Also, in the government store, you cant use your points to make partial payments
When trading in, what stops one from trading in an imaginary S24 ultra, saying it has a cracked screen, and only being charged the $1 fee? Am i understanding that right?

Two reasons - 1) Once you say the phone has cracked screen the trade in value drops to nearly nothing and secondly Asurion places security charge on your card effectively charging you value of the trade in until they receive and assess the phone.

They charge you the cost of the replacement phone and then refund that once they get the phone.
So say the trade in value is like $500, they reduce your order by that amount and then charge the $500 to your card. Once they get the phone, they refund the charge. If you don't send in a phone then they don't refund the charge.
You might as well do it with the cheapest phone rather than the most expensive.

Shame they've removed Bluetooth from the S Pen. Being able to use it to take photos remotely was a great feature. Now won't be getting the S25U as I originally planned.

If you purchased a S25+ for example, you get $100 bonus trade in on the EPP store, so you are essentialy $40 up.Hope this helps..

The $400 bonus on tradein worked for me twice in the same transaction. i had 2 phones and got the bonus twice on two trades.

Asurion places security hold / charges you the value of the trade in upfront so it will be whatever the trade in value plus $60 non return fee.
the security hold is that in the same invoice payment with Samsung online?
Asurion charges the security hold separately before the order payment just after you go through the trade-in process.

You need to buy it on the app to get the 5% first time discount.
Using the EPP email, the Samsung Shop app wouldn't show the "correct" prices for S25U - ended up pulling the plug on web.
- Open the Samsung Shop app
- Click account on bottom right
- Scroll down to the bottom
- Click Select Store
- Epp Store should show up on there if it's linked to your account. At least Education and Government store shows up there for me.
If your epp store show up, select the store and proceed with the purchase.

I was able to cancel the accessories just after my order went through. I haven't received the order confirmation email yet but received the cancellation email with correct refund amount but haven't received the funds yet.
Where did you go to submit the cancellation?
if you go to your orders page there is a cancellation button. then it shows the list of items and you can choose which one you want to cancel and the reason for cancellation.

I also received my original purchase invoice and buds have been removed from that and also from final price. Total $867.06 for S25U and Kindsuit case! Very happy, as I sold my iPhone 15 Pro Max in the marketplace for $1450 (made some money by switching from iPhone to Samsung).

do you remember if you added case or buds3 pro to the cart first? if you follow the same step to cancel case, does it also select the phone? (just test it out, don't go ahead with the cancellation since you want to keep the case)
@CodeXD: I tried different phone storage capacites until I made my purchase. In the end, the accessories were in my cart before adding the phone.
@CodeXD: doesn't matter. selecting the item to be cancelled right under phone does trigger the tick box next to the phone. Just untick the box to the phone and cancel the item you wish to cancel (buds might be), and it will allow you to process.

I'm happy enough with $823.40 per phone including accessories and should be able to cancel galaxy buds 3 pro to take another $239 off which will make it about $704 per phone.

Not counting in 2 phones trade in, each s25 ultra outright cost would be (1646.8 + 390 + 135) / 2 = 2171.8 / 2 = $1085. If you can cancel / off load Galaxy Buds3 Pro, it would be $1085 - $239 = $846. Is my calculation correct?

The first accessory added with the phone will be bundled with it. So, if you want to cancel the Buds3 Pro, add the cheaper screen protector first.

Order confirmed but can’t cancel accessories. No worries, will take to local Samsung store when I get them. I’ll keep the magnetic case and the chargers, and return the other cases.

To address the matter regarding cancelling accessories:
After I received the confirmation email, I proceeded to login into Samsung account and went to Your Order.
I clicked CANCEL and it will then show a dialogue box showing what you ordered (in my case, 3 items).
You can select the accessory you want to cancel and you do need to give reason which I put as "Change of Mind".
Upon clicking confirm/ok, I got a confirmation dialogue box saying the accessory has been cancelled and subsequently received an email confirming the cancellation of the accessory. If you return to Your Order again, it will be shown the accessory you selected has been cancelled but NOT the others. I am still getting my phone and its anti-reflective film.
So it seems to be working. The next step is obviously confirming the accessory amount has been TRULY refunded through your choice of payment (eg: Paypal or Afterpay or CC) and if it does, by how much (fully or otherwise).

