyday Rewards app requires any payment cards to support 3-D Secure.

      • Prepaid gift cards (including the one in this deal) cannot support 3-D Secure.

I have tried adding Coles Mastercard gift cards in the past and the app rejected the card.

      • @WookieMonster Do you know if Category Choice Groceries card work at Coles to buy these?

        • +1

I last tried this on 13 August (and it worked).

I have no idea if it still works.

        • +1

          Did this today, still works.

      • Thanks!

  • Finally found some. Woohoo.

  • +1

    thanks, grabbed 5 for DEFT

    • were you able to use all 5, i had 4 work no issue but the 5th now errors and when i check balance there is nothing wrong so think maybe DEFT is the issue.

      • no, my 1st did not work :( will try again latter today

      • I also cannot use on DEFT either - never had an issue before ever

      • I had issue when processing the 5th transaction. Maybe that's the transaction limit not card limit.

      • I was blocked by DEFt a few months back when I did back-to-back transactions.
Try using the last card without logging and checking out as a guest.

    • @bigcheeseNZ @n0mad @The Project
It seems DEFT randomly blocks the Coles MC. The pro-tip is to try again later and not to repeat failed payments. If the payment fails, wait a few hours and don't get all your cards blocked by trying them immediately after the failed payment. I managed to get 4 out of 5 payments went through.

      • thanks i got the same 4 out of 5, will try again tomorrow with the failed card, otherwise i'll use it elsewhere

      • +2

Cheers bumpyhead. When I broke them down into smaller transactions, they went through without any issues. Bizarre. First time experiencing this

        • Same here, I used 3 cards for strata, with payments of $99.61 + $0.39 (0.4% fee) = $100, all approved (doesn't matter the name on the card). I previously tried $249.01 + $0.99 = $250, but all declined.

        • Thank you, transaction was declined when putting $250 in, $100+$150 went through

      • FYI i was able to use the same card they failed yesterday, today plus an additional card no issues now. perhaps a limit when too many transactions in a short time.

  • +2

Went to my local one at TTP, staff refused to let me buy more than 4 and confiscated my 5th card, even though the limit is 5 per person.
I guess some people have to have their power trip…

    • Show the the catalog as stated 5 card per flybuy account. Or apply for 50 flybuys account

      • T&C say 'subject to availability' and 'while stocks last'. While it is kinda crappy of them to do, these lines allow the retailer to limit how many you can buy at their discretion.

  • Dumb question incoming

Trying to part payment with ATO
Not letting me input card details so do you have to provide details of cards and wait for pending amount to clear?

    Cheers for any advice

  • Went to Cole’s Rundle mall. Only one card left. Customer service said they got a whole batch in last night but as the limit is five per flybuys I assume some people come in with 7 or 8 fly buys cards. I once saw a person running three self serve checkouts with the cards all awaiting authorisation from the staff member. It is easy money and a good way for some people to get rid of their cash and these cards are extremely negotiable for payment of goods and services. More so than say the woolies vanilla cards.

    • Try TTP (though bad experience with staff) or Ingle Farm, if you live up north east

  • Can I use it on trip.com to pay for flights??

  • Heaps at my local at 9am, saw about 3 others also going to buy 5. Probably all gone by now though

  • Anyone tried to add it to PayPal and then buy Woolworths egift card from RAA? It worked before but not working now? Looks like PayPal won’t allow this card to make the payment anymore?

    • I had three cards go through ok but now getting declined via PayPal.

  • Plenty of stock at the sh!t Coles Northcote Plaza (IYKYK)

  • Lots of $250 cards at Colonnades Coles. The store doesn't put up the specials sign for the cards until a few days into the deal, which means people in the know can easily buy the cards before other customers realize what's going on. I like that!

  • +1

The percentage savings have been covered in previous posts but I thought it would be worthwhile posting the savings in dollar terms.

Effectively you are buying 257 + 4000 bonus points for $7
4257 points is worth $21.285. Need to minus the $7 card fee.

So each card is worth $14.825 + any CC points you are able to earn and assumes you value the FB points at face value.

For each 1 FB account, buying the maximum of 5 cards will net you a total saving of $71.425.

    • Hi, just wondering, have you ever tried using the coles mastercard gift card at trip.com website for flight booking?

      • If your flight costs less than $250 then I don't see why the card would not work.

    • can we split into multiple $99 payments and get 2% HSBC cashback?

      • +1

You can, but you need to go to a standard checkout (one operated by a dedicated checkout operator). If you attempt to do split payments between payment cards at a Coles self checkout when purchasing a gift card, you will trigger an error message that needs to be cleared by a staff member.

It also depends on whether the staff member operating the checkout knows how to do split payments and is happy to do that (and some staff will not be happy).

        • +1

lady at the counter was more than happy to split the payment. very good experience.

  • tried the card with Sniip doesn't work. any ideas?

  • Can anyone update on how to check balance with these cards? Website doesn't seem to be working.

    • +1

      Open the website in incognito

      • +1

        or use a different browser

    • +3

I just used https://www.mybalancenow.com/ and it worked fine. (I opened it whilst in private/incognito mode on my web browser.)

Alternatively, you can call the phone number printed on the back of the gift card to get the available balance over the phone.

  • Can we earn the bonus points for a different flybuys number but under same account with another number ?

    • +1

      No.

      • Oh dear

  • -4

Does anyone know can the system detect if we purchase more than 5 GCs per Flybuys account?

    • -1

no it can't detect I brought ten today and it didn't say anything
