What about the 5700X3D instead? That was down to $320 yesterday.

Well that's just the CPU, a normal PC with dGPU could use 50-100W at idle to low loads. A micro PC might be able to do the exact same thing…

People usually complain about the VRM, not the chipset. This board has a weak VRM but it shouldn't have any issue with this CPU.

I don't know much about that or how heavily used it'll be but Intel with iGPU seems heavily recommended for it.
09/05/2024 - 09:47
I wouldn't recommend a 5700X for server use because they have pretty high idle power consumption (~20W).

For games the difference shouldn't be noticeable between them

>(a lot less in some). That's because they tested using a 5600 XT so half the tests didn't have a CPU bottleneck.
08/05/2024 - 20:51
up to ~25% faster depending on what game/settings you use
08/05/2024 - 17:24
If you need a motherboard this is on sale too, lowest I've seen: MSI PRO A620M-E $108.42 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126237083337

As long as it's the TLC version. If it's the QLC versions I'd probably choose WD instead.

Closest I see is this but no free shipping…

https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09FXKHN7M 12700KF also dropped to $320.42 $140 less but you lose 4 e cores, some mhz and some cache.
06/05/2024 - 07:28
Costs ~80% more but ~50 faster multithreaded and ~15% faster in games
04/05/2024 - 06:14
Those games are easy to run, even a $300 6600 should do well unless you play at 4K.
03/05/2024 - 17:45
How much is super cheap? The lowest I see is $179

I'd assume an unnoticeable difference if you're going from CL28 5600. If it's CL46 5600 then up to 10% or something. But since you have…
30/04/2024 - 10:29
If it's only for games it's not a good match value wise, it'll barely be any faster than a 5600 or 5700X.
29/04/2024 - 17:09
No game should be taking up 99% of a CPU, you probably have something running in the background that's hogging the CPU from the game..
29/04/2024 - 17:08
But it's also significantly more expensive, a better comparison would be the 12700KF for $324. ~10% slower in multithreaded, ~10% faster in…

The link says it does support HEVC decode? It's only AV1 that might be sketch but it should be just fast enough.
28/04/2024 - 12:09
If you guys can sell PCs so cheap, would you sell parts individually? I only need a new CPU and motherboard.
