        • @pegasusx: I bet you can. It worked with a DSE item last year.

        • @inherentchoice:

Did you get the 20% off after contacting eBay?

        • @pegasusx: can't recall exactly. I think the whole thing was refunded because it was out of stock when I finally got my order in. It's pretty ridiculous that they promote the code but it doesn't work.

        • @inherentchoice:

FYI. Tried to purchase using full price as I got a confirmation of refund 20% from ebay if it does work.

Unfortunately it doesnt. Still takes me to that error code without the CLICK20

        • @pegasusx: Alright that's interesting. I will wait for Supercheap auto to reply to my eBay message.

        • +1

Paid price + Delivery - 20% discount. Ebay to refund the shipping amount.

  • For any purchase of Electronic appliances from GoodGuys on ebay does the manufacturer warranty holds same as it is given from the GoodGuys in store ,
Is the bill from good guys or ebay.

I was looking for washing machine from ebay Goodguys store.

    • Goodguys arent included in the sale. Go in and haggle a better price. Also you get a goodguys invoice so warranty is same same.

    • +1

You get the same invoice you get when you walk in and buy something!

    • +1

I got a fridge from them in March. The delivery and receipt were from the nearest store.

    • Thanks Guys..If not GG then can you suggest any other store where i can get better deals

      • i just walked into GG here in wagga wagga.
        Spoke to the franchisee.
He was willing to do the 11 inch Asus EEBOOk they have on ebay with 20 percent off price for instore.
So yeah they will do it instore as well might depend on if manager is a prick or not though this guys usally really good.

Are they worth getting for watching movies late at night in bed.
Or are they shit at playing back 720p Films

        • Thanks buddy will try to talk to the manager, earlier I tried calling GG helpline but there they said that they will not match the online price with in-store as online ebay is the retailer and not GG.

Still worth giving a shot as in-store would be a better.

        • @SinghOz:
I think realy i only lucked out.
as 1 small store in regional nsw.
and 2 close to tax time manager don't give a (profanity) as can claim it back anyway as a loss.

But yeah good laptop for sister to take to her uni as she only uses word and facebook.
          So i grabed one

  • The Apple TV 4 from Kogan hasn't increased in price yet if anyone is interested. Should be close to the $197 delivered from the previous Ebay sale.

    • Yeah or just get Roku,or a cheap android box.
      SUPERIOR in every single way.
Only ppl who are stooges by the apple tv.

  • some real good sales happening as of late..im impressed!

  • Wow.. Wireless1 still around? They closed their Parramatta store. Presume its all online now?

    • +2

They opened a store around the corner from the original Westfield store (Church St, Paramatta)

      • I was wondering where they went. Rent too high obviously in We$tfield$. But then again, Church Street businesses are going down too with a fraction of customers or throughput.

        • +1

That's because paramatta is a turd hole. Too many thugs in that area. I have been avoiding that place for a decade now.

  • +2

S7 Edge will be close to $800.

  • +3

3ds XL from kogan was $257 now $282 REALLY NOW?

    • +13

      Kogan are total cocksmokers.

    • +5

MightyApe have it for $225 + $7.99 shipping. After 20% off it comes down to $180 + $7.99 shipping. The saving is a little over 25% compared to the normal $249 price in stores.

      • Oh wow! Thanks for that :)

      • Damn, that's a great price. I'm going overseas in a month and been wanting a 3ds so I could hop on the tourist refund scheme. Dunno if I should wait for another sale with a better price for the 3ds and get a refund, or just buy the mightyape one which isn't eligible for TRS.

        • I would buy it now due to the fact that many stores have cleared out their DS stock. A lot of our local retailers don't sell DS's any more and the few that do rarely have discounts of this level. I work at a BigW and the last time the XL was on sale it was $236 from $245 (or $199 for the animal crossing bundle but stock for that is quite rare now considering most went then). $188 delivered is a sweet price when compared to Target's clearance of the non-XL one for $149 (pretty much only $39 more for the XL).

        • +1

          @watty:
          Alright, you've convinced me. Thanks

        • @watty: I was thinking about buying it too - but I kind of want a Special Edition console so I don't think 25% off is enough of a discount for me to get a "generic" edition console.