Ok doesn't work for me because I just got the phone and a keyboard cover for my S9 Ultra tablet. Cancelling selects both items like others have said.
It would seem like if you have Phone - Accessory 1 - Accessory 2 selected in that order sequence, then you can cancel Accessory 2. Selecting Accessory 1 would select the phone as well. Does this sound like what's happening?

@LostyJai: Yes. But that's a lower damage because had you chosen anti-glare (the cheapest accessory I think), then you would still be in the money by $180+. Now that I think about, if I want to eventually put protective silicone, do I still need this anti glare lol?

i think its only working with cases and other accesories not with watch or buds
You do need to wait for the confirmation email which I received literally 15 minutes ago on an order I made at lunch time.
It seems to be the top accessory or first accessory you choose which removes the phone. I was lucky and could remove the buds and case as not needed but I needed to keep the glass screen protector.
Hope that makes sense but select the cheapest accessory first so it shows up under the phone in the order break down.

yeah prob not. Sorry for the confusion. I usually buy glass ones hence the error. I could remove my case and buds but not the SP or it ticket the device also so I kept it on there.
My Bud3 Pro accessory was listed as the third in the order of display if this helps clarify.
Can confirm this is also what happened to me. I succesfully cancelled my second row accesories but not the first one as it will tick the phone as well
Which means if you are going to engineer a refund, need to select the Phone and its needed accessory FIRST (eg: Case, protective film, etc) before choosing the elective accessory which will list as the 3rd in the order sequence which you could then select for refund without affecting the first two.

I had two accessories. The anti glare and the Bud3 Pro. I would have been able to cancel them all had I wanted to but I wanted the anti glare. I successfully cancelled the Bud3 Pro. Now just waiting for confirmation from the payment method company.

Is the "$1 Trade-in value for Samsung S9 (cracked)" you just listing the S9 in the trade-in, and expecting it to only get $1 value? I have a S20+ with a damaged screen (Affects visual and touch). Just not clear what makes a device $0 value.
Initially it said $40 trade in value (for Samsung S9). However during checkout, it will ask you to verify more details like IMEI number and condition. I clicked that my phone was cracked so it went down to $1 value (I figured they would find out anyway when they received my phone + my security deposit to my card was only $1). I still got the bonus $150 and $400 trade in value on top of the $1 value for the device.

@akay0402: Not too sure what happens as I've always done it by the books just in case but I know many other users end up not returning the phone and copping the $60 charge. I'm assuming something like this might happen:
If you do send it to them, you get: $115 (device value) + $150 + 400 off = $665 off straightaway
If you don't send it to them you get: $115 + $150 + $400 (initially) - $115 - $60 = $490 off (but then you can sell your phone off privately/keep it). I'm assuming you don't get to keep the device value discount you initially received if they don't receive your phone. Plus the 60 charge

Yeap you'll be charged $360 (the discount they gave you for trade in) + $60 (for their troubles).
You can then do whatever you want with your phone.
I was able to cancel part of my order in the Samsung Shop app with no issues. Cancelled the Buds and got cancellation confirmation straight after. Still deciding whether I should cancel the kindsuit case too.
I suspect if you try to cancel the case, it will also cancel the phone as you only have one accessory so it'll be tied together.
I just checked and it will just let me cancel the case by itself. It doesn’t autotick the phone.

It can give that error if the email you are trying to used is already linked to another Samsung account. If that's the case it'll send emails to the school address saying such.
I think the issue is my actual Samsung account uses the same email address ([email protected]) instead a @gmail.com for example. So maybe I should change the email address in my Samsung account to @gmail.com and then use the vic.edu.au when I enter the EDU store.
Needs to be one that you can access and verify the otp.
If its a real one, it means its already been linked to an account. That account will be getting a security email.

My order was saying Awaiting Dispatch so I just clicked on Cancel order and then selected the galaxy buds and hit cancel. It reduced the total by the amount of the earphones.

@HappyBargainer: Expand the order. My order was accepted but once expanded everything listed was still at the first stage.
You will be able to cancel everything BUT the first accessory under the phone in the list as the fist item you select apply's the promo. So if a case is selected first, then buds and something else. You can remove everything under the case.
If you attempt to remove the first selected item, it removes the phone as you are removing the discount applied. Hope that makes sense but PSA choose the cheapest accessory first.

