This was a $64,990 DA car a month ago, a huge $25k price drop. To be fair this was more like a $50k car with a 65k RRP but now selling for 40k.
To put into perspective there’s only 2 EVs sub 40k DA on market, base level MG4 and GWM Ora.
This is easily the more premium of the 2.
I’ve given this a test drive, although it’s not as punchy as the MG4 it’s a nicer drive and has a much more premium feel and more features such as sunroof.

Yeah, I hope so. There's early adopter tax and it makes it better for everyone in the long run. Hopefully recycled batteries will be affordable compared to freshly mined stuff and have higher higher density too.
I think for the longer distances in Australia, 600km range is ideal which is good for 5hrs of 100kmh driving or a couple weeks of standard commuting and it's helpful for people without charging via solar. The 600km range helps with drops the 10-15% drop in efficiency.

Might be a decent purchase in Europe but I feel like you’re better off sticking with a popular make in Australia for the sake of dealer network and parts. Edit: resale too
The same is true for all Euro cars, especially VW.
They can be long lasting in Europe using cheap backyard mechanics using tricks and shortcuts using secondhand parts from scrapped cars to keep them in the road.
But not here, mechanics charge $150 an hour now and any significant maintenance with imported parts can write off an older euro car or make it inordinately expensive to keep on the road.
Then you find the resale value is in the toilet.

@Cheapskate Paul: Test drove it this morning, gotta say it's pretty damn nice and met my expectations, although with my current car being a clunky 2011 Ford Mondeo diesel anything is going to be significantly better! Only had about 40mins with it, would have liked a bit more time but not possible due to demand. I went with the 'Ozbargain Orange' colour, need to make a decision by C.O.B Monday if going to buy it not.

@bogstation: I'm in Adelaide. As mentioned, my daily atm is a noisy diesel so in comparison this is extremely quiet. I guess the only sound you hear is a little bit from the tyres, when breaking and the air whooshing past but it's stuff-all. Loved the interior and feels premium, only thing I disliked was quite a lot of gloss black on the centre console - shows up dust, smudges and scratches.

it has regen braking, two settings but not strong enough for one pedal driving.
it comes with type 2 cable for public charging stations, but doesnt come with a home wall socket charger, gotta buy it yourself (which im searching….)

This is the issue really… A lot of people don't have a driveway that some people would run cables over the curb.
Also, many apartments dont allow tenants to install chargers on their car spot.

Sure, why not? Only conditions are that you are the first registered owner (so no demo that was registered on the dealer), and the price limit is easily met.
So yes, ~$36,500. Pretty good deal if the car meets your needs.

I've summed up the complaints from these comments:
"Euro cars" — Some people just don't like Euro cars
"French cars" — Some people specifically don't like French cars (or maybe just French people in general…)
"Compliance car" — Some suggest that the car is primarily produced to meet regulatory requirements rather than being a fully developed product for the market.
"Peugeot struggle with basic electrics" — I reckon we'll see whether they're right in a few years from now
"Chinese garbage" — Aimed at the competitors (often said with no real alternative, they just want to complain)
"Peugeot are much nicer than any Tesla" — Uhh, seems like it goes both ways…
Basically, take these comments with a pinch of salt. It's an interesting read but please look at real reviews.

It would be better to shell out few extra $s and get BYD extended range. BYD are clearing 2023 stock Atto 3 for 46k. Atto 3 got awesome Tech features, premium interiors and 480KM WLTP range.
If you call atto 3 premium interiors you’d probably call this luxury… just saying I’ve been in both.

EVs are all about range. This compared to Atto 3, even with 10k difference, people prefer peace of mind about range and not thinking about charging always.
TGUK rates both 7/10 but they prefer the French interior. Amazed the BYD scored so highly, given the ride/handling isn't great. Probably the battery and range, then.

Checking the bad stuff about the e 2008 makes me think, after this discount it no longer has bad stuff.
atto 3 handles better than the model Y standard range IMO. having said that the model Y base is known for its rigid chassis and stiff handling

Seriously buy a quality charger. You will use it for potentially 6-30hrs non stop each week or multiple times a week running at 2.4kw 10amp and completely unattended.
This is literally using as much power at boiling a kettle non stop for hours upon hours.

It been good enough for me, you can probably find cheaper wall box chargers with more smart functions, maybe even higher charge rate but my car only does 7kw max , also i wanted something that was mobile and can be taken any where, also i dont own the house i live in so no point installing something for the next renter to enjoy lol, licensed electrician installed a 5 pin 3phase socket and switch (mates rates) didn't require much as it was literally next to wall box so no long wiring needed.
Great charger from my experience, business owner is very good to deal with and responds quickly,
