Up to $400. Probably less for the base and plus.

  • Whats the subject of the email?

    • +4

"Extra value for our most valued"

      • Thanks. I dont have it yet

  • The Mrs got one of these, I didn't. Not sure what gives 🤷‍♀️

  • +2

Is their trade in still managed by Ausurion? Meaning pay $60 and pocket the $400 without trading anything in

    • -5

Thats not possible anymore as they hold the total value on your credit card now and only refund the trade in value upon receiving your device.

    • +7

Yep still Asurion, and yes, if you pick S7 edge to trade in you will get $10 discount (and they hold $10) and you can get $400 without trading in the phone.

      • +2

But will you still get the $60 admin fee? Or is choosing S7 Edge some kind of hack?

        • +1

S7 Edge is the furtherest back

        • +4

There is still fee but I read somewhere that phones with lower value is only $30 admin fee if you don't return it :)

I literally just scrolled down as far as I can and picked the last phone lol

          https://www.samsung.com/au/trade-in/

          • -2

@CodeXD: Used a disposable card number on Wise for the deposit when buying a S23 last tile and just cancelled it and they couldn't pull the $ 60

            • +3

@zerokas: Wouldn't they blacklist your account forever for that.

            • @zerokas: @CodeXD @zerokas

would you be able to explain more about the trade-in process, specifically on using Wise card. Why Wise card? Can you use pre-paid master card or pre-paid visa card? How much do you neeed in there?

Is the deposit a separate payment to the phone? Different invoice? Are you able to use different cards… one to pay the phone and another for deposit ?And like you said cancel the deposit card at a later time

            • @zerokas: DId they still charge you for the S23?

          • +1

@CodeXD: I had an A50 which was trading at $5. Turned out, my wife didn't tell me it had a broken screen. I sent it still and they returned it deducting $5 only and didn't charge me $60.

            • @Royale with cheese: I was thinking of trying this..

In-eligible Device Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the estimated reduction You received when Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device Online (excluding any additional trade-in bonuses offered) in accordance with clause 5.2(a) of these Terms and Conditions.

          • @CodeXD: dont u need the IMEI and other info of the phone for trade in?

            • +1

@Sydney11: Yes you can enter the details of a phone which might not be in perfect shape such as a broken screen.

      • is this way still working.

  • not sure I would get a code this year, I got S24U last pre-order

    • I did, and I picked up my first Samsung (S24U) last year during pre-order.

      • +2

I got my s24 ultra 256gb at $1050 last year. I don’t think that this year can get this huge discount

        • how did you get it that price?

did you get the free storage upgrade?

          • @pinkybrain: I didn’t get free storage upgrade. I went to Samsung government portal, 20% off rrp, $450 trade in bonus +$200 loyalty, $300 accessories and Cashrewards cash back. I used $300 to buy a watch, sold the watch on eBay. Finally down to around $1050 or lower, I couldn’t remember very clearly.

            • @sydracing: how much they charge for the S24 ultra 256GB?

So you have a government email account?

how much did you sell the watch for?

              • @pinkybrain: The rrp was $2199, so 20% off was $1759, I couldn’t remember the calculation, but it was like 1759-450-200 then plus watch price - 300 voucher. Watch was over $400, I sold it at $340. I have government email address. Education store was the same price

          • @pinkybrain: My S24U 256GB was in the $970 range after all the discounts, including the penalty for not sending in the low-value trade-in phone.

If you had a good phone and did send it in, I'm pretty sure I was seeing prices in the $5's and $6's in the OzBargain threads. After selling accessories and the watch, I'm pretty sure some people were net $200 out of pocket to get a brand new S24U.

        • Last year the offer was quite a hefty discount. It also had the accessories, and the galaxy watch giveaway (this wasn't well known). Ended up with s24u, tablet, chargers, and a top of the line watch for about this price. Just had to send in a $5 phone as tradein.
Maybe again we'll see something similar.

          • @tm32:

Last year the offer was quite a hefty discount.

depends on how desperate they are to sell phones on launch day..

Nowadays the improvements in phones every year is not that significant so there is less reason for people to upgrade every year (unless there is big discounts)..
So Samsung and Apple are focusing on software (e.g. AI) as a selling point.

Usually Samsung will get their best sales amount launch day…

These big discounts are also a PR move to say each year's phone launch was a success…
else they can get bad news headlines (e.g. poor sales of s25 etc) which would impact future sales of s25 and beyond…

What was the breakdown of the discounts you got to get the s24u, tablet, chargers, and a top of the line watch for approx $1050?
If you can post the checkout receipt you got last year would be good..

