Just ordered another S25U 512Gig today, I was able to use all the same codes, came to $1299 with Earbuds Pro's and a free clear Earbuds case, used the $1 trade in trick, also messaged samsung chat and they gave me another code and I used a spare $20 ($100 vouchure), I said to samsung in the chat i paid $100 cheaper for the other order and they said they would refund the $100 difference when the second phone arrived, gave me a reference number to claim the $100 difference. pretty impressed, Came to $1199 in the end with the earbuds pros and a free clear case. Will have to pay the $30+$1 non return fee for the samsung 4 watch "i'm trading in". I just typed a random number in the serial number field and it accepted it.

I'm not so sure on either count, if you break the terms of the promotion why can't they deny you that portion of the refund? And $200 for 5 minutes of overseas labour is very much worthwhile.

Creat an account on auspost and add your details like address, phone number etc. It will link to deliveries using the same details. Download and log into the app.

As the tracking shows that my order was picked up at midday but samsung order status changed at 10pm.

I got tracking today but tracking history says it was first scanned in Sydney sorting facility on Monday (3rd Feb) at 9:20 AM.
May be it's intentionally done at the request of Samsung to start sending notifications on 5th (today) and get them delivered on 6th Feb.
Likely a embargoed shipment. Startrack allows for those where the shipper tells them 'do not deliver before 6th Feb' and startrack will work it out when to process it through the shipping network so it gets delivered on or after the date.
Last year i saw that note on my s24+ shipping label but obviously they didnt bother with following the embargo note and delivered it 1.5week earlier than release date.

Anyway I looked more into auspost app and it gave me a tracking Id starting with EFJZ this is a Samsung tracking number and I haven't even got a email to say it's sending or being dispatched even the app for Samsung store still says the same. But auspost saying item will be delivered tomorrow the 6th and it's now at Sydney sorting facility.
So I really do believe it's coming tomorrow good luck everyone!

not sure if I am alone in this, but I think titanium on S24U feels better than the one on S25U. sides are rounded slightly on S24U, and have a bit of soft feel to them. while S25U is slightly sharper, display corners are rounded, and it's almost too smooth

S25 ultra Jade Green. Ordered on 1st day of pre order.Just received my Ultra 512gb Titanium with Anti Reflection. I managed to cancel the BudPro3 not long after placing the order and the delivery indeed did not include that BudPro3.
There is no paper tax invoice inside but the online version (the one you accessed via Samsung Online) does have an option to download Tax Invoice and it DOES have BudPro3 included in the Tax Invoice. However, the order summary does NOT include the BudPro3, showing the updated lower total price.
The challenge is now to contact Samsung to request for the money refund. Ozkeepskat8 above did say, refund usually happens within a week. The problem is my tax invoice is not reflecting the lower price but the order summary and the actual delivery do. I might have to contact Samsung directly lest they will think all is settled.
You ll get the refund automatically once the order is marked as completed din the backend. Nothing to stress. Did this last year.

If "it DOES have BudPro3 included in the Tax Invoice", then they may send the buds later if your online order does not show that it is cancelled. When I ordered my last new phone, the accessaries did not come in the same package as the phone.
For the S25 Ultra that I just received, my tax invoice does show that the buds were cancelled (it did as soon as I cancelled it online). I have received the new phone this morning and also a refund email that the refund has been sent to my bank.
The online order DOES show it was cancelled. I took a screenshot of it. The Tax Invoice is not.
But thanks for confirming there is a refund email forthcoming. To me, this is the important part.

Then wait for the order to move to awaiting dispatch, cancel button then has option to cancel to accessories.
Anything prior to that will show cancellation of the whole order
Just tried my buds3 pro and I'm pretty happy with them Fits well in my wireless-earbuds-don't-like-to-stay-in-my-ear ears and ANC seems pretty good from what I can tell so far. Seems to block out voices extremely well but I can hear myself typing on logitech mx keys. Sound is decent as well. Still trying to find an eq i like.
If there's no connection issues in the city, I'm going to return my Sony Linkbuds S and keep these.
I have the same issue, especially with my left ear. The ONLY buds that fit in my ears are my Buds+ (because of the wing), which are showing their age.
I have buds 2 and buds 2 pro for motorbike riding and they both fall out of the ear regardless what size thingy I use or how hard I shove them in there.

