Hope you are well and i promise this is not wirtten by ChatGPT (wink).

So, if you're a YouTube Premium user , you might've noticed things getting a little… sketchy lately. Like, one minute you're streaming without a care in the world, and the next, you’re about to pay $40 aud per month or lose all your Premium perks and don’t even want to think about downloading some random app from the dark side of the internet. Well, don't worry – I’ve got something that might just save you from the abyss!

Inspired by This post from RebeccaSkittles who helped me obain a Disney+ plan (I believe it still works albeit it says expired). The method also seems to work for YouTube Premium, so you might just save your membership from going the way of the dodo!

Also adding the following from the comment which is something I wasn’t aware:

How to Redeem

  • Create a Turkey Apple ID: When creating your Apple ID, ensure that your region is set to Turkey to ensure compatibility with this deal. For the smoothest experience, use an Apple device with Safari as your browser. If the creation process encounters errors, try again on another device. Problems may occur on other browsers for reasons unknown. Create your Turkey Apple ID at appleid.apple.com.

  • Once Registered, go to Settings - click your name on top - select Payment & Delivery or Subscription to make sure you can keep you main apple account signed in but using the new turkey apple ID to sign in for subscriptions and/or payment.

  • Purchase Apple Gift Cards: Visit turgame.com(https://turgame.com) to purchase Apple gift cards in Turkey. Please note that it may take up to 20 minutes for your gift card to appear after purchase. Additionally, you might not need to complete the verification process. Simply view your order, and if no action is required, check your banking app to confirm if you've been charged. If you have been charged, your card is on its way. If not, or if you encounter any issues, contact their support at support.turgame.com(support.turgame.com). I had a 20mins and a 3hours procceing time for two different transaction.

  • Once you got them go to Apple store click on the upper right corner then redeem gift card or code, enter your gift card code and redeem you Turkish lira credit

  • Open YouTube on your phone make sure you signin with the account you want to set up for family plan. click your profile icon "you" down the bottom right and then select youtube premium membership, then there is a line of blue word i remember saying sign up family plan and follow the promp to complete set up.

Important Notes:

  • No VPN is needed to access this deal. Simply create a Turkey Apple ID and purchase Apple gift cards from turgame.com to take advantage of these incredible savings.
  • When redeeming the gift card in the App Store, ensure that you have an address handy. You'll only need to log out of the iTunes and App Store Apple ID, not your main one. This allows you to switch between accounts without interrupting subscriptions or payments.
    Known Issues and Tips.
  • Differnt from Disney+, you can only set up monthly payment for YT Premium so make sure you check your account regularly for balance.
  • Heard the same method applies to India with a cheaper price ($5 per month) but i dont know a place to purchase India Itunes gift card.

      Google is harsh, you need to change all the family members region to the one with yours and vpn to join, so lots of work for you as family manager 🌝

      from memory - what you need to do is make your google/yt family first then change your country/wallet settings to turkey. Once you subscribe then everyone in the family automatically get the sub. Downside is that you can't invite people who weren't already part of the family as you get the country error…

      set your account to the same region, turkey or Argentina (depending on what you used). Both family manager and members need to be in the same region.

        I tried creating a completely new account through an Indian VPN for an Indian based Apple account still unable to accept invite. Tried with Australian and previously Turkish family account - also failed.

          Solved - double check country of origin via Google Play. If you have only iOS, look at Play via the browser. Then create account using VPN - it’s okay to use Australian phone number to verify account. You’ll still be logged with the same location as your VPN.

    I got the email from YT too! Was on family YT India.
    Have changed payment method to an Indian card… Fingers crossed.
    Issue is that I also have a Google One 1 TB subscription, that is based in Australia. May throw some red flags of they do data matching…

      Same here. No Apple devices as I thought I could just use the iTunes app and/or fake user-agent in the browser but clearly you need the iOS version of the YouTube app for the last step so I'm stuck…
      [Edit] I reread what you wrote - you can actually redeem the gift card in the iTunes app on Windows, but you can't then use it to pay for youtube without iOS…

    Like many others, my last payment went through about a week ago, and the subscription via Google got cancelled due to a Turkish credit card requirement. I saw this today and subscribed via Apple with no issues. Then I realised, I had my YT Premium from Google payment active until mid-December so technically I double paid. I contacted Google and to my surprise, they just refunded the whole amount that I paid via Google a week ago. Just give it a go if you are in the same boat.

        I assume that must be the case, I can't see any other way for the Turkey Apple ID to be linked to the YouTube app, but I could well be missing something. Switching Apple accounts on the phone is a bit of a PITA though.

    No luck signing up for a new Apple ID. I’ve tried on several devices and different browsers, with and without VPN, clearing cookies etc and varying personal details during the signup process so that my DoB and name don’t match … I guess I’m SOOL

      I think I figured it out. I went to music.apple.com, clicked on the red ”sign in“ button on the top right of the site, then clicked on "Create New Apple Account", agree to the terms and entered my details while selecting "Turkey" as the country.
      This will create a new account based in turkey, allowing you to then follow the rest of the steps OP posted in this thread.

