    Waiting for a sub 1k 4060, Am I dreaming?

Getting Close AU $1,149.99 with coupon code

      • I've had two msi laptops, both died while their predecessors (ASUS) were still in use by the kids

      • That’s a 45w 4060 though

    • I managed to get this laptop with a a4060 on fb marketplace for 950 with a jbhifi extended warranty a few days ago, so it is possible.

Good laptop and fast, however the screen is incredibly dull looking both in color reproduction and also a sense of depth.

  • How is the quality compared to Lenovo LOQ and Acer Nitro?

This is a pretty bad offering from HP, theres two victus, the victus 15 and 16, the 15 is worse than the 16 by a large margin and are completely different machines despite the name.

Take a look at this disassembly shot, this kind of cooling/heatpipe setup isnt really gaming laptop level in 2024. Grand total of two shared heatpipes going from cpu then to gpu then to that single exhaust and two fans wont help that much. 15.6' and a single ssd slot, this is near msi cyborg/thin levels of shoddiness, only saving grace is gpu tdp is 75w (50+25w)so its not that bad compared to the latter.

This is the victus 16's disassmbly shot by the way.

And here are those of LOQ 15 and TUF A15.

You are paying the price somewhere, never think for a second that they arent cutting you down esp in these budget machines.

Thank you for writing this. I have dealt with over 450 HP laptops since 2014 (maintenance, repair, setup, warranty claims and replacements etc) in my corporate job. My experience says anything from HP will heat up-Guaranteed!
