        • Fyi I got my code today or maybe was last night forgot to check email timestamp

  • No email on multiple family accounts. Hmm…

  • Does this voucher stack with last week's one?

  • if I don't have anything to trade in on the list, is the best thing to do is just to buy the cheapest phone on the list and trade it in? i've never used a trade in before.

    • no, just say you're gonna trade in to get the bonus trade in value but don't trade in anything. Say you dropped the phone and can't trade it in anymore so they'll charge the value of phone + fee ($30 or $60 depending on phone)

      • interesting, thanks for advice!

        • don't think you can do that without the trade in phone + imei and install the trade up app

      • don't you need to install the app, provide imei of the phone and do the tests of the phone in the app, and answers questions about condition of the phone to get a trade in ID to get the bonus trade in discount?

        • Nope? You can do everything on the website without installing the app - just select new trade in customer

          • @CodeXD: looks like they made it more easier to "trade in" now
but even if you could do this

I wonder if they will still allow this next time you try again with the next samsung phone next year

            • @pinkybrain: They allowed trading in of "earbuds" one year and I got like 3 trades in just giving them my old wired earphones lying around haha that was a good trade in. They removed earbuds after lol

              • @CodeXD: so you just sent in 3 wired earphones
and did they deduct any fees (due to incorrect product sent) and sent back your 3 earphones?

I am actually curious if you can keep doing this fake trade up with the same old phone each year (and never send the phone to them each year)…

                • @pinkybrain:

so you just sent in 3 wired earphones

                  Yep

and did they deduct any fees (due to incorrect product sent) and sent back your 3 earphones?

no fees, they accepted wired earphones as 'other earbuds' for $1 and I got the $500 bonus trade in for Samsung S23 Ultra.

Also got S23 for my wife as Samsung also had trade in bonus for it

                  • @CodeXD: what will you send or trade up this year?

Also why not just not send anything (like the tip you gave to someone else)?
Is it to avoid the $30 or $60 fee?

                    • @pinkybrain:

what will you send or trade up this year?

I have old S7 I used to use for 7 eleven chopper but it doesn't work anymore and honestly I don't think I'll be able to get a phone to work for that anymore. I might select S7 edge and send in my S7 and see what they say. Best case scenario they accept it then I can get rid of the phone haha otherwise maybe if they notice it is wrong phone they will return it back to me, deduct the $10 (value of S7 edge), and not charge a fee.

Also why not just not send anything (like the tip you gave to someone else)?

If you're referring to the earphones, I am obviously not going to pay $30 fee when I can send them something I got for free (from old phone purchase) and not even using lol

                      • @CodeXD:

Best case scenario they accept it then I can get rid of the phone haha otherwise maybe if they notice it is wrong phone they will return it back to me, deduct the $10 (value of S7 edge), and not charge a fee

so its better to send in wrong product or even wrong info about said product (e.g. saying phone not crack, but send in cracked phone) to AVOID getting a fee than to not send in anything at all which would DEFINITELY get a fee?

Also I wonder if we can just keep using the same old phone (we own) each year to say we send back as trade in
                        and never send it back?

If you're referring to the earphones, I am obviously not going to pay $30 fee when I can send them something I got for free (from old phone purchase) and not even using lol

I am sure they got a shit tonne of old wire earphones hence why they removed it this year.

                        • +1

@pinkybrain: I sent back an old LG phone and they accepted (with comments that it wasn't to spec) and didn't charge a fee. They may have got the better end of the deal, but it was a phone with a dying battery anyway.

                          • @OZcheepsk8: @CodeXD @OZcheepsk8

The take away that I got from this thread is as follows:

If you do not have a broken device to trade-in:
                            1) say you are going to trade in a cheap phone
                            2) do not send anything
                            3) get charged $30 + the value of the trade-in

If you have a broken device to trade in:
                            1) say you are going to trade in any device
                            2) send your broken device
                            3) avoid the $30/$60 fee, but get charged the value of the trade-in.

                            Is that correct?

                            • @coopzr: There is nothing wrong with trading in a functional phone to not have to deal with the facebook marketplace "is this still available" bs. Just need to weigh up your time and the value you are going to get from the frustration.

If you are going to send anything in, make sure you take pictures and videos of the phone's condition from every angle and light.

  • WOW i didnt get this and i been buying from them all the time, how unfair. i need one sigh

  • +1

Anyone tried getting one of these codes from Samsung chat?

    • trying now but I don't think it will be any use

    • I tried but they have no clue lol

    • Yes and no luck, Quoting the live chat "I'm afraid the $400 trade-in vouchers are unavailable through our live chat. They are automatically sent out in random batches to the registered users for Galaxy Unpacked."

So i guess its just a luck game to see if you are picked at this point or they are staggering the email.

      • That's incorrect. I was not registered yet but got a code. I think it's just people who have switched on marketing emails?

  • $665 TRADE IN for a 256GB fold 6 when it's still for sale on their website for $2749 wtf samsung.

    • Yeah makes zero sense. So annoying lol, you buy a phone more expensive than the S24U, 6 months newer, still the S24U has a higher trade in.

