Peugeot E-2008 GT SUV MY23 (Orange Fusion) from $39,990 Driveaway @ Peugeot

5150

This was a $64,990 DA car a month ago, a huge $25k price drop. To be fair this was more like a $50k car with a 65k RRP but now selling for 40k.

To put into perspective there’s only 2 EVs sub 40k DA on market, base level MG4 and GWM Ora.

This is easily the more premium of the 2.

I’ve given this a test drive, although it’s not as punchy as the MG4 it’s a nicer drive and has a much more premium feel and more features such as sunroof.

            • @Bab: I just started reading about ceramic coating, I’m not sure yet…. I certainly have no experience

    • +2

It’s a big dealer scam with paint protection.. take it as a lesson, next time jump onto waxit car care and buy a full polish kit and ceramic coat and learn to paint correct and ceramic coat yourself before the dealers scams you with “paint protection”. Dealers literally don’t prep the paint at all and use a cheap crappy ceramic coating done by the same underpaid guys who wash all the cars with there dirty rag.

  • Has anyone found good seat covers you'd recommend?

  • The app is horrible as no charging data/control option is available.

    • the car has no sim card, so ofcuorse there are no controls via app

    • I'm a bit late to this, just picked mine up over the weekend. Does the app actually work for you? Mind if I ask what phone you are using? I've tried it on all 3 phones in my household and it just errors after i log in. Super frustrating. Love the car otherwise though..

Using iPhone. No issues connecting but the app is pretty basic/useless.

  • I picked up mine about 2 weeks ago. Just wanted to find out if any of you have noticed an EV/Regen whine noise which follows acceleration or deceleration, especially noticeable between 20-30kph? It's a sound I now cannot unhear and never noticed it in the first week of driving…

    • Yea, its pretty common in most EVs, mine is very subtle i often dont hear it, with kids and radio on etc..but its nothing compared to ICE noise right?

My car has a loudish brake noise when it comes to a complete stop…that's a little more unusual

      • Yeah, nothing like ice noise, but because it's quiet, I automatically hone in on noises.. I've booked it in to get looked at anyway, just to make sure, coz it is a bit noisy.

Brake noise would be the pads, I have the same, hopefully get better as they bed in. App is a bit crap, wish I could preheat and check charge level, although the interior is pretty nice! And a big thank you for posting the deal in the first place cloudy, awesome find!

        • Oh you're welcome :)

I was a little disappointed with the no app thing, but I bought it knowing so, as I asked and researched in advanced and was told not in Australia.

It's weird though, cause I've seen many videos of those features on our car, but on European/UK roads, so the feature and hardware is there…but some reason they just didn't give it to us :(

    • Are you sure you're not just hearing the external speaker ?
EVs make noise on purpose at low speeds so pedestrians can hear you coming. A whine at 20-30kph sounds exactly like this…

      • No, that is more like a spaceship sound, but thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't work too great for people in car parks though.. they still get startled when you drive by slowly…

If they had any more e-2008 available, I'd go test drive one to see if it's on both cars.. when I bring it in to Peugeot, I'll see if they have anything to say.

  • Despite some cool features, I couldn’t find an option to activate sound alert/alarm for speeding. I’m looking for a device for the purpose now.

  • Does anyone here have a copy of their policy for the refundable deposit? I put down a deposit online then cancelled it, and I have been on the phone for months with them. They've closed the deposit page since the vehicle sold out, and I can't find proof for commbank to supply a chargeback (they denied it as I couldn't provide a screenshot of the refundable deposit policy).

Tried wayback machine and everything. Such a pain in the ass. Their support is also a complete joke.

@TroyHasDeals Yes, I do have a copy. This is the relevant clause:

      3 Refund of the Deposit
      (a) You may cancel your offer to buy the Selected Vehicle and seek a refund of the Deposit
from the Dealer at any time before signing the Dealer Contract of Sale by requesting a
refund of the Deposit in writing from the Dealer to whom it was originally paid. The Dealer
will refund the deposit in full to the credit card you used on the Website to pay the
      Deposit.

Just email the dealer and request the refund (phone is not sufficient). Include the reservation confirmation number in your email. If they don't process the refund just do a chargeback on your credit card.

      • I paid via the online reservation, so it is a bit of a pain in the butt for me. I did sign a contract but with a clause for pending a test drive, so I should be okay. No dealer to email at the moment.

Have you tried your local dealer anyway ? I would have started with them - your online deposit probably went to them…

          • @Nom: Yep, told me to contact the online support number. Tried to chargeback and they (CBA) said I need the refund clause in writing from peugeot, otherwise they won't accept it.

            • @TroyHasDeals: Well you said you signed the contract with a pending test drive clause, show that to CBA for your chargeback
