Hey all, I’ve received a dm from GYB, here’s the response

Happy to help any individuals with their Cashback, but just as an update if you're able to share; the coupon code listed on Amaysim alongside this deal (FLASHMLE) isn't a stackable code with ShopBack at the moment, Amaysim have not requested that this be added to our website as a stackable code, using this code may result in the Cashback that tracks being invalidated by Amaysim at a later date.
As for the rates, they were in fact updated a bit late by Amaysim, meaning that we were only able to get the new rates in at about 2:15pm today. Of course, we're honouring users that purchased before the rates were updated with the previous rate. Some of these will need to be manually updated by the team, but should be all sorted shortly. Any specific issues, folks can hit up my DMs and I'll get back to them ASAP.

I’ll get the mods to pin this comment for visibility

    • +1

Dam, should have bought before they updated instead of waiting for confirmation either way…Win some lose some!

    • +1

Wow! Thank you for the official confirmation

    • I bought the $200 plan at $100 this morning via cashrewards does that mean I get the $35 cashback?

      • CR was always $10.50, OP is talking for Shopback.

    • A bit confused, so if I clicked through ShopBack for the $75 plan when the cashback was $35, since Amaysim auto applied the FLASHMLE code to get the $75 price, the cashback might be invalidated? Or will they honour it for now?

      • They should but it might be for the revised 10.50$

      • I received $10.5 for 180GB plan via Shopback yesterday morning before they reduced rate.

    • +1

"using this code may result in the Cashback that tracks being invalidated by Amaysim at a later date."

that doesn't sound reassuring to me.

    • So the listed rates on the Shopback website includes the '$100 for 200 GB' plan, listed as 'up to $35'. Hard to see how this couldn't be deemed as eligible for cashback.

    • So they normally do honour the initial cashback amount in situations like these?

If that's the case next time I'll buy first and ask questions later.

      • +1

I have not received the update from GYB yet and he may be really busy with more DMs to handle right now.
Will let you know if they honor the purchase.

        • @gotyourback Hi Mate, do you have any inputs on this transactions. Still mine not tracked (the purchase done on 22nd May early morning). Have sent you the DM as well.

$35 shopback on 150gb Long expiry plan
    $35.00 shopnack on 180GB Long-Expiry Plan
    $17.50 shopback on 60GB Long-Expiry Plan

    • -1

Yes but it says Cashback is limited to only one per Shopback account. I need to purchase 6 sims for me and my family but I will only get Cashback on one, is that correct?

        • +77

Yes, our current plans expire mid June so this deal works out well. Anything else you'd like to know your highness?

          • +7

            @billy_bob: Shots fired!

          • +1

@billy_bob: Is this what they call tongue in cheek?

            • +7

@SillySorjai: I just found King Stu's comment a bit strange/immature considering he knows nothing of my situation. I look after the sims for me, my wife, 2 teenage kids and my elderly parents. It's actually a painful and time consuming task when I have to port over 6 sims every month, so this 12 month deal will save me a lot of headaches.

              • +3

@billy_bob: Easiest way would be to open a shopback / cashrewards account for each person.

      • -2

so technically it is a No when you said a Yes? it's like Yay Nay?

    • +4

      When purchasing you get

      UNLIMITED 60GB

      $120/365 days
      Promo: FLASHMLE

Limited 50% off offer! Now only $60 for first renewal. Ongoing is $120/year. New mobile services only.Promo terms apply.

That’s probably a promo code that invalidates cashback

      • +2

I got same $60 Deal during thier Black Friday Sale last November
Been fairly happy with Amaysim over the last 6 months
Seems like You dont chew through data as much as other plans so your Data seems to last for longer.

All I can say to anyone is to jump on it if you need to renew your plan before 15 June as they may pull the deal quickly once their sales quota for the deal is reached - finished 2 days early last November

        • +1

Great advice ! I missed the last deal so I have jumped on it this time. 12 month deal is great as it's much easier than sim hopping every 1-3 months.

    • hmmm I just bought the 180GB for $100 and no track yet from Shopback. Anyone got theirs tracked?

      • Given it's not listed in the coupons on Shopback, I am guessing it won't. If they do end up listing it, no idea if they would honour it?

Cashrewards has the code listed but they don't have such a large cashback so I have my reservations on Shopback being able to work with this offer

      • Update us once you get tracking.