        I followed your advice and was able to semi-create an Apple Account… everything was fine until I have to turn on the two-step verification (using aus phone number), and now I'm stuck at "Apple Account & Privacy". Clicking on "Continue" doesn't do do anything, the page just doesn't go anywhere… its so weird.

    I just did this for my Family membership but through India. About $7.10 per month. Apple Gift cards bought from Amazon India loaded for the next 6 months.

    Hopefully nothing goes wrong now.

      Yes cancel it now but sign up a day or two before your current plan expires, because when you renew it starts another month immediate so you lose any days you would’ve had left.
      I lost 4 days - not a big deal as I was desperate to find an alternative to going without YT Premium/Music.

      Nope, technically speaking you don't have to change anything on your existing family plan, only change is the iOS payment method on your yt account log in IOS YouTube app.

          Creating a Turkish Apple ID and using it as the default payment for your existing gooe account that you use for Youtube. The only thing that changes is the payment method. Your Youtube account and everything stays the same, except your payment method which will show as "Billed through Apple".

      In my experience, it's better to sign up a new Gmail for turkey apple account set up.

      This method dong need to have this turkey account in your family yt plan, you can still use your old method.

      Ok let me separate your thought. Country of email has nothing to do when registering on Apple as gmail(Google) and Apple account are 2 separate independent system, however, not on Google Play as Gmail and Google Play are manipulative by Google so definitely data shared among them so you have to really careful
      Ok to answer your question, you can put whatever your existing gmail hotmail blah blah but definitely not your primary apple ID
      Yes you can use the AU number to verify
      A little tweak here, if you’re facing any issue like capcha keeps loading. The easy way is choose US as country then change back to Turkey later

    My brother's iPad/phone/pc
    Partners phone

    All on the family plan, and we all watch a tonne on YouTube, and wall all moved from Spotify to YouTube music (except the quality is a bit shit)

    Do you need a phone number to create the Turkish Apple ID account? Originally mine was asking for one and then asked me to verify the phone number but I made the account through iTunes and manage to bypass that although now when I login it’s asking me to add a phone number to the account I don’t know if I can add my Australian one even though it’s been linked to another Apple ID… I believe it wants this just for two factor authentication

      You can. I did it for India. Although it didn’t accept my phone number possibly because I now have 4 Apple IDs in my name (long story). So I used a family member’s number to get the code and it worked.

        By the way, do I need to wait for my YouTube Premium subscription to fully finish before subscribing through this method? Mine’s due to finish in a couple of weeks, so I wasn’t sure if it would cause any issues if I switched over early.

    I have managed to create an account on my iPhone but then when I refer back to my settings and my payments delivery and or subscriptions of my original account there is no ability to add in my new account

      Since you've done all the steps, go to the App store and login with your Turkey email. You'll be able to redeem Turkey gift card.

      Stay logged in on the App store with the Turkey email and open YouTube app.

      Find settings, then 'purchases and membership'. Now you should see prices in TRY. (You can stay logged in with your main email for YouTube account)

    Good on you for posting this comprehensive guide and I've been on this for a couple of months now. While it is still cheaper compared to local prices, this is the new price that just came into effect and is more than a 30% increase from previous pricing. Damn greedy bastards at youtube, I say, unless someone could think of a good reason for such a massive price increase. Either way, its still a good price for now, but if these massive price increases keep happening, the gap in savings will close real fast.

    I've been on the Argentina one for years happily paying <$2 at first, now it's what 4 or 5 I don't even look. But this? Not a chance. I use YT music over Spotify but it's so poorly made, why does it think when I'm driving along and press a button on my steering wheel to ask it to play a song it'll attempt to throw up a video on YouTube "playing Linkin Park In the End 1080p full lyrics on YouTube music, sorry this isn't available right now" … Did I ask for that? Surely it should be able to know that I'm driving and shouldn't be trying to play videos, especially since I'm using Android Auto…

    Or it'll play some random live version of a song when I ask, give me the studio version every single time unless I explicitly ask. Happy to put up with that nonsense if I'm paying a dodgy price, but jumping through hoops like this is not happening, and paying full Australian prices is definitely not happening

    I recently found a friend whose relative in India can provide access to an Indian bank card. We’re planning to set up new Gmail accounts to use with a YouTube Premium family plan. I'll be the family manager and I use iPhone.

    I have a few questions:

    1. Do all the Gmail accounts in the family plan need to be created using an Indian VPN?
    2. Should I configure all new gmail accounts before making the YouTube Premium purchase? If yes, how do I setup these family Gmail accounts?
    3. What’s the best/working method to purchase the family plan while staying in Australia but using an Indian bank card?
      I’ve read that setting up the accounts carefully can avoid issues later. Any advice or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated!

            @G-rig: which vpn did you use? IPVanish works for me for most countries including Laos - virtual (which is usd and getting up there in price not much point) - doesn't work to see Thai pricing though.
