Didnt make a good deal with a 4050 at 40 bucks cheaper, wont make it here.

Would wholeheartedly suggest OP and those looking for a all round budget rig to this LOQ deal that even without cashback is still a solid discount and a better one over this.

    As per last time:

This is a pretty bad offering from HP, theres two victus, the victus 15 and 16, the 15 is worse than the 16 by a large margin and are completely different machines despite the name.

Take a look at this disassembly shot, this kind of cooling/heatpipe setup isnt really gaming laptop level in 2024. Grand total of two shared heatpipes going from cpu then to gpu then to that single exhaust and two fans wont help that much. 15.6' and a single ssd slot, this is near msi cyborg/thin levels of shoddiness, only saving grace is gpu tdp is 75w (50+25w)so its not that bad compared to the latter.

This is the victus 16's disassmbly shot by the way.

And here are those of LOQ 15 and TUF A15.

You are paying the price somewhere, never think for a second that they arent cutting you down esp in these budget machines.

The RRP is a joke, even a couple of years ago when it was new

    Not seeing the deal here

  • Wouldn't you be better off with a 7840H/8845H?

  • worse than the Gerry Harvey deal from two years ago, Victus with RTX3060 for under $1,100

  • 2050 for $1k in 2024…

RTX 4050 Victus is cheaper than this on HP ebay store rn

    • Saw this today. But apparently its only 250 nits screen. Is that a big problem? In the context of the other good things about it?

      • It's on the dimmer side, 300 minimum is a good baseline, but you get what you pay for I suppose.

      • I just got one of these used on fb market place with a 4060 and a 13700h CPU, the other day, with this screen - honestly the colour reproduction and brightness is pretty terrible.

I'm primarily going to have it hooked up to a TV or a Quest 3, so that isn't going to be an issue for me but if it is for you, just be aware that this is a pretty bad screen.

    This is a horrendous deal.

When we all think 3050 refused to die, 2050 is even tougher, still surviving … AND asking at a ripoff price too!

  • Why buy this when you can get Lenovo LOQ RTX3050 6GB for $899 right now
