        • Possibly, I also contacted Kogan to see if they could give me a definite answer.

I also checked their website and the exact item on their website is "This Product is offered and supplied by Kogan Australia Pty Ltd"
          https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/apple-13-macbook-air-mjve2a-16g…

        • @ozweb:

          So TRS is okay?

        • @ezza: No idea. I contacted Kogan about if it's from Australia or not. No response yet.

If it's from Australia then you'll get an invoice with GST on it so TRS is okay.

    • It isn't worth to buy any Apple products from overseas because you cannot get the warranty from AppleAustralia unless you are willing to send the product back to the original country.

make sure to use https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248701 combine with this deal

    • Is that offered via a code? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you won't be able to combine them as you can't stack codes.

      • Yep I already tried it and it doesn't work, due to it being another code

Pissed that companies keep 'humping up' prices just for a sale, then after the sale finishes dropping them down again. Kogan got fined $32k for doing this.

If anyone has issues with the price increases for the sale, make a complaint with the ACCC. That's what I'm doing.

    • +1

Maybe we should all boycott Kogan too.

  • +3

Many cameras and lens on sale, especially from Ted's camera where they didn't jack up there prices so far.

    • What are the chances that Ted's will add more listings to their ebay store? seems limited atm

    • +6

      That's because Ted's prices come pre-jacked…

      • Still better than kogan post-jacked price. Although I bought a 35mm F2 IS lens from Kogan as Ted doesnt have it listed.

    • I just checked the Canon 760D 18-135 kit, they have it for $1,272 on teds.com.au while the same in their ebay store is $1,399.

  • Dead of winter is pretty cheap on mighty ape

  • I'm trying to make a second order though Futu online. My first order had 2 items which went though OK.

With the second order, which has only 1 item I get this error:
The item you've selected wasn't added to your cart.
You're currently winning or have bought the maximum allowable amount of this seller's items in the last 10 days.

Anyone seen that error before? I didn't think a store would NOT want you to make multiple purchases though them?

Kogan is unfairly playing with this code at the moment since a deal posted yesterday for their online store (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250489) for the Pioneer 5.2 Channel AV Receiver with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (VSX830) at $599 is way cheaper that their Ebay deal for the same product even after 20% discount (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pioneer-5-2-Channel-AV-Receiver-w…). Might have to buy this one directly from their website.

Kogan is unfairly playing with this code at the moment since a deal posted yesterday for their online store

Why are they playing unfair? They have a special on their website but not on eBay and you're complaining about this!

Generally, an item is listed as a factory second will have failed quality inspection for cosmetic, rather than functional, reasons. Such items are often heavily discounted, but may not have as all-encompassing a warranty or guarantee as a full-quality item (for example, the product may be non-returnable).

Looks like a lot of stores jacked up their prices before this offer, shame

    • +1

And guess what? They will cancel your order and deem errors when they want.

      • Real shame. Discount is more like 10% - 5% in most cases since they jacked it up hours before this launched

  • No camera deals on Kogan or Ted's as far as I could see.

    • Yer, I wish they could have listed 1DX Mark II.

What body are you looking for?

I can see there are okay good deal on lenses.

      • None right now. I recently ordered an Olympus EM10ii from DWI for $539 (body only) which is pretty good. Kind of happy there are no deals on that camera here!

Was looking at MFT lenses though and there isn't much to get excited about.

You're looking for the big flagship Canon hey!? How much is that going for $8K??

        • Ya, local stock of 1DX2 starts from $8.5k and I'll be excited to see anything around $7k.

I'll be even happier to see super-tele lens deals. The best I have seen is a brand new EF 600mm F4 IS II for around $10k, $7k for a body sounds too much me. I always prefer investing on lenses over body.

I am planning to get a mirror-less for my lady. Yeah, EM10II and EM5II drawn my attention and I really like them for what they can deliver at that size, at that price.

        • @icecream: If you're into long tele lenses, the 7dm2 is meant to be great, way cheaper and gives you that extra reach of course over full frame. But if you're after the 1DX2 you must know you want it. I'm a Nikon guy, so am drooling over the new D500. Perfect lens for sport/wildlife.

The little MFT camera system is great (I currently have a GX7, which I am going to sell). So many great little prime lenses, and the bodies have a tonne of cool features. Looking forward to using 5 axis IBIS with my primes when I get the EM10ii :)

    • Teds always pulls off their camera and lens listings during these ebay promo code sales.

      • Yes, you are exactly right.

    • I got a Canon PowerShot SX710 HS for $250 from Ted's, so not a bad price.

I would have preferred a Nikon S9900 from Kogan, but not after they jacked up the price.
Interestingly, on the few item's I've looked at, Kogan's store now has the most expensive prices on all of ebay. Some even above RRP. Are they just hoping people are too stupid to do a quick search before hitting "Buy It Now"?

    • +1

Prices for SuperCheap Auto's 20% eBay sale is worse than their catalogue sale from 3 weeks ago.