      • Nope, still waiting

        • I received $10.5 for 180GB plan via Shopback yesterday morning before they reduced rate.

    • Does that actually work though? Will Shopback approve it when using the 'FLASHMLE' code? @gotyourback

      • keen to know as well.

        • +1

same here, has anyone got a chance to confirm with Shopback regarding with 'FLASHMLE' code since it's not listed on their website yet? Thanks.

          • @shoppinginsyd: Theres no need to use the code right? I didnt out any code in and i only paid $100

      • I went through Shopback app to purchase $60 12 months deal. Didn't have to add any code, it was listed as half price for $60 with cashback tab showing $17.50 at the bottom of the page. Therefore, I was positive it should track as it's the deal that Shopback app has redirected me to. No tracking yet but have to wait 2 days and then I'll be lodging a report with Shopback if still no tracking.

        • Could you point me to where in the app I can find “listed as half price for $60 with cashback tab showing $17.50”?

          • @mocha_latte: It was there at the time I ordered the SIM. $60 listed for 60gb long term plan on the Amaysim website which opened on the SB app with $17.50 as cashback for 60gb in the cashback tab. I didn't take a screenshot myself as thought it's not an issue.

But here is a link to the screenshot

Today it did track $10.50 though.

    • Ah bugger. I went through CashRewards before I read your comment. Only got $10.50 back.

    • +4

I've just had a chat with the Shopback team. They have confirmed the $35 cashback applies to the 180GB Long-Expiry Plan.

    • How long does it take til it tracks it?

    • Only $7 for 60GB now

  • +3

My current prepaid with Amaysim ends in 2 days, I tried to switch to this plan in the app but the plan is showing full price. What is the cheapest/quickest way to port out and back in so I can get this half price?

    • +12

Don't port. Just ask them on chat. They will apply it for you without porting. (My best understanding as per recent experience with them)

      • My unlimited 60GB plan expires in just less than 2 months.
Not sure if I should bother with chat like you have suggested, or just buy the SIM from this deal, and do the porting in and out dance after plan expiry.

        • +4

Lyca is currently running $1 Sim deals for 28 days. You can port out and port back in with this deal as a new customer.

      • Thanks for the tip sir.

I am in the same boat, with amaysim at the moment and trying to buy this long expiry plan. During purchase it's asking if I am getting a new number or porting over - which one should I choose? (or it doesn't matter?)

        Thanks again

        • Same number, they will just apply the plan.
          Not sure on cashback impact

          • @hellodealhunter: Even if the ported in old number is from amaysim?

            • @solacens: Good point! Some telcos won't let you port in and out within a matter of days.
I think Vodafone has this restriction. Not sure about Optus / Amaysim, and others.

      • +2

Don't port. Just ask them on chat.

Wouldn't you lose out on cashback doing that?

        • At just $60 for 12 months, who cares?????

          • @HeWhoKnows: At just $42.50 after cashback I care.

Deal expires next Monday so plenty of time to port out and back in.

            • +2

@HomeAlone: And if you miss out you pay $99.
              $60 is ridiculously cheap
              Be quick! Just do it

          • +1

@HeWhoKnows: ozbargainers will spend hours on getting a deal that will save them a few bucks. mind boggling.

            • +1

@dudebargain: I think for many it’s more about beating the system than the cost saving

      • +1

I guess, you won't get cashback then.

      • +3

Just did it and no luck. Only offered 25% off.

        • +1

          same here…

      • +1

They didn't budge for me. Only offered 25% off.

    • +1

Any Telstra, Optus or Vodafone SIM

    • I was just able to get support to apply the 50% discount for my existing plan. They initially offered $10 credit, then 25% before finally 50% off. Unfortunately it doesn’t extend your existing expiry date and data bank doesn’t carry over. Still great deal and don’t have to deal with porting in and out etc.

      • I got to the 25% mark, and confirmed it will act as a standard renewal, i.e. my data will rollover. I took it since I still have 60gb in the bank from a previous fortunate turn of events.

        • +1

I got 50% off as standard renewal today, I had heaps of data left which went on data bank. Expiry date is in 365 days instead of original expiry date + 365, which is odd, only missed out on a couple of days

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: no agent want to play ball with me.
ill have to port out and back in again :(

      • But it is for new mobile number only. Could you please confirm it also applies to porting existing number?