Is there a samsung experience store near you? I went to one and they had a dummy buds3 pro i could try for the fit…they use a hand sanitiser to disinfect it…the price of trying on the buds3 pro caused some kind of irritation/itchiness inside my ear which is finally healing after like 2wks π

Try going to a samsung experience store with your helmet and see if they have dummy buds3 you can try with your helmet on. Obviously wouldn't be able to tell how the sound is but at least you can get a feel for the fit.
I saw someone online that someone said only airpods (the non pro) worked for them and the buds3 felt almost the same and fit. Read that and decided to try to buy a buds3 as well.
@thedean: Only one annoying thing i'm noticing is the pause/resume music when removing/wearing the buds is a bit fiddly. Resuming music plays up a bit with spotify. …Also the triangular stem is a bit more fiddly to put the buds back into the case. I can see myself dropping them when outside

Received the phone and started a return on three of the accessories. Is there any chance that Samsung could charge me the $200 voucher amount for GALAXY2025? I don't think so, right?
Why would they charge you when they can just take it out of your refund?
As in, the $200 worth of accessories were essentially free when using the voucher, reducing the price of the overall bill by $200. If I return $100 worth of accessories, would they refund me that amount, or would that make the use of the voucher null and void?
It is pretty clear that Samsung has caught onto this trick and obviously started blocking it. So it wouldn't surprise me if they decide to subtract returned accessories from the coupon first before refunding the surplus. But hard to say if they will do it this year or not.
No point asking Samsung as they will just say the latter "we will do it", when they probably don't know what corporate will do. As this has been a developing situation.

I opted for the flipsuit case. It has a clear option if you want it. Real good quality I love it.

They call it flipsuit but essentially it is a bumper case with replaceable nfc enabled backing plate so you can buy new back plates to put on.
nah it's just the style of the case. there's flipsuit case for S25U. fils nicely and good quality, has two backs: clear and artwork. and you can get diff artworks later on
with the clear back it's like a clear case almost, just more sturdy. default artwork is quite cool too

Yep, sorry, the buds and case. Reason stated was that I believe the clear case to be pretty average build quality and that I've decided to use my Buds FE for a little longer.
It was rejected because they are part of a package deal/promotion.

After a few hours, no longer feeling warm. Possibly lots of background optimisations and updates running initially.

usually the cases have holes for the charging port and s pen and sim tray, but in this one, there are lips to hold the phone on bottom left and right and open in the middle. I can take the phone in and out of the case with the charging cable still attached. hope that make sense

flipsuit pne is the next best thing, it comes with a clear back. I decided to give it a go this year, and it works nicely with grey colour
so far very happy with the phone. I wish Samsung would optimise smart switch as it's not possible to migrate across secure folder unless you half ass set up new phone first, create a secure folder there, and then run smart switch and secure folder will be an option
or I guess in retrospect one could run smart switch off the bat, skip secure folder, then create one on the new phone and run it again selecting just the secure folder in the apps section. will try that next time
Does smart switch copy over your logins or only your apps, easy e.g. do I have to login to Facebook again or is it done?
some apps will move across completely in their state, but things like Facebook Instagram various Messengers you'll have to log in again
if you have Samsung Pass on the old phone, and you've been saging logins in it, it will carry over to the new phone and you'll easily log back in again. I had issues tho restoring Samsung Pass it wanted old phone pin to decrypt things, and I provided that but it was always saying "wrong pin". I worked around by changing pin on my old phone, and then used new pin in the decryption, that worked. glitch I guess

No luck trying to return the watch. The funny thing is I actually wanted to return it to buy a Galaxy Watch 7 (rather then the FE which i originally ordered) but online agent advised that since the GALAXY2025 code was used, i would have to return the whole order.

Where it says complete? All 6 steps completed and the last one is 'delivered'.
Under my account it shows as "Delivered" (Buds3 pro shows as "Cancelled") and got an email with the subject "Your order is completed: Thank you for choosing us!"

My case has just got shipped, the phone was delivered yesterday.Received the Samsung rugged case today.
It increases the size of the device very little - not bulky at all. Buttons are still easy to press. Protection looks OK - the edge around the screen is quite high - around 4mm, but the one around the three main cameras is only ~2mm high - I would prefer if it was more significant.
From ergonomics perspective, it feels plasticky and a little slippery, also the edges are a little sharp to my liking. Maybe I'll get used to it
Overall, I like Spigen Rugged Armor on my old S21 much better :-\ Will see, maybe will get another Spigen case later.

