  • What's a good QFF earning card these days?

  • Sad, i opened a card earlier this week

    • +6

Still sign up through the link attached. Believe others has still tracked even after they’ve signed up to a new CC.

    • +2

It should still work cause you haven't got any points yet.

    • I had opened a couple of weeks back and still hasn't earned any points but it says my card is not eligible as it is used in last 12 months :/

    • "…link your Qantas Business Rewards Account…"
So does that mean I won't get them with a standard personal frequent flyer account?

  • +1

Be aware, with the Qantas Premier Card “ You will receive the higher first-time cardholders extra points offer if you apply and are approved for a Qantas Money Premier Platinum credit card, even if you have registered for the 20,000 extra Qantas Points offer.”
Luckily when I had spoken to the operator about whether I’d get both they had said I would, so they still honoured it.

    • Qantas Premier Card, absolute trash card, no longer a churn card for me with the crap bonus and high annual fee

      • After the first three months, once points are credited just downgrade to a lower tier card. Annual fee is pro rated. $130 annual fee total if I remember correctly.

        • I didn't realise they pro-rata'd, in that case surely you would just cancel?

          • @MrThing: You could cancel once swapping to a lower tier card, but you’ve already paid for the remainder of the year. So if you’re churning to another card, cancelling once swapping could be an option. If not, in my case just using for daily spending.

        • hey mate, Could you please tell me how the AF comes to be about $130?
The AF for Qantas premier platinum is 349.
after 3 months if you change it to Qantas everyday, that has an AF of $99.

So wouldn't the total cost of AF to the user be 239?

  • Would recommend opening a BankSA trans account and then getting their amplify visa, with the bonus is 100k plus 2 lounge passes for $204. I assume St George and BoM have the same deal

    • Price seems to be $295 plus $75 annual QFF program fee

      • Not if you’re an existing customer, then it’s $139 + $75 QF fee so I was $10 out

        • does anyone know whether you have to opt in to the $75 QF fee to get the sign up Qantas point bonus?
Can I still get the bonus Qantas points for spending xx in xx months and not sign up the $75 QF fee?

          • @deskii: It’s automatic if you get the QF Amplify

            • @6079 Smith: oh i see, so you gotta pay it regardless

              • +1

@deskii: I really don’t get why they don’t just roll it into the annual fee

                • +1

@6079 Smith: So when you hit the roof over the annual fee you'll just think it is the bank being greedy when $75 is for qantas. Better to be transparent.

  • Perfect timing for me to start churning QFF. Thanks OP.

This is a long standing offer from Qantas. Not sure if its a bargain

    • +1

      Offer ends 31 March.**

      • +1

Its been going on for past 3-4 years.

    • It pops up 2/3 times a year, most recently in January which is weird timing but far from an always on offer

  • +1

Will Virgin match in March or April? What do we think?

    • +1

I've been holding out and saw they did on in Feb and June last year, so fingers crossed!

  • What if my misses signs up to this then i tranfer her some points.
She only works 2 days so I dont think she could get a credit card.

    • +1

      Just answered your own question

  • Will i get the 20,000 points if I signed up and was approved for the NAB Qantas Rewards signature card 2 weeks ago? The Qantas website says this I am eligible and then says this at the top of the page - You've activated 20,000 extra points as a first-time cardholder.** Explore credit cards….

    • If it's on the list of cards, probably. Can't hurt to try

  • Thanks OP, activated the offer and let’s try my luck with the Amex card

  • +2

Pity qantas is devaluing the crap out of their points
Literally could not find a seat worth buying the last 3 times ive tried to go overseas

  • New frequent flyer account/email, since $75 QF fee.?

  • Does anyone know how long it takes to show up in your account? I activated the Jan offer, and have since made eligible purchases and have also received points from my card!

    • If you have successfully fulfilled the offer requirements, please allow up to 12 weeks for your 20,000 extra Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account with the description ‘Credit Card Bonus’.

      This is from the **

I'm also waiting for mine with the first points from the card being on 25/2. Will be checking if I get them in May.

  • The way I read the terms and conditions. Need to register on Qantas website by 31 March, but don’t need to apply for the card by 31 March. Just need to apply after the confirmation email received, make an eligible purchase within 30 days and Qantas Points earned must be credited by 30 June 2025.

Is this the way others are reading this? Only important to me due to exclusion period for the card I plan to apply for ending in April.

    • Yes I read it like this too. What's the eligible purchase though?