        • sorry my bad :(

  • +1

How long can I wait to activate this? $75 with $35 cashback is excellent. $40 for 6 months is a steal.

    • +9

If I wasn't having such a blast getting sims free or for profit on a monthly basis, I'd jump on that 180GB 12 month plan for $65 after cashback.

    • Terms and conditions say activate by 15 June

      • +1

What happens if you activate after 15 June?

You end up with a dud SIM card that you spent good money on and can’t activate?

        • Looks like you'd just end up with a sim and no cashback?

    • +1

be careful, don't get too excited > Promo: FLASHMLE -$75.00

Use only promo codes from ShopBack

    • $40 for 6 months is a steal

      How about this

      • Hah that's what I'm on right now. Still waiting for them to activate my service after 5 days now. Locked me into another $45 month with Vodafone due to their delay.

    • I bought the $100 and only $10.50 tracked :(

      • +1

        Mine none tracked so far

      • you might have used cash rewards. They were talking about shopback.

    • Says Activate by 15 June 2023

  • +3

damn, I just bought the catch connect 60gb 365 day plan an hour ago for $89 :/

    • RIP, same here.
Hoping they can cancel my order on live chat later in the day

    • +1

Same with me, I recently renewed with Catch. Damn.

    • Same

    • I lost my number after a holiday said that Catch reserves the number for only 3 months (should be 6 months). Went on live chat and they temped to help (who knows if they really did) and the outcome was no luck. They agreed that they actually could do more at willing. (They lost me at their last response lol). Lucky it was not my main number

    • Me too man, did it 2 days ago!

  • +6

I just bought 1 year plan for 119 in recent Woolworth deal :(

    • +6

WWS 119 is really a different plan compared to the 120 plan - for those who need international calls that one is very competitive, even if 120 is doing half price.

      • This comes with international calls

        • Are you sure? Reading the Amaysim website it seems like you need a different plan for international calls.

          • +1

@inherentchoice: says that the $50 plan on this deal doesn’t include international call & text, but the $75 and $100 ones do - unlimited calls & text to a limited range of countries

            • @sanayi9: That’s the 120 plan just happened to be 60 dollars. Shouldn’t take massive discounts for granted.

    • +1

      Username doesn't check out.

    • +1

10% off groceries once a month is the bigger saving

      • You could buy Everyday Extras for $7 a month and still be cheaper than the $170 Woolworths plan

        • +2

He's paid $10 a month for his mobile plan. If he spends $200 a week on groceries that's $20 a month saving, or $240 a year.

          • @kulprit: It's situational. If the person is going to be multiple $100+ shops or more in a month, makes sense. For people who are able to do a single large monthly shop and then smaller shops, having the second 10% discounted shop wouldn't be worth the extra cost.

The caveat to all of this, is you lock yourself into Woolworths which can be more expensive than other grocers, and also you will almost definitely get less targeted Woolworths Rewards boosters/targeted offers, which will cost you hundreds over the year as well.

            • +1

@rekke: There’s also the online order trick which makes 2x 10% off shops the actual deal but as you say it’s situational. Not everyone’s in a situation where an online order a month is possible and not everyone’s in a position where large monthly shops are practical.

    • Woolworths plan has MUCH BETTER COVERAGE
I know from past experience from travelling up and down the NSW Coast

For starters you are on the much better Telstra network!!!!
10% off your biggest shop each month can pay for the plan.

      • Woolworths is $170. Instead buy the amaysim at $100 and then top up with rewards @$59. It's cheaper and you also get triple points and 10% off at Big w.

      • +1

Isn't Woolworths the wholesale Telstra network though? Not truly as good for coverage.

    • same :(
(Paid $99 right, but got 2000 points, right??) edit: I mean, amaysim plan bought from woolies.
I was just wondering whether I can return them?

Re the replies, I didn't realise amaysim have similar plans $1 different. That's confusing.

    • Hey Hellodealhunter

Would you mind sharing the URL for the Wooloworths deal (1 yr plan for $119) ? Thanks

  • how bad is the optus mobile network compared to telstra?

    • +5

Unless you are rural or travel a lot it really just comes down to tower coverage in your area.

      • +1

        Yep depends on your location.

        Anyway nice post Grabber.