Phone delivered this afternoon. Samsung website shows "on the way". Trying to return earbuds, whilst i seem to be able to individually tick the items, the final hurdle of 'initiate return' is greyed out. Seems random as well playing around with which items to tick to return as sometimes it ticks the phone as well, sometimes it doesnt. Buggy as hell…. but hey thats Samsung and one of the reasons as well why we all can end up stacking coupons. Anyone with other ideas?

I only concern about what they put in the line when not returning, Samsung might take away the bonus credit if go down that path. The exact line reads:
You have 7 days to return your device to Asurion once you receive your new eligible Galaxy device. If you do not return your device within 14 days, you will be automatically charged a Late Return Fee of up to $60, which is non-refundable. The Security Charge will be held until your device is received and graded. Samsung may also charge you for any additional bonus credit applied to your order.
I reckon it is a give and take, Samsung reserves the right to do so.

Bit of positive news. My order that was originally set for delivery by the 7th but was then updated to the 11th has now been shipped and estimated to be delivered on he 7th again. S25 ultra Jet black 256gb, buds pro, case and film. Hopefully it comes today and other people that's had theirs delayed get a nice surprise.

Probably you will have to let them know that you are not sending in, so you don't get slugged with $60 late non-return fee.

I have done it with Assurant NZ in New Zealand. The Samsung NZ or Assurant never charges a security fee and have sent phones back to them twice with no issues. Once i did a Tradein here, i mean Australia, i read Asurion feedback and decided not to send the phone back, either keep it or sell it on Facebook marketplace. now I have sold the phone and not planning to send anything back. Is it good to cancel now or wait for the time out after 60$ late fee is charged. This is my first time doing tradein in Australia.
@Emenent7426: I've had Asurion claim the security charge for the S23 I've put with my Trade In. I recieved the phone yesterday, but I am thinking that one of my parents may need the phone as a replacement for one of their older devices.

@burgo101: Just ignore Asurion email. They will debit $60 from your card eventually after few days/weeks. The security charge will not be refunded, so technically your new phone is a bit more expensive than the tax invoice you received.
@double_J: And the tradeID cancellation date is 5th March 2025. So technically I am free from trade after 5th march 2025.

I think you should try with another staff (chat or phone) because if you have already received confirmation of the cancellation, they cannot just unilaterally turn around and say you won't get any money back. It's a legal document.
Someone received their refund just 3 hours after their phone was delivered, but I still haven't gotten mine after 19 hours.

Those who are saying they got their refund are not lying. They cancelled the buds after purchasing and got the refund after the phone was delivered. Its different than returning the accessories after receiving them.

@watupman: As I said in my post, I cancelled Buds in the app before they closed the loophole on 24 Jan. I never specifically followed up the refund (after reading stories here about the different stories given by different agents). I just waited for Samsung process to auto complete (again as others have advised here) and refund magically arrived - even earlier than I expected.
I was also prepared to cop the loss of the refund and/or Buds considering we were all gamin the system and taking a gamble.
Hope it works out for you others as well.

I've been advised to wait for 48 hours so I guess I am calling them on Monday. The reason is I was paying the phone using Afterpay so if I leave it too long, I might have ended up paying them all before I get the chance to talk to them about refund!!! It's already 2 out of 4 instalment being paid.

@thedean: This is a fake copy and it's not from Samsung. Look at the stickers on the side of the box which are different to the original one, and also the original comes without the wrapping plastic layer. Last year like these days, the asking price on fb marketplace for a fake Buds2 pro was $50.

Got my Jet Black 512Gb Ultra with Pro Buds & Clear Magnetic Case yesterday morning. Added the ESR screen protector immediately after peeling off the black protector from Samsung avoiding the extra cleaning step and finger print re-registration. Easy peasy. The only pain is having to go through all the apps that need reconfiguring as the app data doesn't get transferred.
how's the screen protector? fingerprint reader working fine with it?

It's a full screen protector, with 0 cutouts for the camera.
I've had the most success with them especially with cases, fits with almost a less than 0.5mm gap (cant stick my finger nail between it) between the Spigen case + glass protector.I've found the other brands on amazon to be a hit and miss, either too small and a larger gap for dust to settle, or interferes with case (causes lifting when pressing hard on case sides)
No issues if you register prints after applying otherwise from what I've read you need to reregister prints if you done it beforehand.