        • @divineiniquity: I thought about getting the Monster hunter special edition ($61 more expensive) one but in reality that 20% could go towards monster hunter generations itself ($59.95). I mean collectors edition consoles are priceless to some so it's entirely up to you! (The fanboy in me is hoping you will buy a limited edition one!)

        • +1

@scarypacman: Wish eBay or MightyApe would give me a commission :P

        • @watty: My first 3DS console was the Pokemon X&Y one - solely bought it to play X&Y and I have no regrets. Gonna do the same for MHGen since I'd like a N3DS anyway. Sadly red is not my favourite colour…

      • HA! Just bought the 3DS XL for around 180. At my time of purchase they had roughly 9+units left. Now they've taken down all the listings, and when I check back to how many they've sold - it's a mere 5 units.

These guys must really not like selling things for cheap..

  • Is the Groupon ebay voucher still available?

    • I dont know if you can combine the two

      • Nope only one code per purchase. Not stack-able.

Tell me about it, they sold me a Moto X and the battery is borked but they're telling me they can't replicate the issue. I'm gonna need to take it above their heads.

    • +5

They bought Dick Smith because they embrace as d$&ks themselves

  • +1

Ah! Not even the Sony eBay store sells PS4s.

    • Their eBay store is factory seconds only, anyway.

Dodgy kogan: iphone 6s 128gb $1501.99 for grey stock, advertising around $123 more then Apple rrp

Don't forget upto 2% cashback at ShopandMint

Are you sure it is a good idea to post links to ShopandMint? Check current forum discussion on whether that cashback company is still alive. They also haven't updated the coupons on their eBay page since March.

    • What was the cashback site you were talking about where you have to pay to join but they offer a higher rate? I remember reading about it in a forum.

      • webloyalty.com.au? Still evaluating.

        • Seems like an interesting concept. Have updated deal with Pricepal and Cashrewards.

        • +2

Just noticed this deal is valid in New Zealand for Culture Kings, KG Electronic, Style Tread, SurfStitch and Wireless 1. You could put it up on ChoiceCheapies so they don't miss out on the fun :)

  • Wouldn't mind the Sony KDL43W800C, comes down to $679.20. But it's refurbished and Jb are selling brand new for $799

    • you still get 12 months warranty

    • +2

Yeah I had a look at the Sony 'refurbed' TVs when I was after a 55W800C, they had the cheapest.
But theyre actually 'Seconds' which mean that they could be either:
      ex-demonstration,
      box damaged or
      manufacturer refurbished

Here's a message I got from them asking about their seconds stuff.

They can't tell you which one of the above it is, and they state NO RETURNS on seconds stuff if you don't like the item. Also there could be cosmetic damage on the TV itself.

I decided this is pretty crap and not worth the savings, then picked up a new W800C for cheaper than they were selling it for anyway, from JH Hifi.

      • Still have to honor consumer guarantees tho.
You can argue that and get a 2-3 year warranty.
i bought a factory second. Hx850 few years back for 700 less than anywhere else lasted 3 years bitched about it go them to pony up for a W8 when it broke.
        So yeah.
Still far easier just to go into Jbhifi or good guys and haggle ur ass off for less hassle with returns though.

8TB Seagate 'Archive' HDD from FUTU for $276 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Seagate-Archive-8TB-3-5-Internal-…)

Not bad for local stock but not the lowest they've been. I got mine for about $250ea from Kogan earlier in the year but it looks like they no longer sell them :(

  • About time ebay stand by what they say and offer a level playing field - ie: 20% off all sellers.

  • +1

The only seller that might not jack up prices could be the goodguys heh, name speaks for themselves. We shall see….

Actually they are not on the list this time LOL

    • Just about the only honest retailer on Ebay!

  • +6

I thought it was found to be against the ACCC's decision to hike prices on sales (looking at you ruslan kogan!) Looks like Kogan bought more than dodgy dick's name, looks like he bought their philosophy too!

    • The only way is everyone gather up and log a case with A Current Affair. Media needs to expose this dodgy scheme title "dodgy online sellers jacking prices on eBay discounts"

  • Anyone can recommend a good router in this sale? Must have decent QoS capabilities for better gaming experience. I currently own a TPLink Archer C7 that seems to be dying with random sporadic dropouts.

    • +1

The Asus RT-AC68U for about $191 from Wireless1? I had planned to get it from Futu but their price has 'mysteriously' gone up so dip out on my purchase.

      • Was actually looking at it right now. I'm torn between that ($191), Linksys WRT1900ACS ($228) and Netgear R7000 Nighthawk ($196) - would you still pick the Asus over the other 2?

        • +1

I've had an Asus RT-AC68U for about a year now and I can't fault it.

        • R7000 and AC68U are usually neck to neck in terms of performance. Check out some reviews.

        • @greencomet: went with the Asus as well. Thanks!

        • As a networking IT Bobblehead.
Get the ASUS. if you can get the one with the Modem as well.
As if you have ADSl2. You can fiddle with the SNR stats on the asus router to get a few more MBPS. mine i danked it from about 15.6Mbps up to 17.92 and still doesn't drop out.
Plus the user interface is just laid out better.
Linksys is the downys of routers don't touch them unless you go into the high end Prosumer range.

Nighthawk has a bit more power in the output of the Wireless but only like 10 percent more.
It's really just a gimmicky router.

          I would chose the asus.
Now that i have seen the price i might grab another one for back of the house to use as extension.

Surface Pro 4's are included from Futu Online for ayone interested. The i5/8GBRAM/256GBSDD model is a juicy 1600 with the 400 off. Oh man I'm tempted, but my new gaming desktop PC…

On that note, if anyone sees a good i7 CPU in there let me know!

  • I still don't get why stores do this considering eBay is taking the hit….

    • +2

It's called greed and treating customers like idiots. They believe it's the best opportunity to get bang for buck to make their financial books look good, end of financial year. There are many out there would buy without checking

    • +1

I still don't get why stores do this considering eBay is taking the hit….

Why do you think that ebay is taking the full 20% hit and not sharing this with the retailer in some way? Why do you think this is limited by retailers? Perhaps because they have agreed to fund part of this.

      • Exactly!

eBay also benefits from the 20% price increases.
A price increase of 20% (jacking up prices) followed by a price decrease of 20% (eBay sale) effectively makes no change.
eBay will still get their nominal ~10% fee for stores making a sale.

This whole sale is basically a marketing ploy to effectively increase the number of sales.

However, there are some stores that are genuinely having a sale in which case, eBay will lose by collecting smaller portion of the 10% fee.
Hence, it will be in eBays best interests to encourage price increases across the stores.

        • Exactly!

You missed the point of what I was saying.

eBay also benefits from the 20% price increases.

There are few verifiable cases of prices increasing by 20% as a result of the sale. Prices change all the time for various reasons.

eBay will still get their nominal ~10% fee for stores making a sale.

These big stores pay nothing like 10%.

Hence, it will be in eBays best interests to encourage price increases across the stores.

Why? Aside from the legalities that would see them fined and lose a huge amount of customers there is really no benefit to eBay.

    Holy Shit OMG!!!!!!

  • Couldn't see any 200GB Micro SD cards

  • Are the Intel i5 NUCs good prices on Kogan or Futu? I'm considering one to user for light desktop work and a Plex Server.

      • +3

        Yet it still pains me

It's always worth it. I have seen people do a lot more here to save $1.

  • +3

I realize that every time when it comes to 20% off I couldn't find anything to buy. And when it ends, I instantly remember that I need to buy something and have to wait next sale. And the same thing happens again …

    • +2

I always just add stuff to my watchlist on eBay and then I never forget haha there's always a sale around the corner tho :)

      • +3

I've got a 'buy list' on my phone that I refer back to during the sales and keep adding to it through the year as new desires or needs arise.

  • Thanks for that! Been stalking the Acer XB1 for a while - bought through Futu works out $879 with this discount - Sweet deals!

  • Thanks OP, got something from Ted's. hopefully they will honor it.

Edit: Last chance for cashreward, if this doesn't track, i am done with them

    • what did you end up buying from Teds that they wouldn't honour?

      • I read that last time they cancelled some orders and people missed the discount.

  • Any nvidia 1070 or 1080's?

    • Nope.
Maybe they will be added before the offer expires.
