Hope you are well and i promise this is not wirtten by ChatGPT (wink).

So, if you're a YouTube Premium user , you might've noticed things getting a little… sketchy lately. Like, one minute you're streaming without a care in the world, and the next, you’re about to pay $40 aud per month or lose all your Premium perks and don’t even want to think about downloading some random app from the dark side of the internet. Well, don't worry – I’ve got something that might just save you from the abyss!

Inspired by This post from RebeccaSkittles who helped me obain a Disney+ plan (I believe it still works albeit it says expired). The method also seems to work for YouTube Premium, so you might just save your membership from going the way of the dodo!

Also adding the following from the comment which is something I wasn’t aware:

How to Redeem

  • Create a Turkey Apple ID: When creating your Apple ID, ensure that your region is set to Turkey to ensure compatibility with this deal. For the smoothest experience, use an Apple device with Safari as your browser. If the creation process encounters errors, try again on another device. Problems may occur on other browsers for reasons unknown. Create your Turkey Apple ID at appleid.apple.com.

  • Once Registered, go to Settings - click your name on top - select Payment & Delivery or Subscription to make sure you can keep you main apple account signed in but using the new turkey apple ID to sign in for subscriptions and/or payment.

  • Purchase Apple Gift Cards: Visit turgame.com(https://turgame.com) to purchase Apple gift cards in Turkey. Please note that it may take up to 20 minutes for your gift card to appear after purchase. Additionally, you might not need to complete the verification process. Simply view your order, and if no action is required, check your banking app to confirm if you've been charged. If you have been charged, your card is on its way. If not, or if you encounter any issues, contact their support at support.turgame.com(support.turgame.com). I had a 20mins and a 3hours procceing time for two different transaction.

  • Once you got them go to Apple store click on the upper right corner then redeem gift card or code, enter your gift card code and redeem you Turkish lira credit

  • Open YouTube on your phone make sure you signin with the account you want to set up for family plan. click your profile icon "you" down the bottom right and then select youtube premium membership, then there is a line of blue word i remember saying sign up family plan and follow the promp to complete set up.

Important Notes:

  • No VPN is needed to access this deal. Simply create a Turkey Apple ID and purchase Apple gift cards from turgame.com to take advantage of these incredible savings.
  • When redeeming the gift card in the App Store, ensure that you have an address handy. You'll only need to log out of the iTunes and App Store Apple ID, not your main one. This allows you to switch between accounts without interrupting subscriptions or payments.
    Known Issues and Tips.
  • Differnt from Disney+, you can only set up monthly payment for YT Premium so make sure you check your account regularly for balance.
  • Heard the same method applies to India with a cheaper price ($5 per month) but i dont know a place to purchase India Itunes gift card.

    I renewed on the Kazakhstan store with VPN after being kicked off turkey. $15 for family so not as cheap but no stuffing around with gift cards and crap. Seems aren't doing card checks on Kazak yet by all reports.

    45mins of messing around. It didn't like my email, had to make a new fake-gmail. I couldn't work out how to sign in for purchases on the new apple ID, found some instructions on the apple help site of all places. Turgame card came within 5mins, and activation of apple id I used a turkey address / phone number generator.

    I added my ING as backup card for my existing YouTube premium and it didn't work.

    This method explained on here sou ds like it doesn't work with an Android phone.

    I dont own anything apple.

        Would need to a minimum of a iPhone 6S or better as the 6 only supports up to IOS12. One needs a min of IOS15 for YouTube App.

    I couldn't create a Turkish Apple ID:
    Your account cannot be created at this time.
    It says. I've changed the Region to Turkey in Settings/General/Language&Region

    Any idea?

    I have about $70 Apple credit. It won't allow me to change the region while I still have this on my account. I Have no immediate need to use it and would rather not waste it on something silly just to get the balance to zero. Any suggestions?

          You can create an Apple Music account on any device, not just iOS ones.
          Once it's created, follow the post. No factory reset required

            @ESEMCE: OK. So I am trying this now. I signed up for Apple Music on my (work) PC (I used the web version). I set the region to India.
            I purchased an Apple gift card from Amazon India and got an email with the code.
            Now here is where I am running into challenges.
            - I downloaded the Apple Music app onto my PC.
            - I tried to sign in but it says "cannot sign in. To sign in using this account, please go to appleid.apple.com" (I also tried via iTunes and got directed to the website too)
            - I went to the website and completed the email and phone (Aussie number) verification.
            - The next screen after the phone verification is "Apple ID & Privacy”. And this is where it tumbles over.
            Here you are presented with a continue button which does not work. I’ve seen that this is a widespread issue. Suggested solutions are to download Firefox, Opera, and Edge and keep hitting the continue button….still nothing about 2 hours later. I've restarted multiple times. I tired using the new account on ios device but it doesn't go through either.

            anyone know how to successfully get around the Apple ID & Privacy page?