      • +2

Would probably be related to what they can do with the phone after it's traded in. If nobody buys refurbished folds, then the value will be less.

    • +1

It's related to supply and demand. Fold and Flip aren't in demand as much as just their regular bar phones.
So its harder for them to move, therefore less $$$ you get.

    • First year depreciation for mobile phons are really bad especially for Android phones.

      • +1

Makes more sense to buy refurbished. My S23 Ultra 256GB refurb bought last year $949 and trade in value is $610 = 939 -610 = $329 cost. I'm probably going to wait for S26 and get S25 refurbished heh

        • Where did you buy the refurb from?

        • What is the battery like tho? Seems to be the thing that goes first.

    • -1

Just trade in and don’t send it. They will just charge you $60 device non return fee.
      OR
Trade anything cheap like earbuds etc as suggested in posts above.

Of course trade in value won’t make sense, and you are better selling off your phone somewhere else.

      • Dont think you can trade in earbuds anymore unfortunately

    • Interestingly, JB is offering $1,040 for a 256GB Fold 6. After all vouchers/bonuses are applied with Samsung pre-order, it may be a good idea to compare purchasing through JB vs Samsung.

  • +1

So what are all the vouchers/bonuses so far?

    -$200 voucher (GALAXY2025)
    -$100 voucher (purchased for $20)
-$400 bonus trade in (this deal if you recieved it)

  • +1

Asurion told me that my trade in device was not in working condition. even though i sent the phone that i was working. was quite a hassle tryna fix it and get deposit back. if ur trade in is a lot, be careful to deal with em

    • Asurion told me that my trade in device was not in working condition. even though i sent the phone that i was working. was quite a hassle tryna fix it and get deposit back. if ur trade in is a lot, be careful to deal with em

Did you take lots of photos/videos before you sent the phone back to prove it was working?

What was the phone you sent?
So did they give you back the deposit and deducted $60 fee?

It is cases like these that make people not want to send it a good working phone that is pretty recent model..

It is better to just send them some crappy broken old phone and have them deduct the fee and get our deposit back

      • Traded in S10+. $120 deposit. don't think i took any pictures
Asurion initially refunded $1 saying not in good working condition but no evidence in the portal as to why and how they determine that.
back n forth with Samsung and Asurion, complained to ACCC.
Samsung sent me $120 Visa Egift card
        Asurion refunded $120 as well.
but it was a lot of hassle trying to get them to refund. (ended up with total $241 refund)

        • but it was a lot of hassle trying to get them to refund.

Did they also deduct a $60 or $30 asurion fee?

Based on your experience and the hassle of ACCC to get back the refund

Would it better in future if you are going to do it again (possibly s25 etc),
to not send back any phone at all..
then you would get charge the Asurion fee and automatically get back your deposit (without needing to go to ACCC etc) ?

ended up with total $241 refund)

At least you ended up with a profit of $120 etc

Did the chat with Samsung support just now. below is the chat summary:

Agent: Thank you for being our loyal Samsung customer and I appreciate your interest in our offers. The email was randomly sent but no worries, I highly recommend to please chat us back on the preorder period to provide you the available voucher code.
    Q) Is it possible to get the email as like my friend now?
Agent) The email was randomly sent. At the moment we do not have the information for that. We will have various promotions during the preorder. I highly recommend to please chat us back on the preorder period to provide you the available voucher code.

    • Like every year, you will be able to get these codes from the chat after pre salemooens.

Also last year, they had these codes in the Samsung members app.

      • Am I right in understanding you can only install that app on a samsung phone? It says none of my (other brand) Androind phones can install it..

  • What is the cheapest we getting s25 for?

    -$200 voucher (GALAXY2025)
    -$100 voucher (purchased for $20)
-$400 bonus trade in (this deal if you recieved it) - Im trading in S21 5g so maybe I will get 150.

So 650 off ? Unsure how the 200 voucher works - as in can it be used for phone not accessories I don't need.

    What are we thinking? 800?

    • +1

Trade in bonus for S25 will probably be $250, similar to S24's preorder last year

      • Which S24 are you referring to? For the S24U i got $500 bonus trade in (which was the retail trade in offer) and Samsung sent me a $200 bonus code on top of the $500.

        • I am referring to the S24 base model and standard trade in bonus.

Wow so you had a bonus code for being a returning customer?

          • +1

            @Fobsessive: Last year i did.

            This year nothing so far.

Im sure the trade bonus will be pretty good again.

      • -1

        S21…

  • Does anyone know if I would be charged as soon as I place the pre-order. Don't get paid until friday and don't wanna lose the $200 voucher value

    • +2

don't wanna lose the $200 voucher value

$200 value quoted is based on a $100 eVoucher via generic voucher code that will double in value to $200 from 23rd January 2025 5:00AM AEDT until 26th January 2025 4:59AM AEDT

So you are fine to order on Friday/Saturday and still get the $200 voucher value.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck then I don't recommend buying the latest and greatest available mobile phone.