        • I ended up out of pocket $623 for S24U 256GB as far as I remember, after cancelling accessories, and sending in my trade-in S22U 128 GB

plus got the free watch6 LTE

          • @shabaka:

I ended up out of pocket $623 for S24U 256GB as far as I remember, after cancelling accessories, and sending in my trade-in S22U 128 GB

yeah this is one the good thing about buying samsung phone vs iphone is all the stackable discounts which drops these phones to very good prices vs paying $2K for one.
of course this also means many samsung phones loose value really quickly or greater drop in resale price vs. iphone

did you get the full discounts after cancelling accessories or only half amount?
and what accessories did you buy?

do you have full breakdown of the discounts that you got (plus the phone cost) and also how much you got for the s22 U?
how come you didn't get the free storage upgrade?

plus got the free watch6 LTE

nice, was that from filling the jotform etc?

did you keep it or sold it?
and how do you rate the watch (on it's own) and in comparison to apple watch (if you own one)

            • @pinkybrain: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16140309/redir

I got all the discounts from the invoice in that comment

I don't know how they (Samsung) calculate the totals with the accessories cancel trick, but I believe total was reduced by the individual price of each accessory that I cancelled. all of them were at reduced price in the invoice probably due to 9ne of the discounts getting pro-rated across the whole cart (phone and accessories)

I purchased buds2 pro, silicon case, and a smart tag. I cancelled just the buds and kept the other 2

buds were showing in the invoice as $196.15 and that's how much the final price was reduced by

S22U I got for $860 out of pocket after trading in pixel 6a

I can't remember about the free storage upgrade, I think that was on public website only? ordered via EPP

watch from jotform yes. watch is great but it's heavy and battery life is not good. I ended up buying a Galaxy Fit3. it's light, sleek, looks nice, does everything I need, lasts at least a week

I kept galaxy watch6 classic, I can trade it in for something later on.

              • @shabaka:

S22U I got for $860 out of pocket after trading in pixel 6a

how much did they charge for the S22 U 256GB before the discounts?

So are doing another trade in for S25?
and just going to use the watch 6 classic or S22 U as trade in?

                • @pinkybrain: I might do it if there's a good deal. yeah I will trade in gw6c and sell s24U separately. but I will gauge on the day because I reckon the only reason to change from s24U to s25u would be new interesting form factor and maybe more storage. will see. I am extremely happy with s24U no complaints whatsoever. it was a HUGE step up from S22U

                  • @shabaka: No change of form factor from S24U to S25U. The major difference is the ultrawide gets a 50mp sensor with a lower aperture instead of 12mp and of course the SOC. Personally I'm not gonna upgrade.

                    • @CVonC: weren't they going to go with iPhone like curved sides

                      • @shabaka: If by sides you mean corners, yes :)

                        • @CVonC: see! huge step forward, enough to justify upgrade

                          just kidding

will make the decision on the day

                          • @shabaka: lolz

One of the main reasons why I finally went back to Samsung is their 7 year support for the S24 series actually. But I'll be getting an S25+ for my friend most likely.

  • Are they sending these emails in batches? Anyway, I didnt get one.

  • You should be able to get this from chat on the day. Don't stress if you haven't received.

  • Nothing here either. Did get this though:

Go in the draw to WIN a $25,000 unforgettable adventure

  • +17

Looking forward to more code stacks to pay reasonable price for the S25Ultra, for minimal gains. first world problem
    So far,
    $400 trade in bonus
$200 accessories bonus - spend more to save?
    $100 voucher value -$20 cost = $80 bonus.
Will there be education and/or newsletter discounts?
Last year's S24U was about $1k with all the stacks.
    S23U preorder was about $900
S22U was the best at under $800
IMO, if out of pocket is around $1.1k would be great price for S25U, with inflations/greed. There seems to be bare minimal incentive to upgrade this year, maybe I'll just do a care+ mobile refresh for $99.

    • $200 accessories bonus - spend more to save?

It will depend on how the discount is distributed - if they split it between phone and accessories, then you can cancel the accessories and still have a portion of phone discounted.

    • +1

You forgot about the $200 eVoucher (GALAXY2025) which must be used in the first 72 hours.

        • +2

Ah that sucks. Really thought that $200 voucher was for the phone itself

      • +2

Fairely certain the GALAXY2025 is to be used on accessories, just like last year.
Spend more to save isnt my thing, most of the accessories are overpriced cases and screen protectors. Few worth while accessories are the smart tags and if you want a Galaxy watch(terrible battery).

        • To add to that items will be going out of stock and restocked constantly during this period, you'll likely have times when you can only spend part of what you wanted of that $200 and hope that they all come around to buy them.