    Hello, I've managed to create the Turkish apple account, also loaded from https://turgame.com, logged in youtube with the turkish account also have my apple device with the turkish account. But when I try to purchase the family premium on youtube get the follow error. Have loaded enough funds for the purchase can see on the apple device.

    "Your purchase could not be completed for assistance, contact itunes support…"

    Has anyone been able to pass this? OR explain what i'm doing wrong here.

      I'm not sure but you don't have to be logged into YouTube using your Turkish acct. Everything iTunes was my Turkish details and I signed up using YouTube on my Aus Gmail acct. Maybe try that anyways?

          For those who have this issue finally working all of sudden. Changed time zone and region to Turkey didn't work at first. About to give up, just left my apple device aside(ipad) and tried again purchasing premium through the youtube app, and suddenly it worked… Don't know why but it worked.

    Thanks for this - my 'other method' YT Premium sub finally came to an end today.

    Just followed front page instructionals - created Turk Apple ID, logged into it on an older iphone, bought the Turk apple gift cards, redeemed on said iphone via its app store, logged into YT app with previously set up family plan manager google account (completely unrelated to the Turk apple ID email) & reinstated YT Premium with previous family plan members intact.

    Now set up a monthly reminder to buy gift card and top up account.

    Question though - can i just link Wise card loaded with TRY to the Turk Apple ID instead of topping up with gift cards each month?

      Question: in the process of you been asked for a Turkish mobile number this seems to be mandatory?

        Indeed in the process, it does ask for a mobile number and defaults to Turk country code prefix - however, it allowed me to change country code to AU and put in AU mobile number. Not sure if it matters but the process I created the Turk apple ID was on a macbook in safari via appleid.apple.com

        Then as part of the verification process, it sent a code to my email associated with the new Turk Apple ID AND then also a code to my AU phone number inputted in the step above.

          So at this point, you don't know whether it will work via the Wise Card and you need to wait till Giftcard credit is used up. Correct?

            @Borg: Correct - I went down the gift card redemption path. It's now loaded and redeemed for the month.

            I haven't added Wise card yet, that was a question to the OzB community to see if anyone had done this already. But I'll go ahead and give it a go too - it'll need to wait until mid-Jan for me to find out if it will work though (after current month's YT premium sub finishes

    First of all, thanks to the OP for posting this.
    This is how I got it to work.
    Status: I currently have an existing Family main account (example account: [email protected]) that expired because it required an India-issued Credit Card.

    1. First create a new Apple account, set it to an Indian address, and use Aussie mobile for verification, example new apple account: : [email protected]
    2. Using iPhone/iPad with iOS16 and the latest YouTube app (some older versions will not work), first log out of all existing Apple and google accounts (if haven't already). Set the iPhone/iPad to India region.
    3. Open App store or iTune app, login with your new Apple account [email protected]. Once login, check the App store or iTune to ensure that the items on sale currency are in Indian Rupee.
    4. Using App Store or iTune app, redeem an Indian Apple Gift Card. You can buy it from Amazon India.
    5. Next, open the YouTube app, login with your existing google family main account [email protected], then click your profile icon "you" down the bottom right and then select youtube premium membership, sign up family plan and follow the promp to complete set up, and this process will use your Apple Gift Card credit for this subscription.
    6. Done, your premium membership is now using Apple Gift Card as payment.

        I'm unsure, as I kept my family group, region India and continued with it. I only changed the payment method from Credit Card to Apple Gift Credit India.

        Yes, I ran into this problem too, it seem to load nothing, I end up using desktop PC to make the Continue button to work, using Edge browser.

      One question - I am assuming, I will not have keep topping up my Apple Account (Indian) with Apple gift card every now and then so that YT subscription can deducted its fees from the App Store, correct?

      I initiated the above steps with a 1000 rs gift card. Wondering if I should add a couple of 1000 rupees more?