Samsung: Upon checking on my end, the cancellation status on your order is still pending. Just to set expectations, the cancellation may not push through as our system is not allowing partial cancellations on our Paradigm promotion.
I asked her what that means and I was told to "send the buds back" but when I told her I never got them as they were cancelled I was then told to wait 3-5 business days and I "should" be refunded.

The questions are (1) On your online summary, did it show the buds already cancelled? Mine is; (2) Does the tax invoice reflect the online summary total? This is because my online summary (and the delivery email) did show the reduced amount but the tax invoice is still showing full amount with the buds; and (3) Did you receive the cancellation confirmation email? If you did, then basically it is done deal and they should issue the refund.
The primary issue is the fact that the amount you paid is > than the updated online summary total.
Yep. Took about 3 days after I did it, but the Buds showed up as "cancelled" on the order and the total price paid was updated to reflect the correct total of what was left on the order.
So yeah - All invoices and orders match what I go, just not the ol credit card..

With all the issues on refunds and such, I think this is the last we see of the good ol accessories cancelation after order made for next year… It was a good ride..
Especially with the snowflakes getting all upset about it and saying they'll report Samsung. It's clearly a bug that the accessories discount comes off the Phone and not the accessories, moving forward Samsung will definitely fix it given how much pressure people are putting on CSA's.

Was on "Awaiting Dispatch" and "Ships from 06 Feb" till yesterday morning when I got email from Samsung saying it will ship from 11/02 and the status in the app changed accordingly.
However, yesterday arvo status changed to "On the way" and "Get it by 07 Feb". Also got "Label created by sender" in AusPost app. No movement since, but hopefully will get it today/tomorrow or Monday here in Sydney Metro.

If you watch the Samsung video they give the QR code for in the box, it tells you that you will get a slight middle line which will disappear within 24h.
Mine disappeared within about an hour when I put it on yesterday.

I had the same issue when I installed the first screen protector. I thought I'd messed it up, so I removed it and installed the second one. I still had the same line in the middle of the screen. It was quite annoying, but since I had no more spares, I just left it as it was. Fortunately, the line had disappeared this morning. I wish Samsung would include a note about this issue in the instructions.

I'm half happy my order says Ships 20 Feb. Seems like everyone here can suss how to deal with all the returns. Although I'm not 100% sure if I will return anything, though I am leaning towards returning my protective film and clear magnetic case and getting something different/better from ebay/amazon. Supposedly they don't charge you for not returning the trade in device since they updated the T&Cs in July 2024. There's been a lot of discussion in here but I don't know who's right.
When I didn't return the device 3 years ago, they did charge me $60.

@pyramid: I assume their return process is similar to other companies, where once they approve your return request, they provide a set timeframe for you to send the item back. If the item isnβt returned within that period, the return request is automatically canceled.

What gives the impression they have the right?
First, you are not bounded by what's written on the website but the terms and conditions. Second, if there are any discrepancies between what's on the website and terms and conditions, it's the terms and conditions that should be followed. Remember, when you checkout, there was something saying that you agree to the terms and conditions but it did not state that you agree to something written in another samsung webpage. And what you quote include "up to $60", it doesn't mean automatically it is $60, the contracting parties should then refer to the terms and conditions to see whether the conditions are met for the late return fee to be charged.

usually ozb's try to do very low device value like $1-$10 if they don't intend to send the device so that non-return fee (also referred to as late return fee in some emails) is $30.
@snorkey: I read that some people suggested picking the lowest value device, this year it is $10 and last year was $5. That's because the lower this trade-in amount, the higher the 5% app discount will be. And some people even trade-in non-exist device with IMEI generator.
@vchung916: kinda easy to lower the value of any device at the stage where they ask about the device condition if one wants to forcefully reduce it.

Honestly it shows how small of a community OzB is that Samsung has ignored this for as long as they have. I guess based on half these comments we are counting down the days on trade-in bonus without a valid trade in.As a software dev, it really only needs a few more API calls and a couple T&C changes to hold the trade-in bonus on the card as well as the device fee to avoid people taking advantage. If people start contacting lawyers it will be cheaper to spend the development time on that than deal with this again.

Can someone share thoughts on how they are initiating the returns ? Is it from "Orders" page or somewhere else ? On "Orders" page I see status as "Delivered" for mobile, watch and case. But don't see option to initate return. Not even for phone or for whole order return as well.

How come. I ordered the watch thinking it's a good deal for 7 series and I wanted to keep it. But later on came to know about all the battery draining issues on specific model. The product is promoted which is not working well. Why can't one return it.
well you should be able to return it by itself if it's not part of a bundled order where GALAXY2025 was used. Else, they are requesting for the whole bundle to be returned.

