I think ShopBack is offering $50 cash back for both options.

  • +1

tempted but no 5g on 12m plans??

  • How long do I have to activate once purchased.

  • Is it also Telstra network like Boost?

    • +4

      amaysim piggyback on Optus network

      • +2

I can tell you, Boost 5G sucks. Never impressed by it.

        • I feel Boost 5G is going downhill.
It was definitely better before and was one of the reason I went on it, e.g non stop reception throughout Sydney Airport train tunnel. It's definitely worse now, and I would say even worse than the 1 month of Amaysim when I ported out and back

          • @skylinebmwm5: So what's the moral of the story?

Recently visited drone show, Boost simply had no reception.

            • @sqheaven: Boost completely fails in a crowded environment. I have complained multiple times but they just blame it on outages. eg. in Sydney region I consistently am having connectivity issues at Castle Hill Mall, Westfield Sydney, The Star, any underground station during peak hours

              • @igoforthebest: Telstra too. Very choppy in Sydney metropolitan.

Will give it another 12 months… If nothing changes, Optus it is.

                • @Chinese: I would have thought Telstra was top of the table in terms of reception

                  • +1

@harvestloon: Telstra and Boost are the same network with regards to reception. All networks suffer congestion at large events.

                    • @thedavemiester: I am talking about tunnels through the airport line/blue line, CBD etc.

                      Pretty bad these days.

One way around it is deploy repeater to eliminate the issue. That means spare/unused capacity when it's not peak.

                      • @Chinese:

One way around it is deploy repeater to eliminate the issue. That means spare/unused capacity when it's not peak.

Deploy a better DAS system :)

                    • @thedavemiester: Same network, but boost may be depriotised with Telstra uses getting a useable internet connection where boost doesn't.
There's even been people who have Telstra and Boost on the same phone via sim/esim who have said at Large sports arenas Telstra is useable , Boost is not.

          • @skylinebmwm5: Ugh that's frustrating. I just got back onto Boost for 12 mo after being on Amaysim and their terrible network in Sydney for 12 mo ( was on Boost prior to that and it was much better).

      • i bought moose mobile one last week, i was about to activate today, my plan is expiring today, the last year one amaysim half price.
if i port out to moose and port back on 29th june, am i still considered new customer ??

  • +1

Short version: 40% off + Bonus $50 CB via SB on Long Expiry Plans 200GB/12 Month $144 | 240GB/12 Month $180 @ amaysim

  • My Amaysim expires next month, can I transfer out and back in again before 30 June?

    • I don't see why you can't.

      • Don't know if I need to be ported out at least 30 days to come back as a new customer though. Cheers

  • I think Shopback will fail to honor since they havnt updated their rates, where as CR has updated theirs.

    • Last year ShopBack was late to the party in updating their rates too, but they honoured all transactions made before their updates
Things have changed a lot since then too

      • Yep. Mass lay offs and GYB has changed/is far less effective.

      • do you know, if its for new customers or existing as well ??

  • Anyone know the best way to port out and back?

    • Purchase a $2 SIM from another carrier such as boost, then port back in

    • +1

Telstra or Boost are the only $2 sims that don't require a recharge on top.

      • Do they really get activated without a recharge? How? I thought it forces you to select a plan, is there a force-fail method that we need to follow?

    • +1

go to coles/woolworth(post office too?) and grab coles mobile 28days sim $10 or lebara extra small 30 days $9. use it for a while and then switch over to amaysim. I don't like waiting for delivery so this is what I've been doing.

  • How many days before I have to activate the sim?

edit: i'm already on amaysim, current plan finishes in 60 days

    • You need to activate by 30/6

      • Not sure if you'd be a new customer if you port out of amaysim and port back in. In the same boat.

  • Does anyone know if it's limited to one sim purchase per shopback account? I need to buy two sim cards for the fam and don't if I'll get the cashback for one or both.

  • -5

    pathetic reception

    • +2

all dependant on where you live. For me Optus network is better where I am compared to the other two. (more 5G spectrum)

  • How does Shopback work if I want to buy 2 of them? Do I just order 2 and they will track back $100 or do I need to order through 2 separate Shopback accounts?

  • Plan info says new services only! Can anyone confirm if existing amaysim customer can leverage this offer?

    Promo: EOFY
$144 for 200GB! 40% off first renewal. Ongoing is $240 for 200GB/year. New mobile services only.Promo terms apply.

    • +1

Port out and port back in

    • This is the response from customer executive.

"After checking the details you provided, I found that the promo is for the new number or new account."

  • What is a free/cheap sim to port out so I can port in again? Amaysim won't match this offer for existing customers

  • Does this include unlimited calls to international countries like the 149$ plan they have?

  • If we have an existing service but don't want to retain the number, do we qualify for this deal and ShopBack?

I figure that is a new service, but given I am not technically a new customer I'm not sure how it would work.

  • If you need 5g, the Optus deal for $220 for 260GB data and 14% cashback on ShopBack is worth looking at too

    https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/sim-plans/320

    • no international calls included for this linked deal.

  • Can I use this plan as an eSIM for data? I’m not sure but am guessing physical sim only.

    • You can choose eSIM when purchasing the plan.

      • +1

Thanks and that qualifies for cashback? It says “ Cashback is only applicable for customers getting a New Service (SIM) & New Sign Ups (New Customers).”

        • <following>

  • Was on their 180G 12 month plan, and was offered 50% off for renew.