      For everyone else - I used an iPad to follow the steps.

        Maybe wait until you're about to run out of Apple Gift Credit, then recharge. You don't want your Apple Gift Credit to go to waste in case they find a way to crack down on this method.

    Strongly against purchasing gift cards from Turgame. From time to time they may ask for your id for "authentication" purpose. Oyunfor is better with instant iTunes gift cards issuing and no id verification (from my experience after switching to them for over 15 months).

      Yup, I was having the same issue, an old iPad mini only has iOS 12 with the YouTube app, does not work for me, I tried it on the later iOS 16 device with the latest YouTube app and it's working for me.

      i did mine recently - it allowed me to change the country code from Turk to AU .

      I signed up and created via desktop (mac) safari - not sure if that makes a difference.

    Another tip to top up your Apple account using Windows PC.
    You can download the Apple TV or Apple Music app from the Microsoft Store.
    After installing, click your username in the bottom-left corner, and you'll see a "Redeem" button and your account balance.

      SeaGM is terrible. Made you sign up, verify mobile number, all to say the item is region locked when paying through paypal,
      And then if you want to pay through their Razor payment system you have to sign up again.

          Yes, the best thing to do is to use a VPN and set it to India or Turkey or whatever region you're using, then renew your membership. When I used the India Apple Gift Card method, the email said you signed up from Australia, which is probably why they can detect it.

    Damn - this was the most convoluted OzBargain I've ever done and I've done some weird ass things (elaborate giftcard stuff back in the day). My previous $3 AU per month family Turkish sub has now increased to $10 per month. It took me almost half a day of combining multiple methods in all this thread but I got there in the end. Was it worth it? Yes, despite the price hike.

    I actually can't remember all the steps as I trial and errored many. Some key things I discovered - through much frustration - that I can recall though:
    - If Signing up to Apple is a problem, go the Apple Music route.
    - If any other Apple issues arise - log out of your main apple account
    - I prefer g2a but it wasn't accepting any card I threw at it.
    - Turgame was a problem as I was using VPN, be sure to disconnect VPN
    - Turgame will likely take money from your card and THEN ask you to verify ID with bank statement, photo ID before they send you the giftcard key. NO THANKS. I raised a support ticket asking for my money back and threatening to do a bank chargeback…. then poof like magic I received my giftcards.
    - Any other issues, restart phone.

    For those that just created a new family account and got the issue "Can't join family group" after signing up to YouTube Premium it's because the head family member has a payment method in a country different to other members. I requested a refund via Apple so I could do the process again which only took a day to get refund. Rather than having each family member update their payment method to match the head member, I had a separate google account that had no address/payment method. Created my Google Family group first, then subscribed again to YouTube Premium.

          Hopefully you set the region to Turkey when creating the account.
          When you login to App store on your iDevice it pops up a message about the store changing to Turkey version.

              @DrScavenger: On iOS there seems to be separate logins possible between App Store/iTunes and the Device Settings. You need to logout of Oz account and login with Turkish Account for the App Store at a minimum. I saw one comment that suggested they needed to log out of Oz account completely from the iDevice Settings. I did this to be sure but I don't know if it's needed.

    Sharing my experience

    • old iPad Air IOS on 12.5 with YouTube already installed.
    • Creating Apple Account (FKA Apple ID), Safari on iPad just timed out. Created on MacBook instead. Region Turkey, Phone AU, no problem for verification.
    • Sign in to new account on iPad
    • Installed Private Internet Access (PIA) from App store and prompted to complete account setup. Didn't need payment method, just Turkey address and phone number
    • Used SeaGM for instant iTunes Gift Card with AU mobile SMS verification
    • PIA helicoptered to Turkey
    • App Store added Gift Card
    • YT App, signed in with previously setup family leader account, Subscribed to Family Monthly
    • Win. Just need to reload TRY500 giftcards every couple of months

        I fixed it just by exiting out of youtube. Going back into my account and adding billing information (fake Turkey address and number). Back into youtube and purchased fine now!

    Just went through the ordeal of getting this all going… It looks like it worked out alright… I signed up my apple id using chrome on windows.. I also wiped my old iPhone SE and logged in with that… kinda happy to have a different apple id.,.. I bought two giftcards from turgame and used a revolut card…. it all seemed to work.. I used my au number… I think i was connected to turkey via NordVPN the whole time.. but only realised it at the end (for the windows computer…not the iPhone)