I was able to combo their Catalogue sale with the 10% off Click Frenzy sale. Purchased the Medium sized Car cover-Gold Protection for $89.99 including free postage from Melbourne/Altona.

The same item on eBay with 20% discount is $100.00

Am glad I didn't waiting for the 20% Supercheap Auto eBay sale.

Prices for SuperCheap Auto's 20% eBay sale is worse than their catalogue sale from 3 weeks ago.

For everything they sell, or just for the car cover you bought?

      • +1

Its definitely not just my car cover. An example list of SuperCheap deals that have got more expensive since the time of my purchase:

        Supercheap Auto - 2.4" In-Car Dash Camera $59.
Now higher on eBay for $143.20

        Sony MEX-N5150BT Car Headunit MP3/BT/AM/FM $139.
Now higher on eBay for $239.20.

SCA Ladies Tool Bag - 31 Piece $29.99.
Now higher on eBay for $43.99.

Shell Helix HX5 Engine Oil $14.88.
Now higher on eBay for $23.90.

Valvoline XLD Engine Armour Engine Oil 10W-30/40, 6 Litre $19.34 now higher on eBay for $34.39

        • Supercheap Auto - 2.4" In-Car Dash Camera $59.
Now higher on eBay for $143.20(ebay.com.au)
          etc…

It's pretty common for prices of items to vary between sales. Some sales aren't as good as others. What matters is the price now, since those previous cheap prices aren't available anymore. I bought a GoPro 4 Silver for $319, but if it goes on sale now for $350 I'd still upvote it as it's a good deal.

  • Anything worth buying?

  • Does anyone know if Futu Online stock is Australian Stock?

    • Yep they are.

  • Yep, price hikes everywhere.

    • Yep, price hikes everywhere.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250612#comment-3740472

If you're going to post claims that price hikes are occurring you should have to post proof because in nearly every single claim I've seen the person posting has no idea what they are talking about.

  • Purchased a QNAP TS-251 2 Bay NAS from Futu Online. Price before discount was $399 which is competitive, discounts brings it down to $320.

    LOL @ Kogan.

Steelseries H Wireless headset RRP is $399.
Last week Kogan eBay were selling it for $420, now they're selling it for $491

    Nice try f-wits.

Steelseries H Wireless headset RRP is $399.

They last sold one on ebay for $428 on the 22nd of April.

The price on ebay also matches their website price.

      Nice try f-wits.

What exactly is your point? They didn't jack the price up for the sale and they are selling it above the recommended retail price. So what.

  • +1

They're all scum for hiking the prices. eBay is the one giving the discount, but all the stores just decide to take advantage of it. They're essentially stealing the savings the buyers should be making and pocketing it for themselves. Disgusting.

    • +4

The good guys never seem to hike prices during these sales. They are the only good guys around.

      • +1

Same with Peters of Kensington when they participate. But then everyone seems to buy from them, stock runs out and people have a whinge about stuff being Out of Stock.

      • Yep agree, they are the only major electrical retailer that doesn't consistently break the law. Yet another reason the JB Hifi takeover is a worry.

      • True. And I also saw Binglee prices to be similar with their website.

    • They're all scum for hiking the prices. eBay is the one giving the discount, but all the stores just decide to take advantage of it. They're essentially stealing the savings the buyers should be making and pocketing it for themselves. Disgusting.

Ebay is not offering the whole discount, the retailer is funding part of it. Why do you think they have a limited number of sellers taking part in it each time. When they do the sitewide percentage off ebay are funding it 100%.

      • Do you have any reference how this 20% works?

I was told by TGG staff eBay gives the discount not the store. Now someone tells a different version.

I'm keen to know the truth.

        • +1

I was told by TGG staff eBay gives the discount not the store.

They likely don't really know what the agreement is like between management and eBay.

I'm quite sure eBay isn't footing the whole 20%. If they did, why would they only restrict it to a number of stores, promoting those stores in the process? They'd get much more attention and sales if they made it 20% sitewide. The individual stores would likely have to put in a bit as well, as they're getting their name promoted, along with an influx of sales.

        • @eug: Agree, whoever has no access to full statements of this 20% promo campaign likely doesn't know the truth.

          Who really does know?

        • Do you have any reference how this 20% works?

Do you think it's going to available in the public domain?

I was told by TGG staff eBay gives the discount not the store. Now someone tells a different version.

Why would the people at the counter in the store know anything about the costs of selling on ebay which is handled by a totally separate area in another state?

I'm keen to know the truth.

You've been told it but you still don't want to accept it.

If you are one of those judging base on your very own opinion, then keep it to yourself.

I am not refusing any info. I called up to head office, eBay customer service, tried to validate the versions I was told.

Yet, there is no conclusion can be drawn.

Why would ebay tell you anything about private agreements?

Yes there is but once again you refuse to accept that these retailer specific percentage discounts are funded by both the retailer and ebay.