    • On their 180G 12 months plan too. Could you share how did you get the renew offer? I checked my email, nothing yet. THX

      • I didn't do anything. auto renew was off becuase I was going to churn, just got the email about one month before expiry.

    • My friend got offered the same. I then spoke to the customer care and they offered me 25% off so that makes it to $150.

      • Same here. They are only offering 25% off for renew. So I turned off auto-renew and waited for 50% off offer

        • Ok I'll wait then and see what happens. Will turn off auto renew.

          • @DealBreaker85: I forgot to turn off auto renew, customer support only offered me 15% off

  • +1

Thanks OP, just purchased. Looks like the best of these EOFY SIM deals for 365 days…

  • Bought my plan at 11:30 and no shopback tracking so far :(

    • Might need op to change it back to another cashback program if it isn't tracking still…

  • +1

I'm on the amaysim's $119 annual plan with 60GB Data - Woolworths exclusive which was on offer at $99 with 2000 Everyday Reward points, so effectively $89.

Around the plan expiry date one year down, amaysim threw in a 25% off promo on the renewal cost $119 - 25% = $89.25 and gave in 50 GB Bonus data. I had 50 GB data rolled over from my previous year, so in total got 50+50+60GB Plan data.

Renewed at this offered promotion and now have 160GB Data to use. The plus point of this plan? It has unlimited international talk and text to 28 countries, and I think this is the cheapest value annual plan with international inclusions now.

    • +2

wait until it expired and you will received a 50% off promo.

      • Really, I didn't see one.
        Should have asked.

        • I got a number that's don't use any more. I received the 50% off after the previous plan expired

  • +1

I’ve been exceptionally pleased with Amaysim. Great app and great service. I get a full 5G signal almost everywhere in Melbourne Metro. I have seen it seldom fall back on 4G on the rare occasion. I came from Boost and haven’t looked back. I’ve said this about a dozen times, where Boost shines is when you leave metro and enter rural areas.

  • Damnit if only this offer came a couple of weeks ago before I renewed with amaysim for $90 and they gave me 110gb.

  • +2

Cashback for Unlimited 200GB Mobile SIM Plan has been quietly lowered to $40.

    • so they are matching the same cashback as Topcashback.

  • Did they get rid of their lower end 12 month plans like the 60 GB?

    • +2

Yup, this amaysim EOFY Deal in 2023 was probably the last and best-bet. $60 for 12-month 60GB with a potential $17.50 Cashback.
Not sure if the Cashback tracked for all, as many have reported it to be missing. But 'twas a sweet deal.

After that the price-hike hit and almost all operators revised their annual plan offerings. So, now it is difficult to find a < $100 deal for annual plans. I've only seen the following plans recently that were < $100

      • Yeah that's the plan I was looking to renew. Wonder if they'll send me a retention offer or if they'll just tell me to take a hike

        • +2

Keep Auto-renew off in your account if you haven't already done so. They might initially offer you 15% off but dont accept it and you will get 25% off when about a month is left.

Also, some have suggested that if you let the plan expire, they offer you 50% off to continue but that may involve a risk as your number may not have outgoing calls and data capability for a short period of time. I havent gone to this extent so cant comment.

          • @djoz: Good call, would've forgotten to turn off auto renew if you hadn't mentioned it!

            • @Diji: I was offered $90 to renew with an extra 50GB (110GB total + whatever I had left over from the 60GB. Only used like half of it cos spent most of the year profiting from Boost sims.)

      • $60 for 12-month 60GB with a potential $17.50 Cashback.

Yeah my $17.50 was approved. And I think I got an extra $7 too. Well that's what it says in the list (2 entries.)

  • Tracked In: 2 days

It will be lucky dip with shopback.
No sign of tracked transaction so far

  • Does the cashback only apply to new customer to Amaysim? What if I purchased a simcard for one month service two months ago and didn't renew, will I still be considered as an old customer?

    • The term is very unclear.

Cashback is only applicable for customers getting a New Service (SIM) & New Sign Ups (New Customers).

I presume if you're porting your number, it still considered as new service.
That's what I did, but my transaction from yesterday hasn't tracked yet.
Considering cancelling the order now rather than arguing with Shopback.

      • +1

Just called Amaysim customer service and it seems once you had a service with them and will be their customer for 1 year from the day when you have no active service with Amaysim. So even if you didn't renew after the initial service you signed up with them you're still an existing customer for another 12 months.

        • So that means shopback cashback won't be applicable?

      • me too, bought on June 12 but shopback still not tracked, just reporting the missing cashback vis their online chat, how to cancel the order if they can not fulfil cashback? Can I return sim and cancel order from Amaysim or have to deal with shopback?

        • I wouldnt think you can return the sim for a refund. Purchased mine yesterday so not too confident

        • I read Amaysim term yesterday, it seems you can refund it minus shipping cost if you haven't activated it yet.
You need to chat with their live chat though.

  • I'm currently with Amaysim, not sure if I can switch to another network and port back in 1 day? any anyone have experience with porting in a short time like this?

  • does this allow you to receive banking sms for free while oversea? without adding the international roaming?

  • An alternative with 5G for similar price would be Lebara Medium 360 with 260GB included, 4G/5G and eSIM compatible and unlimited international calls to 35 countries for $179 until 1st of July 2024. Vodafone network. No cashback.

How long do you have until you activate it?

    • read the bolded text in the post

      • Any idea what happens if you activate after the date?

        • Would also like to know this. Thanks for asking.

  • Can I use my old number? I'm with Voda right now.

  • Just had read of the offer T&C and see below:
