You need to add $200 worth of ecosystem products like cases, buds, or the watch, alongside the S25 ultra, for the voucher to apply. It doesn't apply on the S25 Ultra directly

There isn't much new with the S25. It's just the processor lol. No 200 MP front camera, no new screen, no 16 TB Ultra variant, no faster charging, and dubious claims of 30-hour battery life.
Degraded s-pen. They removed bluetooth from it.
Got a new non bluetooth s-pen for the fold 6 and it works the same as one with bluetooth with the new tech. Wouldnt place too much importance on that.
@Fooah: At the very least it's confirmed that you can no longer use the S Pen button to capture a photo, which is all I used it for. So pass for me.

Nothing wrong with that. We're at a point now where skipping a generation doesn't come with the same performance cost it once did. Even the S21 is still holding up okay with Android 15, & I would still be rocking a Note 20 Ultra if it wasn't for the refusal of Samsung to let it have the same update.
I am considering upgrading from my Pixel 9 Pro XL, even though it's only 6 months old. I miss the stylus & square corners of the Samsung screen, not to mention some weird Pixel quirks like charging getting locked to 460mAh and the navigation buttons becoming unresponsive until the device is rebooted.
Here's hoping for a decent deal on the S25 Ultra.
I'm really up in the air whether to upgrade from s21, it's still a very solid phone and the battery holds up well. Most days i have 30 to 40% when i get home from work unless it's a slow day at work and I'm on my phone all day.
Unless you're starting to have hardware misbehaving issues or Samsung has stopped providing the security updates, which continue for a few years after Samsung takes your model line off the Android upgrade list, so long as you're okay with some apps potentially becoming incompatible there's no need to upgrade.
otoh you may want to upgrade for any one of a half dozen perfectly valid reasons. For example, you might have the Exynos version and would prefer a Snapdragon.

@3fornothing: Because I don't intend to actually trade in a device. It's a well known hack for years where you report the device as broken and trade in value drops to $1. You then proceed to placing the order and never trade it in.

Why is the education store asking for Employee email after logging in with an .edu ?
Just enter your email again and it'll send you an "activation email" to sign in to the edu store. I had to do it as well it's just one extra step, probably because I haven't signed in to the edu store for a while.

@confidantduk: just transfer in and out money automatically every month to and from your main bank to avoid the fees. You can schedule this so you can just leave it. you don't have to keep the money there.

Apparently you can during the pre-order stage, before shipment once order is confirmed. Many have mentioned to have done this on the comments on last year's one.

I just worked out - in your samsung store app, go to 'Shop', scroll down to the bottom, and there was an option "Select Store" where I could pick the education store.
so turns out I didnt know this, but if you go into the shop app and under accounts if you scroll to the bottom you can change the store… so I could have gotten 5% off my first order… oh well next year for my wifes phone I will do that

The IMEI steps etc will come up once you actually click checkout, it will send you to Azurion to do the trade-in, give you a code once its all completed then you input that code back into the Samsung store checkout to complete your order
so you dont actually pay until after going to Asurion and then come back to Samsung.

As DealHuntersXD said. You will lose your security deposit (which is the trade value amount) PLUS $60 which they will charge against your card.
To circumvent, use a Prepaid Mastercard which covers the security deposit ($1?) but not the $60 BUT I don't know if they then blacklist you afterwards.
@burningrage: Haven't been blacklisted. Tried it while purchasing S24U last year. Was charged $60 no-return fee + the trade in discount of $30 for a watch that I had selected which I did not trade in later.
@alz: Yes they will take a "security charge" of the trade in amount, also in the FAQ, they said that they may charge a non return fee of $60. They will return the security charge once they receive the returned device.

I tried doing TRS recently on a phone and at the airport they advised that they would charge the GST back when I came back into the country with the phone for a net $0 result so I didn't go ahead. Said only worries if the phone doesn't come back into Australia. Did they give me bad advice?
They would "in theory" charge back GST if you bring back duty free values worth $900 or more which this phone would fall into.
However, if you travel with more than 1 person (say 2 person), then the duty free values would be combined (meaning $1,800) and in that case, you will be fine.
In reality, it really depends on what you wrote in the Incoming Passenger declaration card. I had claimed GST on a phone and when I returned, I only declared that I have brought in goods above $900 duty free and they asked me how much, I said $1,050 and they let me go. Even if they didn't, I returned with 4 other travellers so we would have been fine.

I didn't. EPP (Government) requires a specific website entry screen so I don't think (or didn't think at least), my Samsung App would work.

No. The idea is to wait for Confirmation Email to be sent (at the moment, the order is being accepted. Not accepted yet) which should be by tomorrow and then I would attempt a bud specific cancellation via chat citing change of mind.
even if that doesnt work… there is a blanket 14 days return policy for all Samsung products.

Too many different ways to get to the codes so i guess some of them have restrictions as to which portals they can be used in.ERP code for trade in worked in EDU

They charge your card $500 (or value estimated for trade-in) refundable security deposit until you send the device within 14 days after the new device received. If you don't send, both security deposit and non-refundable 'Late Return Fee' up to $60 will be charged. In addition that, this time they've mentioned about the bonus credit as well. So it's a huge risk to take I guess.

Reading all the comments and was surprised to see no one trying the $50 discount code for signing up to their e-newsletter as well as requesting a $100 loyalty voucher from chat directly (which was the norm in previous years) and stacking on top of all the other advertised discounts. For me the S25 ultra isnt a big enough jump over ths S24 Ultra that I have so will skip but recommend others to try the newsletter and additional loyalty discount through live chat
There is also the 5% discount for shopping via the app for the first time.
The $50 for signing up to newsletter is not popping up for me though.

For anyone not going to send the trade in phone back, you can just choose "cracked screen" in the condition to bring the trade in value down to $5 or $1. The non-return fee will be reduced to $30 instead of $60.

It automatically applied for me via EPP website, no action needed. "Welcome to Samsung, here's 5% off your first purchase"

@Mortin: You might need to clear the cart and re-add them from the app. If your current shopping cart is synced from the web store, it wont add the 5% discount.

EDU portal (would have been same on Westpac Rewards portal I think) - Note for purposes of the 5% discount, it appears that all the vouchers (including the GALAXY2025 accessories one) are applied to the phone price and the 5% is taken off that, and this is not explicitly listed as a 5% discount on your order summary.
I paid:: $612.37 + $20 (for the $100 voucher) = $632.37

How do I use EPP account on the app? Logged in using same email but prices (non EPP?) are different than browser.
It's 2 different things I think::
- EDU on the App (I used my old uni email…) - on the shop page scroll to the bottom and pick "Select Store"
- Westpac rewards (or EPP) I just used on the browser.

About to test code stacking for EDU/EPP stores, I have got a $400 trade-in bonus, $200 extra on 1TB variant + a $20 voucher. General store and EDU website are both not working as intended, $20 is giving me only a 20 discount instead of $100.