      • I just checked, and it's true. thanks

  • I'm thinking people who bought the $20 voucher are the same ones who didn't get this $400 trade-in deal.

    • Definitely not the case.

      • Yeah, I guess not… though there is indeed less incentive to give people who have bought the voucher the further $400 trade in discount given they've already made bang from selling the voucher and its value of $20, well, drastically drops regardless

        • Samsung is thinking of the larger picture (trying to get sales numbers up) rather than trying to nerf individuals who bought the $20 voucher.

          • @CodeXD: Meh, I don't trust Samsung to make good judgments about sales targeting when they put Mr Beast on.

    • Got a feeling they are targeting "less loyal customers" to up their sales…. rather than rewarding loyal customers…..

      • Tale as old as time

      • Haven't bought anything from them since the S21 and still not trade in code.

    • I haven't bought a $20 voucher and still haven't received any trade in code.

  • -2

    Samsung S25 is coming….

  • +1

I got the code last week. I have also bouught the $20 voucher.
But I am a bit puzzled; is this bonus on top of what they are offering for everyone for pre-orders (including trade-in bonus)? Or that's the only bonus for trade-in? what about the people who don't receive a code? This will hurt their sales significany if only people with code can take advantage of the trade-in bonus…

    • +2

this, im confused too. and been loyal many preorders in past I still never got it.

      • +1

Same…hopefully we can ask live chat on the day, as some commenters have said. Otherwise, will be super disappointing!!

        • i already spoke to live chat and have few others, they are clueless and suggesting other codes

          • @Rukiata: Yes, I pestered online chat people twice in the past week and they say they don't have any loyalty codes to share. They better drop a code for everyone on the day or the entire deal is untenable, their phones are too expensive without it.

  • +1

I think I will just wait for the S26 Ultra until hopefully Samsung get their inentions on what sort of deal, price, marketing and screwing around to screw people over with their deal, or whatever deal that is trying to morph into. (or so it seems)

  • -1

Can someone explain me about Jotform. Is it a separate promotion and is better to wait?

    • +1

If you're seeking help from someone, it is best to keep it clear and concise what you are asking.

  • Link now live, have not tested checking out.

    https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-s25/buy/

Went on to live chat and asked if there was any exclusive offers they can offer.
They gave me a code for $400 bonus trade in for the 512gb variant, not sure if works for all models potentially, and also another code for extra $200 off the 1tb variant this is separate to trade in

    • how? how did you ask for it

      • Just via live chat, just said if there was any special offer or promo codes available for the new galaxy s25 ultra.

        • lol, i just opened up live chat to try myself, 550 people ahead of me in the queue

  • +3

    Westpac prices

    S25U 256GB/512GB/1TB $1719.20/1879.29/2199.20

    S25+ 256GB/512GB $1359.20/1519.20

    S25 256GB/512GB $1119.20/1279.20

S25U has $150 trade in bonus
    S25/+ has $100

  • with westpac prices, can we stack all the other offers? eg $400 tradein, $200 bonus and $100 from $20 voucher?

    • yes

      • On Samsung website, there is only one deal using Westpac card thru Samsung Pay

        GET 20% OFF
Get 20% off selected Samsung products when you make 3 eligible purchases on a Westpac card in Samsung Pay.

        Valid from Jun 24. 2021 ~ Jul 08. 2021

Is it the one? If so, it expired long time ago?

        • +1

No you access it via westpac rewards > discounts on the westpac app or westpac website

          • @ozchobie: Is that targeted? Or only available to CC?

            • @Love a bargain: Nah I only have a Westpac choice account with them

              • @ozchobie: Must be targeted then. I've only got AGL, CIRCLES.LIVE, Pandora, Oricom & Swarovski.

                • @Love a bargain: Did you then select the "discounts and extras" tab? Only asking because mine has like 27 offers, and I use the account for nothing.

      • +2

Confirmed works, westpac 15% + $400 trade in bonus + $200 voucher accessories + $100 evoucher ($20 spent) + value of traded phone

        • westpac 15%

          20%* :)

  • Can't cancel accessories anymore. Samsung changed the logic on the website, so when you try to select cancel a accessory it highlights the phone too.

    • did you try calling them after placing the order to cancel the accessories?

    • -1

keep us posted if you tried customer care for accessories cancellation. I have yet to finalise my order ><

      • +1

Update: I was able to cancel my buds 3 in my order by myself via the shop app. I did have other accessories like sp and case. Others are having issues cancelling if it was only the buds included along with the phone in the order.

  • +4

Got the 400 trade in bonus via chat. Pro tip - to skip the queue go to the Shop App, Go to chat > Order > Vouchers > Pre order support

  • +1

Update - the code is in the members app. lol

  • +5

I got a $400 code from Samsung member app.

From home screen - click on "members exclusive pre-order & unlock up to $400 off in bonus"

then click "here" to access your benefits section

I can then view and download the voucher

    • Thanks.

What is the normal trade-in bonus without exclusive code?

      • It is whatever it shows on the samsung s25 ultra pre-order website…?
