Or contact them and they will resolve it 9 times out of 10
I suppose I was the 1/10 then. And the forums - being full of posts with people denied claims - are also in that 10%.
YMMV for sure - and you can all do as you like, obviously - but ShopBack are notorious for denying valid claims and all the downvotes in the world won't stop that from being a reality.
Once my AFCA complaint was filed it was fixed within a day. A month of no responses, fixed in one day. Funny that.
This is genuine advice to people to use their rights as a consumer using our regulators for relief if they are denied cashback. And my neg vote is because ShopBack should be banned from this platform until they clear up issues with past cashbacks - not only the ones with AFCA complaints.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try AFCA.
@dumdum2: I did FT NSW and AFCA and while I love FT they took about two weeks to get back to me - AFCA had it wrapped up within a week.
It's good advice, I don't know why you were downvoted on your original comment as there are a plethora of users who have had issues with cashback & would find that information helpful
@FlatulentFrank: Yeah, it's a bit weird to get angry at someone simply warning others of the possibility of getting screwed, and offering a tangible, little known solution if that happens.
People are strange.
I agree that shopback should be banned.I booked expedia last year, about september, and it did not track properly. Since then EVERY cashback over $10 or so, maybe even less, has either not tracked, been declined or is sitting there well past its due date.
Last week they gsve me a credit for one of the rejected and said it was their generosity that i got it. Funny because i use the same browsers or devices as when my .20c or .80c cashback tracked perfectly, often from the same store/place.
I replied to their email and told them straight, coincidences dont happen multiple times and if my small amounts track the big ones should too. Not using them anymore
You'd have to ban all the cashback providers then as they all have the same issues. Check the forums and you'll find issues with TCB, CR Etc.
I personally have had 10s of transactions with SB without issue. And if there are I've just messaged them and it was fixed in a day.
Shopback have stuffed me around too. Didn't know you could take them to AFCA. Thanks for the tip
Good to know how to deal with them if they deny it. I haven't had one denied yet but have had to report a few to Shopback themselves (always resolved). It would be good to know the actual stats on what's denied and what isn't. The 9/10 was more of an idiom than literal, only based on my own experiences too. If they are denying legitimate claims it bares resemblance to some of the dodgy practices of other cashback services e.g. "Honey".
Sorry to hear you had to pursue it so far just to get what you're owed.
A while ago they did but now, no, you'll never get through to a real person and they won't resolve any issues.
I had an issue 1 week ago and got 2 separate people contacting me to resolve the issue within a few hours. I was actually shocked how quick and easy it was as the forums here would have me believe there's noone working there.
@DingoBilly: Pretty interesting. I just got the same generic message twice about how they're "investigating" as if there’s something complicated about this.
And I have Shopback Plus which is supposed to provide improved customer service
Since the mass layoffs at Shopback, they have been a shambles in my view.
Never had an issue with cashback. Have bought these gift cards a few times.
Anyone know how to cancel the 6 month uber one sub from commbank
In the Uber app click on Account, Uber One, Manage Membership
Can the credits on these Uber gift cards be used during overseas trips?
No
Is this only one per customer?
If they don't honour your cashback, complain to AFCA and it will be resolved.