For an s25 trade in w s23 + buds3 managed to get it down to 418.30 (ie 518.30 less this 100 cashback offer). It will tell you at checkout before purchasing the full discount but you will already need to have committed to a trade in security charge I believe.
Possibly this could give up to $150 off for $1000+ spent but I'm not sure if this covers the phone specifically cause that promo ad they don't seem to be listed as a category but as this didn't apply to my case I'm not sure. It lists:

Not anymore - ordered 3 hours ago (S25 Ultra, Buds and case) and can't cancel the buds. Tried two Live Chat Agents and called - all said the same thing after checking. The person I spoke to (on the phone) also said I couldn't return the Buds and that I'd have to return the whole order, if I wanted to return anything.

Has never happened before plus the rep confirmed the refund amount. I have recorded time of call and verified refund amount multiple times. Finally, order amount updated on the portal to the phone cost only.
Be careful with Samsung, last time I bought Z Flip, the refund takes 3 months and 7 follow ups before I finally received my money back.

For the 150 and 400 trade in bonuses they seemed to auto apply for me when I clicked through to trade in my S22U which had a value of 340$400 for Ultra bonus trade in is a code you can get from your Memebrs app. Don't bother calling or chat. Just download the Samsung Members app and look around.
Then download and use the new Samsung Shop app and you get an extra 5% off your FIRST purchase.
Buy the $100 evoucher for $20 (arrives after a few hours) also from the Samsung Member app - NOT the Samsung shop app.
If you buy an Ultra, they also auto apply $150 trade in bonus also. Otherwise it will be $100 extra for other models.

Can someone please tell me how the trade-in works. I have a perfectly healthy S10+ that I was quoted $115 for. This would allow for $115 to be deducted plus the trade-in bonuses right. But if I choose not to send the phone I would be charged a fee of $60. Would I also be deducted of the $115 to my order? If I claim that my phone is broken I get quoted $1. I got a S21+ I want to trade in and there are minor scratch/dent on the top left corner from dropping it before. Top value I can get is $185 but when I go through check out and it asks the condition of the phone. Once I click scratches/dents it drops my phone value straight to $20. Go to Account in the bottom right and then scroll to the very bottom. There you can "Select Store" to either edu or gov.
The first one or two phones where my cable wouldn't stick in, I thought the port was failing and got rid of them. Usually it's just lint and other fluff that gets jammed in the port preventing full insertion. I use a sharpened wooden cocktail skewer to scratch the fluff off the bottom of the port (youtube it). Night and day difference, like getting a new phone.
I had a look with a light and unfortunately there's no lint, the sketchy part is that the USB C cable will work when its turned one way but not the other. Happens with any cable/charger combination I try.

I used PC to login my account, on top there is Westpac reward tab, go inside and search Samsung then it will show the link with Samsung, it will show 15% off but it actually is 20% off when you select the S25.

Maybe try to make sure the Trade-in value is $1. So you pay deposit of $1. You wont get that back.

Last year Asurion gave 14 days for you to return your trade in phone from the time the pre-ordered S24's were delivered.
The timing of this is really bad for me, as I go overseas before this years pre-orders are due to be delivered and I won't return before the 14 day return period expires. I want to port across my current S24 to the new phone before sending it back, so I need a few days after I get home to Aus to do this.

looks like samsung finally closed the accessories refund loophole but they went a little extreme blocking even the cancellation of the entire order.
having second thoughts about the jet black cuz 2-3 of my past samsung devices had paint chips on the frame (from putting on and removing of cases). Thinking of switch to one of the standard colors without the colored titanium frame but it's no longer possible to cancel the entire order.

There is a CBA Yello offer going on where you spend over $500 and get $100 credit back as long as you use a CBA credit or debit card on Samsung site. Not 100% sure if this is gonna work with EPP site, but its worth a shot for extra $100 savings.
I checked the terms and you need to purchase it from the Samsung CommBank Yello Online Store which seems effectively the same as the normal store. Can't seem to make use of the EPP site unfortunately.