For me & many others, that self service section doesn't show option to initiate the return.
How can you know it has a product issue if you haven't even opened or used it?
Was bought as a bundle so based on comments of people who got responses, you'll either have to send it back as a bundle with phone or they can deduct the galaxy2025 code from refund.
I just check EPP quota is now limited to 3 devices in every category. It was more before.
Is anyone noticing any unusual battery depletion in the base S25 models since released? I did Smart Switch, and I'm noticing it seems to be depleting quicker than my s23- I may be overthinking it, but perhaps its early days with it learning battery usage?

I checked reviews before I placed the order. Biggest difference was that Buds 3 pro have the tips making it easier for the earbuds to stay in your ear.
I still use my buds2 for the gym and they sometimes do fall out so i opted for the tips as an upgrade

For those claiming TRS, do I need to request a specific invoice from Samsung, or will the one they initially provided be sufficient? Also, at the TRS office, do I need to present the item, and does it have to be sealed or in its original packaging? I haven't claimed TRS in a while, so just want to clarify. Thanks!

You need to be able to show the item. If the invoice $$$ is over $1000 then it must have your passport name on it. So if you have first middle and last name then receipt needs all of it.

This is sufficient. It's a simple process but make sure you prepare enough time in case it has a queue for claiming TRS.
You will need to install Australia TRS app in which you will insert details of claim related to invoice and it will then generate QR code which they will scan at the counter while claiming at airport.
What if you also made a return (the buds). I assume you would make the claim on the phone alone and not the total invoice? Am I correct?

pre entered everything on their site, there was a tiny queue at melbs AP, took 1 minute to get all done. claimed the phone and the case (buds were already sold).

Has anyone had success delaying the scheduled delivery? The delivery date and trade in due date are going to be a bit of a headache, and ideally I'd get Samsung to hold dispatch of the order for another 10 days.
Chat support couldn't do it, and Asurion wasn't helpful extending the trade in due date either (to avoid the late fee).
You can avoid / miss the delivery and it will then be taken to a nearby Australia Post Office, and you will then have 10 days to collect the package from them. It wonβt be marked delivered until you collect it.

I've just noticed that the tracking number shown on Samsung web order status (#…18) doesn't match StarTrack's (#…19). Hence when I pressed on Track Item button, Samsung shows only "5 Feb shipping info received by Australia Post". Is this normal?

You can send them a rock. It'll be considered In-eligible device. They'll charge the in eligible device fee, which is equal to the security charge. And the best part is that according to 7.2 (a) (iv), they need to return Your In-eligible Device to You. A pretty good way to stop Asurion from wrongly charging late return fee for non return.

With the reported and youtubed bad reviews of the clear case - (doesn't raise above camera lens, and open front bottom with no protection) do you think there is an option to return them as not fit for purpose?? Not change of mind, but crap protection. I did use the Galaxy2025 coupon worth $100 and ordered a power adaptor too. I ordered 2x phones, so 2x clear cases.

Fit for purpose needs to match the description of when they sold you the case. Which in the description it mentions about style, but nothing about being drop tested, or protection.
Therefore according to what they advertised then it doesn't actually fall within "not fit for purpose"
Case is slightly above the camera lens otherwise you end up with a bulkly case. The only issue i have is may be the grip. Slippery smooth.
I ordered the clear case and then also ordered the clear magnetic case as a separate order. I didn't bother opening the magnetic one after i saw how rubbish the regulare clear case was, and I've now opened a return request.
If i decide to go down the magnetic case path I'll buy something nicer.

For those of you interested with updates regarding the return of accessories in order to obtain a refund, I have some update today
I ordered the S25U with 2 accessories which one of them was the BudPro3. Managed to cancel that immediately after the order which resulted in the Order Summary being updated to show the BudPro3 was cancelled and I received the cancellation confirmation.
Received the phone on 6/2/2025 along with 1 accessory so the BudPro3 was never delivered. In fact, the "Your Item is On the Way" email did not show they would be delivering the BudPro3 so all was good.
Unlike many of you lucky ones, I did not receive an email about the refund. So I chatted with them where they said to wait for 2 business days. As of 07/02/2025, the Online Summary status has changed from "Shipped" to "Delivered".
Today I chatted with them again and they investigated my order. Turned out my order was still showing as "Shipped" at their end (despite at my end, it showed "Delivered"). So that is the reason why they haven't processed the refund. It has not updated the status as yet. It also explained why I haven't received any Asurion email about returning my traded-in phone as yet (normally they are very quick at this).
So another 5-7 days said the man.
I'm curious about that as well- I've had the new device for nearly 5 days at this time; yet no email from Asurion about returning the device. Should I wait until I hear from them?