        • -1

Reading the terms and conditions it doesn't say accessories.

        • Galaxy watch 7 series battery life is good. Agree it was poor before.

    • $200 accessories bonus - spend more to save?

      Is this for certain?

    • I'm keen to get a new phone. But what are they going to sell as the main selling point? Nothing and motorola are beating the flagships at half the price

      • +3

Nothing and motorola have nothing on Samsung S series camera.

      • Motorola were cool in the 90s.

      • +1

If this ships with a Snapdragon 8 Elite and the new battery tech that allows for significantly larger battery density, this will be the first flagship in a while that could have a meaningful improvement in both performance and battery life.

Combining that with what Samsung have been doing with cameras of late and we'll probably have the biggest generational improvement they've put out in years.

    • +1

With a trade in bonus of $400 and let says the $200 evoucher also works how could people get it for 1k or under in past years.

Won't the rrp for ultra like 2k at least for base model.

What other discount could we get on the day?

    • 20% edu/epp pricing. Normal store double storage.

    • +1

Also new email Samsung account, download the Samsung shop app to order and receive 5% off for the first order.

  • I got it too, just checked

  • Can someone share any terms and conditions that are outlined in the email?

  • +1

Downside is it looks like they've dropped the trade in value of phones. Maximum trade in value on a Samsung phone is $685. I'm guessing that would be for the S24 Ultra 1tb.

    • +1

Shows $890 as highest trade in value for a samsung phone for me. S24 Ultra 1tb

      • The trade in value changes based on the phone you want. In this case, by the time the S25U comes out, maybe the max would be $685 for it.

        • Well, it hasnt come out yet so the values havent dropped to $685 yet. Sounds like they are making the assumption that S24 values will drop to S23 once S25 is released but that hasnt always happened in past. They might but can't say they will for sure yet.
I think the S23U trade in price has been $685 for a while now as well. Trade in value doesnt change based on what you buy AFAIK.

          • @8azinga: S24U 256gb was 820ish last week. Now 759

            • @OZcheepsk8: That's still more than $685 the last time i checked. If values dropped last week, then i'd guess they wont be dropping again at release so dont know how Boulders thinks the max trade in for a Samsung phone is $685. Will have to wait and see if values do change once phone is available to purchase though.

              • @8azinga: @8azinga it states that in the bottom of the $400 voucher email. Save up to $1085 on a Samsung device. "Up to $685 for your old device" The only assumption I'm making on that is that would probably be towards the 1tb S24 Ultra.

  • +3

Or they could just stop with the rot and sell the phone for what it’s worth instead of the 10 fake rebates and trades and discounts

    • +23

but then we won't get that dopamine hit stacking 16 codes to get the latest samsung phone at 55.6% discount on release 🤣

      • +4

        That's it.

Even more dopamine hit when you sell it on fb for $100 off rrp

  • I chatted with Samsung customer service, he asked me to provide a screenshot of the email.
Is it possible you can take a screenshot of the email, and hide all the privacy information?
    Thank you.

  • What do you have to sign up to to get these codes?

  • Just got a A55 5G wonder how much to trade?

    • Cant trade A55

      • How come? Too new? I got it cheap on ozbargain deal.

  • Didnt get this or S24 codes but did get a couple for S23 deals. No idea what triggers the system into sending you codes.

    • Just wait nearer the day of the release

      • -2

What for? They usually only send out codes once for a particular offer dont they?

  • My son got one of these emails. I haven't.

  • +1

Thanks OP. just checked and got the email this morning

  • Do I have to sign up to some mail list to get on the s25 pre order?

    • +4

      IPhone junk. Go away.

    • +1

If only there were other non-Samsung Android devices

  • The trade in page only shows handsets as high as S24u with no S25u.

Also, what happens if we select Galaxy 7 edge but dont actually send it in, Will they just doc our CC the value they offer? Confused about this bit.

    • +5

Why would it show s25u when phone isn't even out yet lol

      • Dunno, wishful thinking perhaps :)

  • Did anyone order $20 e-voucher for the value of $100 for redeeming for S25 series? I ordered last evening, and received 2 emails - first confirmation of my order and 2nd one for completion of my order but haven’t received the voucher itself. Checked my spam folder also but nothing there. Will it be coming in a seperate email? Anyone received it?

    • Yes, there will be another email which will be received 1 day later

    • Yes I'm in same predicament, wondering why takes so long to send out a code for $20 voucher. Contacted chat agent they said check your spam but nothing there. He said wait and gave me 40% off fridges lol.