If it does it will show you the reduced amount before final purchase confirmation, ie the 2nd final purchase after all the trade in security steps. But I doubt it will work outside of the Yello online shop portal. Worked for me via the Yello portal however since I didnt have an edu email.
As I already alluded to a few pages back there's also a $150 off for $1000+ purchases listed on one of the portal pages but I'm not certain this includes the phone category specifically.

Tried to combine shop 5% first purchase discount but couldn't make it work with the Yello store portal at all. 5% wasn't really even worth it for me in the end as I only got an S25 so the final amount was only $518 (less $100 with the Yello discount) but since the shop 5% only seems to apply to the final subtotal post discounts (unlike the edu 20% up front reduction) was only like another $20, may as well save it for something else of higher value down the line.
Probably jump on that edu/epp store quickly in case they revert it to a post voucher discount like the shop 5% I'd say.

@hanofee: Yeh I estimate it cost only about $100 more overall with the $100 Yello discount instead for an S25 but you do get the extra 256gb for that so not so bad. The edu/epp discount will be even better though for the higher cost S25's cause the 15-20% initial discount abviously amplifies a bit more.
Yeh got it down to $408 total (technically $418 including the cost of the buds3) after trading in an S23 with $390 trade in value and the Yello $100 discount applied at checkout (so went from $518 > $418 total). So technically if I wanted to return the Buds3 which were $209 with their bundle discount it'd really only be $208 total but I'll probably keep the buds, needed one more pair and curious to how it handles ANC without the inner tips etc (I can't use tips make me dizzy).

I opened a business account and it worked straight away by going to the business section web login and then clicking rewards. I just said I was a grape grower. Hopefully I can cancel without dramas lol.
A debit account was giving me the exact same issues. I called them up and they couldn't help. Try the business account. Please note I didn't read the terms and conditions so proceed with caution ! Only took 30 seconds. Didn't need ABN or anything.

@streetsmart: You do not technically activate it. You just become eligible paying with the right card through the Yello portal. Bit of a unorthodox Yello offer I'd never seen before. Just be careful noticed some store portals wouldn't give the inherent $100 (s25)/$150 (s25u) trade in bonus stacking with your actual trade in value.
Also just to double check is it true the edu/epp deal doesn't net you the free memory upgrade as through the regular store fronts? Bit of a minor niggle but still somewhat of a consideration I guess.

Yep, the memory upgrade is not offered in my epp at least but I saw it in the JB hifi offer, epp was still coming cheaper for me though, I'll have another look.
@streetsmart: Yeh I mean the extra memory is nice but not absolutely needed. My phone was starting to fill up and I couldn't be bothered to micro manage so kinda actually wanted the extra storage. If you do want the higher storage guess it works out about the same in overall value using the regular non student/epp store fronts factoring in the extra $200 for the memory upgrade.

just click cancel button and it will take you to the next page, which should allow you to choose which item to be cancelled. It will be stupid for any seller to provide refund option with a single click and without further confirmation, so no need to be worried too much. it won't cancel it that easy.

I managed to pay $279.02 trading in an S23 Ultra 512GB and cancelling all accessories except for screen protector (cheapest one - will return this as I'm going Spigen route) which would make it $260.49, or $280.49 taking into account the $20 voucher fee

First visit Samsung through Samsung Educational portal if you have student ID or through Samsung Partner portal through westpac, reward gateway, or govt partner portal.
1) Select the model of your choice S25, S25+ or S25 Ultra.
2) Select Trade in option and choose your old phone and Trade the phone if you have and it must be eligible.(You can trade Phone, Watch or Tab)
3) Select No to the Samsung Care
4) Submit to put it in the cart
5) it will show you some assessories. Just add minimum $200 of assessories (e.g. phone case, glass protector, Watch, Galalxy buds pro 3 etc)
6) Go to cartNow start using codes.

@bigsov: After about 20 mins you should get a confirmation Order and number saying its confirmed.
You will then get another one in approx half hour after that saying the same thing again.
Finally, the 3rd email will saying in the Subject: Your order is completed, Thans for choosing us with another one saying Your Voucher code is here which will have the code.
All up the time depending on your service and mail providers will be between 1 to 2 hours.
I guess Gmail and other similar providers may take a bit extra time to spool, and dont forget to check spam folders just in case. 👍