I think it goes something like this. The theory is supported in above comments as well.
Until their system flagged the delivery as complete, they won't trigger the Asurion's email. And because the delivery hasn't been updated, there is no cause for them to provide refund as yet. A few people did mention above that refunds do trigger a few days after delivery and we should just be patient about it.
This situation does support the theory. As soon as I heard the guy said, "It's still showing as 'shipped' on our end", I knew straight way why Asurion hasn't sent me that email yet and also why they haven't refunded me as yet. So I was happy to wait a bit further.

Remember battery usage will be bad for all new devices on the first few days / week. All newly installed apps are awake, the phone is learning usage patterns, and people use new phones more.
For me, I am about 4-5 hours screen on time a day and I am getting 35%ish left at bed time. It's the best battery life i've had on a phone ever.@burgo101: It's usually like that for a couple of days while it learns your usage i think. I upgraded from a base s23 to base s25 and battery seems to be an improvement. Got 6hrs 13min sot (battery at 44%) on the second day of using my s25. This was with ~7hrs spotify playing on the background with bluetooth on. Although i tend to keep my screen pretty dark but I was using about google maps with brightness up to a max for ~1.5hrs.
@burgo101: this is very normal. I've upgraded multiple times since the S21 and each time its done this for first few days. after a week you will see the improvement.
Samsung just called and advised that they can't refund the accessories that I tried to return. I guess they closed the loop this year.

I sought assistance with our back office for returns, we're unable to process your request for the return of the buds itself given that this is bundled with a promotion. If you return the buds, the whole order needs to be returned too.

They way i see it, if you are sending in something different to what you traded it, all that means is that you sent them in something that isnt related to your trade in and your actual trade in will still be late or non return so should still get charged late return. Thats how it should be imo.

My understanding when you see get by, that should be pretty accurate. Mine still showing as ships from. When you see an imei being assigned or cancel button being greyed out, that should mean you have been assigned a phone

you wont get charged the fee - but they will probably blacklist your account/email. Let us know how it goes
Not sending the device and coping up the fee is fine as its within the Tβs and Cβs, but donβt risk your credit just to save $30/60 by using a payment method that wonβt work when they try to charge you the device non-return fee.

I run accubattery on both my S21U and S25U and I can see in data that my screen in and screen off time is vastly improved. If you are just going off your anecdotal experience perhaps download some battery apps on both phones and compare properly.Did you use smart switch to transfer everything over? If there was a rouge app then it might have been transferred from your S23U.
I've never used an ultra but i think one of my older Samsung phones (S8?) was in the battery learning/ optimisation for about a week. Might be the case for you as well. Also, try keeping track of your actual sot through settings > battery > select since last charge on the dropdown list > tap anywhere around the graph. You can see what apps are consuming battery, your sot etc. if you select each app individually, it'll show the sot, background etc usage of each app.

Very important to watch the video. 90% of what it showed did work on me. The other 10% was the part where it said to pull the cover half back and the adhesive would unpeel by itself, yeah, that one took me a little bit creativity to make it unpeel by itself.
Asurion approved my trade in for full amount. Has some minor dints but no issue.

Iβm curious about this as well. My black S24 has a few small paint chips, which others have also reported with this colour. Some of the matte finish on the glass has worn off, revealing the glossy surface underneath. Iβm considering visiting another store (MobileGuru), as they might be more flexible or accommodating.

Sounds like upper management said no more refunds to take advantage of voucher loophole and the staff left to sort out that mess. Cancellation rate was probably too high and got escalated internally
I was told that was a "glitch" in their system, so they have 2 options either refund or send out the accessory.
I mean the discount coming off the phone literally is a system bug so it's not wrong.
I suspect they can't apply multi-buy orders to specific items (e.g. specific pick-list of items to qualify, the discount, discount can be greater than single qualifying items, such as buying $200 of cases).
So they take it off the phone to avoid negatives.Complicated to fix that to be honest, I've had the same problem in a work related thing.

If you really want to ship the device proactively, login in the trade-in portal manually override this and confirm you have received the device.
