YouTube Premium Monthly Subscription: TRY ₺79.99 (~A$3.58) / INR ₹149 (~A$2.69), No VPN Required

Hey Everyone!

I know there are a lot of ways to get YouTube Premium, but currently some of these methods are only available on iOS or require VPN. So, I thought I’d share a method I used recently to get YouTube Premium for Android users (or anyone else looking for a good deal). Please be gentle this is my first time posting something like this. I just spent hours on how to format on Oz :p

EDIT: Hey everyone, based on many comments below, it seems this method no longer works as it used to. It might work initially, but later on, YouTube seems to be asking users to update their payment details to match the country they've selected, like India. It works for a while, but eventually, they prompt you to change it. Personally, I haven’t been contacted yet, even after more than a month. Some people are still having success using the iOS method with a Turkey Apple/iOS account. (Reddit)

As the mods mentioned below, depending on feedback, I’ll consider taking this post down. Feel free to let me know your thoughts! :)

How to Get YouTube Premium with Geo-price (Android/Global Method)

Step 1: Set Up a New Google Account

  1. Create a new Google account.
  2. Once it’s created, click on the profile icon in the top right corner and select “Manage your Google account”.
  3. Go here Google Personal info link
  4. Look for a random address in India or Turkey. You can use any address generator online, or search for one.
  5. Make sure the address is set as India or Turkey in the Google payment center link
    — Important: When entering payment details, ensure you use an India or Turkey address. (Comm bank worked, assuming others would work too)

Step 2: Change Country Settings in Google Play Store

  1. Switch to phone and open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top right corner, then go to Settings > General > Account and device preferences.
  3. Make sure the "Country and profiles" setting is set to India or Turkey this is important for the next step.

Step 3: Subscribe to YouTube Premium

  1. Open YouTube either in the app or through Google Chrome (Note: it might not work on PC without a VPN).
  2. In the YouTube app, tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner and select "Get YouTube Premium”.
  3. Choose the payment option in Indian Rupees (INR) or Turkish Lira (TRY) to pay for your subscription at a discounted rate.
  4. Youtube premium

Youtube Plan AUD $ INR ₹ AUD$ Conversion

Student $10.49 ₹89 $1.60 AUD

Youtube Plan AUD $ TRY ₺ AUD$ Conversion
Individual $16.99 ₺79.99 $3.54 AUD
Family $32.99 ₺159.99 $7.08 AUD

Annual $139.99 ₺N/A $N/A

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • If you're having trouble, you can try using the app “Fake GPS Location” by Lexa (available on the Google Play Store). I haven’t played around with it, but it kind of helped me for me on one of my accounts.
  • Alternatively, you might need to use a VPN to set the country correctly.

Moderator's Note

We are aware of users commenting that a local form of payment and/or a VPN is required to purchase the subscription. We are also aware that YouTube is cracking down on non-residential subscriptions and forcing subscribers to change to Australian subscriptions after 1 month. We will leave this deal post up to let users decide for themselves whether it is worth the time and effort to attempt this procedure. We encourage you to discuss your experiences and to vote accordingly.

User Potatohead82 has reported success using an alternative procedure which requires a VPN and a WISE card.

                      • @chris666: Mine doesn't unfortunately.

On 15 November, I received the standard email like everyone else saying my premium will end on 12 December.

But then on 11 December, the payment went through for another month of premium.

Then on 13 December, I got the email I posted above saying my premium will NOT renew and will end on Jan 11. I then went into my YouTube settings to check - and sure enough It says my benefits will end, and there's a "Renew" button there.

When I click the "Renew" button, it presents me with the Aussie prices.

                        I'm with Pakistan btw.

I guess I could possibly try to VPN to Pakistan and then click the "Renew" button - not sure if that will work, but I guess not.

What credit card are you using? I am using CBA Ultimate (no international fee).

                        • @proudwanderer: I'm in exactly the same boat!

                        • @proudwanderer: Using nab… I might get that email in a few days then as mine was only Dec 15 now Jan 15

@chris666: I might try the method of setting up an Indian Apple ID and buying Indian Apple gift cards via India Amazon and then subscribing via iOS. But I'll have to wait until after my current one expires (11Jan).

I think that method has a better chance since no credit card details have been provided.

Although I guess they can still check IP addresses - particularly during usage.

  • Mine will expire from Turkey on the 21st December

Can get the app to appear in turkey currency but none of my cards work…

revolut card, Wise and all aussie cards are a no go

    Does this work?

    https://www.ininal.com/

I think this game is over and google has won

  • I change mine from. Revolute to wise and it worked. They did deduct the TRY but after week later got the same email, billing address don't match Card.

Just spent a fair bit of time trying to get Wise to play ball on my Turkish account. Kept getting rejected.

Ended up joining as a Papua New Guinea Wantok - $8.99USD/month for family, not much in the way of location checking - just had to use NordVPN.

    • What payment method did you use ?

    • did you join the new region on the existing account?

      • Just used my CBA credit card.

I literally just joined Nord's PNG node, then signed up through the YouTube music app. Gave the physical address of a lawyers office in the Moresby CBD.

    • wantok???

  • Even though it said to update my payment I got billed today and have another month
This is my main google account
    Could they ban my account?

    • They're not gonna do bans, just eliminate your options of getting cheap premium unless you resort to using the alternative apps.
Think you get one more month after they send out email about using a local payment method then the subscription is cancelled.

On the list of countries Croatia didnt list as needing payment verification. I can not remember the price but it was cheap

So I moved to Croatia and today I got billed "Premium London GBR" $24.16 AUD. Why England? WTF google.

Tried PNG- its confusing with actual address and legal address. Now it says it will bill my $9us ~ $14au for family per month.
Not sure why i gave usd when vpn to png and gave a png address.

Anyways $14au for family is ok for a while

    • Foreign exchange in PNG is very limited / complex - I'm sure it's much easier for Google to take USD.

This could be a good thing for us..

  • Ok, no email yet from youtube about the payment method with today being the deadline in their email. I did change from revolut to wise… so not sure if it worked

    • Argh got the dreaded email.

Time to look for a solution

For those that signed up to Spotify Philippines all those years ago via a Paypal Philippines account, you can use that as a payment method to subscribe to YouTube PH without VPN or gift cards.

    • I wonder if the same could be done for Netflix…

    • Thank you for informing us of this. I still have the paypal philippines account. Might try it once they have stopped my argentina account.

Funnily today is supposed to be the day the argentina premium ends, but they are still charging my card.

  • Pack it up boys, we're cooked:
You can only change your Google Play country or region annually. After you initially set up or change your Google Play country or region, you must wait 12 months before you can make another change.
To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location and have a payment method from the new country or region.
If you’re a member of a Google Family group, you can’t change your Google Play country or region.

    • Pretty sure that's different - it's about the region of the apps in google play store.

      • No, it's the country change step in the instructions.

  • received:
Premium memberships based in Argentina require a form of payment issued in Argentina.
cannot get it processed any more
